Gary, I am so jealous of Hank, being able to wear all your stunning projects! That manny-kin is better dressed than me. That shawl you are working on is a masterpiece! I actually looked into buying that pattern, but realized that I was not ready for such an undertaking. ❤❤❤thank you for sharing all your yarnie adventures!
Hi Cyann - thank you so much for your kind message - I'm humbled. When you feel ready (which I'm sure you're there), look to buying the pack of the Novellas. You'll save a bit of money and from memory there are 3 patterns - each with varying levels of skill set. Kind of like graduating in difficulty, but I think you'd be able to tackle any of them.
Your BOD shawl along is stunning! I love the choice of pale yarn for the second shawl because it makes all the stitches visible so they can be appreciated - and what an amazing pattern it is!
Hi Gary, your Bag O Day shawl is absolutely gorgeous!! I love the color. Your other shawl you're working on is exquisite!! I love all the texture in it.
Hi Julieann - Thank you so much for your comment. I'm extremely humbled. Jaga Jaga designs are so great for texture and lace combos in the one pattern.
Love the cowl that Hank is wearing ❤ You're Shawl from Crystal's CAL is absolutely gorgeous!! I wish I had 1/2 of your talent 😍 All your Shawls are beautiful!
Hello Pammy - you are too kind with your message and I'm sure you have that talent you mention. Crafters and Creators are some of the most humblest of souls.
The shawl you did for Crystal's is so pretty, love the colors!! Oh my goodness, the other shawl of off white to light gray is Drop dead Gorgeous!!! Absolutely beautiful stitches!!! Beautiful color!!! What a great video!! Loved seeing the squares/motifs worked up in the different yarns/colorways. I like d the SS ombre ones!!
I look so forward to your videos. Those shawls are so spectacular! Love the squares and hexis. Very clever and pretty design on the knitted cowl you opened with too. You are an inspiration. And your landscape there in Vancouver-just gorgeous!
I just love your channel after finding out about it from Crystal ❤️. Your shawls are just stunning & just blow me away that you can do such intricate patterns & really haven’t been crocheting or knitting all that long! Your colour choices are amazing & you are so adventurous & not afraid to try anything 😳. You have a very natural talent which I really am envious of! Well done! Cheers 🤗❤️👏💕😍🥰
Hi Joan - this was so warming to read. Thank you for all the compliments - I'm humbled. Half my fun in my yarn corner is to pair off yarns and see how to use what I have. I'm also a keen scrap user too, which is half the fun in my colour play. I'm not too precious when they're scraps.
❤❤❤ crochet along is gorgeous love the tiny yarn, fingering. I've never used it. Intimidated. Not finished with mine. About half way. OH WOW! Beige on is fabulous too. Such talent. Enjoy your videos. 😊😊😊😊
Hi Sharon - has the BOD shawl along been so much fun! I'm loving seeing all the different yarn types and colours everyone is choosing for theirs. Enjoy the rest of your sections you have left.
Hi, Gary!! It is great to see you again! I have started BagODay's Shawl Along, but my ADHD kicked in and I have three other WIPS in the works, lol!! Your shawl came out fantastic!! It is beautiful!! Crystal is amazing! She designed that shawl on the fly! So talented! I love your makes also, Gary!!
Gary! Everything is absolutely amazing as usual! How do you have so many projects at one time AND finish them! And you have a job AND a husband AND a dog AND a home! LOL! I love watching your videos and I’m ready for you to start doing tutorials! 💗🧶
Hello there! You could say that I'm addicted to crafting everyday. Most of it happens when we have down time - watching TV, movies, hockey, or most often when my family are asleep. I'm a terrible sleeper that gets up in the middle of the night with a wild idea to work on the next part of a pattern or try out a new yarn! I do make sure there's balance as much as I can though.
Gary you just blow my mind! lol...the first shawl is beautiful but the second one is a work of art!!! Gorgeous!! Natures Walk is really pretty but just the thought of sewing them all together...oy vey...lol..Also the Mijo project...beautiful but alot of work. I do alot of crochet for charity and I get yarn donations from my community. I make blankets for a hospice agency and hats & scarfs for the homeless in my area. During the summer I slow down a bit because I'm a beach lover and that's where you will find me. Riding the waves and watching the surfers.
Hi Linda - I've enjoyed reading what you are working on and how much reward you get from the offerings you make to your community. For many us crafters, the sense of giving makes the hobby more a lifestyle.
