It's not the stairs I dread. It's when you're running away from the ghost, and suddenly it's in front of you, having spawned in an entirely different area than where it was giving you evidence.
It doesn't spawn in a different area, the ghost actually wonders to different rooms regardless where you get your evidence and where the "ghost room" is, it can also change ghost rooms as well.
@@coolerplays3477 Also I feel like I should mention this but only some ghosts wander and start hunts outside of the room. The Wraith, and the spirit are examples of this. That's why the smudge is used to stop ghosts in there rooms for a while. The Hermit card also does this. The game is easy as fuck when you figure out the mechanics. Like the fact that if a door is closed the ghost doesn't actually fully check a room. That's why breaking line of sight is so important. I've got a system which (usually but not always) gives perfect games.
Basement? No problem. Upstairs? I'm on ghost orb duty, don't wanna be anywhere near this death trap. I swear upstairs ghosts have the special ability of starting their hunt from anywhere in the building, often in the room right next to you... So much lost equipment on High School and the houses...
Never die on HS anymore tho I like ridge view halway/bathroom ghost cause I always manage to out run em to the the the big bathroom... lol never died once doing it... I don't know either
I love upstairs ghosts because there’s almost always a hiding spot up there and usually one near the bottom, plus they’re easy to keep track of with motion sensors, basements though, nah I’ll be over here drawing tarot cards and screaming at the ghost to come kill me.
I've been terrified of stairs in phas ever since I really needed to get to a hiding spot, but my buddy didn't realize there was a hunt and just stood there, blocking the bottom. I literally screamed "Run run run!" and he just sat there, then, after I died. "Oh. Guys. I think it just hunted." He's a better player now, but I still get paranoid about an exit strategy when stairs are involved.
For me it’s especially when it’s in the basement because it seems like it acts as one big room and could totally spawn on the stairs trapping you. Also the stairs on Graphton Farmhouse are my worst nightmare, nothing like running up them in the dark during a hunt
Honestly, the annoying ones are the hallway ghosts. You have to go into the house to check for evidence and give it a pat on the shoulder on your way in. It's pretty cool at first to bring the gear and such, then you realize you have to investigate further while at low sanity right under its nostrils.
Basements are death traps. I usually just go straight there with a sound sensor to get the power/bone while everyone has near max sanity, then pretend it doesn't exist unless I see the basement light up on the sound sensor I placed.
@@DavidBowieFan1990 Same! The first place I check is always the basement and/or the attic, also surprisingly make for really good hiding spots during a hunt if the ghost isn't there.
Phasmophobia has definitely gotten scarier since the update, and more difficult in my opinion, lol. Keep up the awesome work on the videos! All the effects look great and the humor's spot on. Too bad flashlight doesn't tell you if a ghost is hunting anymore. XD
@@DippedInDopamine Instead of just the flashlight, all electronics go haywire while within a certain radius of the ghost. The problem is, if you're far away, the only sure way to tell if the ghost is hunting still is to check global coms for static.
The amount of jumpscares my brother and I have had with Phasmo stairs. My bro had to walk away form the computer when the ghost pushed a ball down the stairs after he turned to look up XD And I've had a ghost run at me from the top of the stairs lol
Playing VR and running like hell from a ghost on stairs... I've had the joy a few times of getting stuck in the floor during the rapid floor transition and had to just stand there and watch the ghost casually close in. No thanks. If there's stairs involved I'll be watching the dots in the van.
Every time I hear someone in the van looking for orbs I think of Icy in the van while IGP and Drae are in the house giving him crap. Lol You really are good at these.
Once upon a time.....my team accidentally broke the Ouija at Ridgeview when we weren't yet to know where the ghost room was. We were inside at the front door and I decided to run upstair for a closet, guessing that ghost might be on the first floor somewhere or basement....just to get a "Surprise! Mxxx fxxker!" by a silent Myling at the corner of the stairs and died. -___-*
I use to always hate stairs in this game because I play in VR, and in older versions your movement speed slowed down whenever you looked up or down, and you could easily get stuck on steps. If I wanted to move at full speed across the stairs, I could not actually look at what was at the top or bottom of the stairwell. Now the speed is fixed and I don’t get stuck as often.
I can relate to this greatly. I pirated phasmophobia wanting to try it out since everyone's hyping about it. I did farm house and although the stairs weren't high enough, they still creeped me out for some reason. It was my first ever game and my teammates and I couldn't finish it coz the game got glitched with the doors being locked permanently. Heh, the life of a pirate. Oh btw, this was during the Halloween update. Now I am actually thinking about getting this game. Want to dive back in once again but this time while also supporting the devs.
Now this is a correct way of short formed content none of this youtube shorts/ tik tok bs people like you and tomska really know how to make short formed content
Tbh it's a shame that this kinda of format is being left behind. Properly written sketches used to dominate, and now all we have is extremely short, fast, loud, colourful, and silly content clearly aimed at younger audiences
This happens all the time… and I act surprised when the door locks behind me. Sometimes I wait at the door and bait someone in first cause it will lock the door behind the first person who walks in. lol no thanks
Thats what i think phasmophobia is scary but not too scary to the point i can confidently play it in vr (in multiplayer fuck singleplayer all my homies hate singleplayer)
lmaoo reminds me one time i was signing a ghost song, malaysian's song then a glitch or bug. a ghost kid appear right in front of the stairs as I'm about to go upstairs, had me tripping as I really have phasmophobia on ghost kids 😭😭
I mean you don’t need to be in the van to check for orbs use the cam or i forgot what it’s called but you can check for orbs in the house you don’t have to use a tripod
I can say I have never experience this, however, why do basically none of the stairs have lighting over them, like who designed these houses. The placement of lights is very unrealistic for many of them, especially the highschool with its lack of natural light ever able to get into the main halls which would be the only reason for the lack of lights everywhere

I always thought the basement and the upstairs were always the worst places to check in phasmophobia.
Why are so many multi-storey buildings haunted? 😥
