      Dude, when I saw that slap, I didn't see a celeb acting like a baby. I saw a 17 year old dude defending his girlfriend at a party, who everyone knows treats him like dirt. "Dude. He hit Carl. Carl!" Then a week later, the teens are broken up.
      Jada put him in a situation where he either had to man up and defend her, or listen to her talk about how he won't man up. Or, maybe he's thinking about the other 'real man' who's doing her on her time, along with looking like a wuss in front of the world. That relationship is toxic.

    • @dshepherd107
      @dshepherd107 2 года назад +7

      Just remember, it takes two people to be in a messed up relationship. Will staying w/ her all these years, just told her she could keep doing it. I’m not judging him. I hope he gets clear of her. Ive watched her briefly a few times, mainly bc clips would be everywhere, & she definitely plays on his vulnerabilities. She also seems like she needs drama & attention.. a LOT. That’s usually the sign of a pretty solid narcissist. Those kind will suck the soul from you if you stay. It’s just how they are, & you can’t fix them, but the victim has to have the inner strength to walk away. It’s a sad situation all around.

    • @guyvizard549
      @guyvizard549 2 года назад

      @@dshepherd107 For sure. I've been in bad relationships before, and it's easy to say I was a victim, but there were times when I was maybe closer to an enabler. Just speaking from personal experience, I did a lot of theater and a bit of film all throughout school and beyond. Close to 20 years. Many actors and performers are "drama" seekers. if they can't get it in a role, they might even make it in their real life. Obviously, age and experience play a factor. But, many actors have confidence issues. It's easy to see why. I had 'em, too. You have to keep up a BS 'brand" of yourself, and balance personal life. I have an idea of what being famous is like, but (luckily) I probably never will. But that's a whole new layer of stress. And many actors are narcissists. I have tendencies, myself. had to deal with them. Many female actors I dated had these issues, too. You put two of those types together, and it can be volatile all around. Two people, in total denial, ready to kill each other, but acting like all is well on behalf of the "image." Plus, there's a lot of fair-weather friends and star-f**kers around you if you have any talent or success. They sure won't pull you to the side and tell you to break up... Yeesh...

    Was Will in the wrong? 100%. Should the Academy have thrown him out? Absolutely. Should Chris have pressed charges? I would. Should Will's misdeed negate all of his previous work? Of course not. Hell when sentencing for murder, previous actions and premeditation is considered.
    I gotta give Bert props. It really speaks to his character, that as a comedian he can acknowledge what Will did as wrong but still appreciates the man who gave him his start.

    Yups..part of the world right now see Will Smith as a bad person, including me definitely.. but part of us forgot that he actually a "good" person to others.. my meters hates going low a bit after hearing this wonderful story.. thank you sir for sharing that moment.. and when times go by.. Will already installed the slaps moment in our memories and that a bad memory for part of us that had to swallow.. yups still hate Jada 😬😬😬😬

      @Tom Henesey well said bro.. I'm same page with you.. toxic relationships kinda sucks.. hopefully someday Will leave Jada.. and maybe he will clear the bad air with Chris Rock

    I remember when bert first started talking about it. The punch line narrative was so far fetch at the time it was funny. Some jokes/punch line don't age well. If will did try something. Beating the brakes off will Smith would be a baller career move 😆

    My favorite trope from everyone in show business is that they call people they’ve barely had contact with “friends”.

      Yeah, it's the trick of the business.
      Like this podcast I listen to and this formerly successful actor keeps introducing celebs as 'best friend in the whole world'

      It's not just with celebrities. It's also in politics, business, high-end social circles, etc. Anywhere where you gain credibility from knowing someone. It's human nature.

      It’s because their world is comprised of two types of people. … entertainment industry… and everyone else
      Yes part of it is ego, but there is also a trust factor built in. I used to live in Hollywood. You could live there 20 years and never hang with an a-lister, but once you get in with a couple people, you essentially have the keys to the city (if you have charisma)

      He's Van Wilder. That movie is literally based on his life. Bert is like the real life funny Forest Gump of comedy. You should check out his stand-up special The Machine. It's soo funny. I'm pretty sure that's the one he tells this full story, along when he became an honorary member of the Russian Mafia on a school trip
