We used to live in Tucson. I Loved going to Old Tucson! So much fun, so many great memories! Thank you for the video! Makes me miss it and want to come to Arizona and see it again.
My daughter and grandkids went to Old Tucson yesterday for my daughter s birthday, we had such an exciting day, there was so much to do, we are native here in Tucson, I just hadn't been there in so long. I LOVED YOUR PETTING ZOO, AND WENT ON THE STAGECOACH WITH TEAM HORSES, FOOD WAS GREAT!! WENT THROUGH THE OL WEST MINE. IT WAS DARK, MY GRANDSON HELD MY HAND, I MADE IT TO THE END!! THANK YOU!! ❤
My mom and I went to NightFall last year at Old Tucson. We loved it. We were excited to hear that Old Tucson was reopening and starting with NightFall no less. We secured our ticket's asap. We were also very fortunate to be invited to the Preview for Yuletide last year. Which was the day before Thanksgiving. We loved that as well. ^^
I am so happy Old Tucson Is open again, You made my day :) I have been to Tucson a dozen of times and was so sad I could not go here the past few years....Well Now A trip on Jan is in order...Thanks for the great news...
Me and my family visited Old Tucson regularly in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, before the 1995 fire. Very different now. Back then, the old mine was a amusement park ride, not a guided tour, There was a huge kid play area with amazing rope structures you could climb. There was no movie museum. I will be very interested in seeing that! The town looks so different now. Actually better is some ways: bigger with more genres of streets. No tours of the sound stage before, wonder if they have that now? Too bad the iconic adobe chapel built in 1939 is gone as well as most of the original adobe buildings. I don’t remember it having that many restaurants back in the day. I do remember buying ice cream cones. Looks like the gift shop on the way out has totally changed. What happened to the rows and rows of assorted candies you could pick out yourself to purchase? Glad Old Tucson is back and I will definitely check it out the next time I’m in Tucson. The nearby Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum nearby is another must see attraction.
I love Old Tucson. I worked there in the’80’s, when I was a teen. I had the opportunity of working both in food and beverage, and the acting 🎭 department as a costume character. I feel fortunate that I was able to work there under the leadership of Bob Shelton. As for the new ownership, I am so grateful that they have stepped up to save this iconic movie location 🎥, and legendary symbol of Tucson. However, I visited the lot for Nightfall, and was, sadly, disappointed. I understand that they want to make their mark as new leadership, and they should, but how they did it upset many longtime local residents and customers who loved and missed the Nightfall that they remembered. Now, had it been a better show, it may have been better received. When I went we were forced to stand in long lines, the audience was given the task of solving a “mystery”, but without proper guidance it was impossible to know where to begin. It was confusing and, dare I say, boring, and not what you want from a Halloween event. Of course, that was the point when the park first opened after 2 years of being closed. I am still very excited about the future of Old Tucson and hopeful that the new owners will bring it back to where it was during its heyday.
I met the couple that manages the horses and does the carriage rides there at a site they do by appointment horseback rides. They were out by colossal cave, which made for a gorgeous lush environment to ride. Highly recommend.
Very cool! Yes we talked with them on that ride about their business! There are a lot of great things out by colossal cave, including petting, zoos and horseback, riding and hiking and camping :)
About how Old Tucson has a miniature train, the park also used to be the home of the steam locomotive Reno Virginia and Truckee #11, the engine is now back at her old stomping grounds on the Virginia and Truckee Railroad in Virginia City, Nevada and is being restored to running condition
A few special location shots for Little House on the Prairie were shot here, but the majority of the show was shot in California at Big Sky Ranch in Simi Valley, where the entire town of Walnut Grove & the Ingalls farm were built. Big Sky Ranch was also where M*A*S*H was filmed. You used to be able to tour both filming locations but there’s really nothing left of either show’s sets any longer.
The old Tucson before Covid it was so much better then today and more stuff to do then today Tucson it’s stupid the they can’t do more movies out here that place is going downhill
Went there last Monday with 3 grandkids. They were bored 5 minutes into tour. Make sure you know what is being offered at the time you go, This video is completely false. They have special events at night for XMAS but that is it. Tour is 1 hour and they kick you out. No shops except where you check in for tour are open. Not worth the money!
Love Old Tucson!

Going next week!
You will have fun!
Is old Tucson free to visit so can you just walk around here or only guided tours? Would love to make a stop here and visit it
Good question; you have to purchase tickets to get in. It’s really fun! I definitely recommend!!!
How was the old carousel? I haven’t been there in years and it was one of my favorites along with the old cars they had on the track.
The carousel is really neat! It’s very historic.

Very cool! I’ve actually never been to nightfall 😆 I might be one of the only Tucsonans who hasn’t… LOL

Things I miss about living in Tucson for 30 years. 😔

Great place!!!

Thanks for sharing! I remember hearing that the show had been shot in several different locations. :)