Gary those shawls are spectacular! Your color choices are always so beautiful. The cowl is lovely as well and the flowers as well. I really enjoyed this with your tv recommendations. I need to get disciplined about my projects. One problem is I have a few too many crafts that I do. Always happy to see your posts. ❤
Oh my 240taylor - I had that one written down in my notebook to talk about in my next catch up. I would have not believed it was based on a true story, but the actor was the actual person it happened to. It was very disturbing.
Hi Gary. Your FOs and WIPs look amazing as always. I'm into the NBA Finals and baseball. The Talented Mr. Ripley was good. I only remember Matt Damon. I'm working on several afghans, A huge basket and granny squares for several projects.
Hi Gary, I love your BOD shawl. I thought I’d be on my own using cotton. The teal in your flowers is call out to me. The other shawl looks so impressive & certainly has a lot of very interesting stitches. Have a wonderful long weekend! 🧶💜
Hello Chelle! I loved working the Shawl Along in cotton. I'm going over to your channel to see if you've shown yours! ...after note - I watched your video and your shawl came out spectacular!
Hello dear Gary ❤ Stunning shawls! Colours and structure, not boring at all! Can't wait for the next Q&A and I'm working on my WIPs, making place for your new MAL 😊. Just finished a baby blanket and 2 pullovers are on the way😅... Take care and enjoy the springtime❤
Hello there Emese - I'm sending cyber thoughts and loving that you are enjoying your crafting! These are some wonderful projects you have on the go and I'm excited about the Mood Board MAL Summer edition that's I'll be chatting about soon!
Hi Gary, the BOD shawl is Gorgeous as is the shawl you are working on. Love the colors of the cowl you made. The hexagons and Nature Walk squares are beautiful!
I get a bit more adventurous each time I watch your channel. Listening to your process of duplicating yarn and swapping out the yarn is magical. Fantastic stitching on the BOD shawl and Yaga Yaga shawls!
Hi Patricia! I'm super happy to read that you're more adventurous with your yarn crafting. Pleasant accidents happen with play time and abandoning our normal "go to" ways of crafting. Enjoy the exploration!
Hi Gary !! ❤❤. Your BOD CAL came out stunning !! The color combination is amazing ! ❤. I did one as well in blues cuz it’s my favorite color 💙🩵💙🩵💙. That second shawl is absolutely gorgeous !! I’ll have to look into that movie One Day sounds interesting. Right now I’m watching The Resident. Ty Gary for sharing ❤❤
Hi Aidasoto - I'm thrilled that you're enjoyed crocheting the BOD shawl along. So Blue is your favourite colour! I love finding out a bit more of what colours us crafters like to use.
I love all your projects, they are all gorgeous! I am trying to finish an afghan for my Grandson before the summer heat hits, then will work on a granny square blanket, or wedding shawl for my Granddaughter who is getting married next year. I'm looking forward to the Summer mood board!! I can't wait to hear about it!
Hello Caw46 - I really enjoyed reading about your makes and plans to share them with family! These are some fantastic pieces that will be loved and treasured for many years.
All your art is beautiful!!!! Your bod shawl turned out awesome!!! Crystal will be happy!!! Yes Hank will be happy!!!! Good luck to your hockey team!!!! Thank you
Hello there! Thank you for your comment. Our hockey team played last night the deciding game and unfortunately we lost - but the winning team carrying on is from Canada, so we are now cheering them on to victory!
I have never tried using multiple yarns together. This is something I really must try sometime. Just not sure where to start but you do such a good job of it. You are such an inspiration.
Hi Judy - it's an interesting process to combine and hold two yarns together. I do it mostly, well at first it was mostly out of necessity, because I would run out of yarn and needed to match a yarn weight with what ever I had. Now I like to be adventurous with mixing to play with textures and colours as an exploration to extend on the stash possibilities.
Love Bod shawl, but im in love with the ecru color shawl that is gorgeous. And the cowl there are no words for, so awesome. Love the colors in the shawl you are knitting and the Bod shawl, so beautiful.
Gary - your work is always gorgeous but what you showed today - Stunning. -WOW WOW WOW! I always have to stretch my stash for some reason but I don't have the beautiful stash you have so I usually throw a opposing contrast color 😂
Hi Marsha! We do what we can with what we have... and I love the opposing contrast colour to finish up a project. I'm also doing that a bunch when I only have that one skein but really want to start a project right away that uses more yarn.
