Awesome video Bart! Would be super interesting if you managed to create a whole song throughout your tutorials, using the different songwriting concepts for each song section.

Thanks Thomas! I started a Patreon where I will do live streams soon, I'm working on my solo album, so lots of stuff will be streamed \m/ patreon/barthennephof

This video is gold! SO glad I found you. More information in 4 minutes that is so easy to use and apply than most other songwriting lessons that are just:
    How to write the song:
    1. Write the song.
    Thanks so much!

That's awesome, I like your approach to see and hear things in a different way. Like that air-condition last time and now that little alarm. Also I like that hint with the little move of the 1/16 to the left. So I have to try this to get more variety. Thanks 👌🏻

Damn that last section was so cool, it could really be a great intro! Great video, a reminder that whenever I don't know where to continue the development of a song, maybe the anser is in the motifs that are already there and just try new variations :)

Hi Bart. This is super insightful. Thank you for this. Are you tuned to E standard on your 6 string?

@@BartHennephof aah my bad. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on harmony in your upcoming vids! Rhythm is cool and all but would love to hear how you approach all things harmony/chords/intervals. Cheers!

Hi Matt, check my other vids: I got one of cluster chords up, and more of that topic is coming soon 👌🏻

This not the best example of motif development surely. In fact, you develop the motif by repeating and spreading it throughout the melody here and there to define it melodically but more importantly expand it into a whole melody. This guy is just playing a riff over and over displacing the rhythm a bit. Again, poor instruction.

It's just a rhythmic approach, correct, so I'm only focusing on the rhythmical aspect,. So yes, it's not motif development in the original/melodic sense.