GREAT VIDEO!!! I love your CAL BOD Shawl!! Love the colors! Its amazing how the different colors make these shawls look so different!!! 😍 Still working on mine. Jumped to 2 others projects I wanted to finish. So I'll be back to it soon!!! I can't wait to finish, block, & see how it turns out!! Seeing yours is very inspiring. I LOVE the gray shawl you did too. Great pattern!! TFS!! Austin TX USA
Hi Barbara - It's been so wonderful to see all the creations of the BOD Shawl and I'm excited for you to make those last stitches, to stand back and admire your creation!
Love your BOD MAL shawl. The colors really show off the stitches. All your makes are so interesting and different. Can’t wait to see the finished projects. The Netflix series One Day was a movie with Anne Hathaway which was very good. I’ll have to see the series and see if it veers from the movie. Great video. Looking forward to the next one.🥰
Hi Joyce - thanks for the message and the compliments! That's so good to know about "One Day" being a feature length movie to begin with. I see that there are a few current series (some on Netflix) that have been adapted from past feature length movies.
hiya gary! you have an amazing sense of color and style ~ really! you should have classes local to you and online. fantastic BOD color choices. i guess im going to have to try stenli. the off white was the perfect choice - stunning make.
Hi Romaynecarlin! Thank you so kindly for your comment. If you are looking at the Stenli Muffin Tweed, just know that it's a bit toothy and if you had any adverse reaction to that type of finish against your skin - then that may not be your choice of yarn - especially if it's a more dressier shawl that you're hoping to use with bear shoulders. I don't have that issue - as I'm going to use mine as a lap-ghan while I'm watch TV in the lounge room.
Positively love the cowl you experimented with. ❤❤❤ Great colors-my palette. I am still working on my BagODay shawl. I had to take a break because I started some baskets and got carried away and developed tendinitis. Working with 3-7 strands of yarn in SC was too intense, but I really want to destash my yarn. So cant’ wait to start up again. I also love your JagaJaga shawl! It is gorgeous! I too love texture.
Hi Andrea-Louis. Thank you kindly for the compliment on the work and letting me know what you are working on. I'm so sorry to hear the basket was too much for your hands - please look after yourself and rest up!
Your Novela shawl is stunning! Literally took my breath away. And I really like your wind flower hexagons in the violet ombré colorway. I’m interested to see what color you use for the last round. Beautiful work!! 🦋
Hello StitchaSpell - thank you kindly for your compliment. I did some outer boarders on my Wind Flower Hexagons this weekend and there are several colours I've used - mostly neutrals that have some tonal in them.
Thank you kindly for that compliment. It's been lovely to see all the creators and their take on the Shawl Along. So many wonderful works to enjoy with this Make Along!
I am working on my first simple crochet shawl now and seeing your 2 shawls gives me some great ideas for future projects. That BOD shawl had such lovely drape. It sounds like the summer will be busy on the channel and I'm looking forward to the content. Is that a cherry blossom in bloom at the end? It is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Hi Candy - I saw that style of the full colour Wind Flower Hexagon on one of the projects on Ravelry and it did look amazing (there was also one completed in all off white - no secondary or boarder colour).
Thank you! 🤗 I had so much fun working all through the BOD Shawl Along and learning so much with each section. It was incredible to see all the different colours that were being posted on social media too.

Hi, you combine the colors so nice, i love all youre works ❤❤
Thank you so kindly for that sweet compliment!
Thank you so much Quilty!
Great job on the shawls you’re very talented thank you for sharing ❤😊 I love bagoday too
That is so gorgeous. Wow I would love to be able to do that one day.
I finally did up some of those wind flower hexagons and they are actually fun to make and look great done up in just one color.
Hi Candy - I saw that style of the full colour Wind Flower Hexagon on one of the projects on Ravelry and it did look amazing (there was also one completed in all off white - no secondary or boarder colour).
Talent! Glad to see your beautiful work.
Wow. What a talent you are! Beautiful works.
Thank you very much!
Your BagODay CAL shawl looks beautiful ❤️
Thank you! 🤗 I had so much fun working all through the BOD Shawl Along and learning so much with each section. It was incredible to see all the different colours that were being posted on social media too.
Both shawls are so beautiful. Great work.
