I can't help but laugh at everyone complaining about the sequential trans. It will only make a difference at road courses. They don't downshift on oval tracks.
And since NASCAR is adding more road courses, it'll become useful. As much as I prefer the gated transmission, its long dead. Everything out there uses DCT or Sequential anyway, with the exception of maybe 10 holdouts. I don't mind a single lug nut, but I miss the classic oval stock car wheel look already. Not that this is a bad design, there are just classic aspects I like. That said, the split exhaust sounds pretty damn good.
Atlanta Motor Speedway, Kentucky Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Texas motor Speedway and COTA needed some more road course fun
im glad kurt is out there. i trust him as a car guy more than 90% of the drivers. mark martin wouldve been another great guy to test these. i wonder if he got invited
Liking it so far, car looks more nimble in corners, sequential gearbox’s I like, but does take some of the “driver skill” out of it, but hey, it’s 2020, time to catch up with the times, also absolutely LOVE dual exhaust on both side skirts, that gives it that ol 90s stock car sound around the high banks at high RPM
I think of it as this, a car that handles better can be pushed farther and harder but sometimes won't be as forgiving. So a better driver could get closer and get more out of the car.
Looks very close to the design of the ZL1 which is awesome since I just picked up a 19 Crush 😀 If the rear diffusers do what they are intended to, we should see a lot more bumping with less crashes in certain tracks. I think that would help NASCAR tremendously with the fans. Be safe and God Bless.
After seeing the close-ups of the exhaust, it makes a bit more (just a bit) sense as to the flat sounds of the car. The exhaust has been split. The spacer plates still choke those engines too much. But, now knowing we aren't hearing both exhaust pipes at the same time, gives light to the flatter sound. Has anyone released what gear ratios are being run with the 6 speed box? Damn, just imagine that full 900hp breathing, and galloping with that 6 speed!!
Looks like they are going for kind of a Pinty's series feel and look for the cars. Which is a good thing. I am Canadian and I lave attended many pinty’s races over the years and to me, they race pretty much like the gen 4 cars did.
Sounds fucking phenomenal, fuck you to anyone moaning about the new sequential trans, time NASCAR joined the modern world of Motorsport and not stuck in the past.
I like the concept. It's about time Nascar took their cars into the modern age with the diffuser, sequential gearbox, 18" wheels, and more carbon fiber...
Low revs it sounds like an older v8 but up in the highs its got a very modern kinda scream in it that is absolutely intoxicating, that front end on the blue car is super dodge charger esc, and that sequential transmission seems super cool as long as they don't go for floppy panels and stick to a stick.
The one Kurt was driving has a Chevy engine in it (car was built by RCR). The other one that Truex drove had a Ford powerplant. They are the same engines used today, but the exhaust will be a pipe out each side rather than the crossover pipe going out the right side only on the Gen6.
Dodge doesn't run in Nascar anymore, my opinion they should make a come back but, besides that, the only other drivetrain they have besides Chevy and Ford is Toyota.
I’ve heard that the cars will all be the same but with different manufacturers badges and the engines will all be the same and sealed from nascar to stop “cheating” manipulation, just rumors not sure!
I'm excited now after seeing this video and with the additional road course races in the future it can only make Nascar better. Oh yeah, the loud dumb music, C'MON MAN
Is that a Chevy front nose with a mustang rear? That's what it looks like. Notice the rear curved bumpers too? Wonder how bump drafting will go.Are these composite body's too?
2 questions 1. Will they change the spoiler height to about 3.5 inches or so for short tracks?? Cuz in the pictures, it looks like the car has no spoiler at all 2. Will they test the Next-generation car at the superspeedway tracks like Daytona or Talladega??
Sequential gearbox? Don't like that one bit. Heel-toeing is one of the great things about banging a jerico four speed. Or any h-pattern for that matter.
I like it now its time to get back to the tracks because I miss nascar already the season to some might not been what they wanted but at least you got a battle at the end and thats what its all about
What do you guys think of the Next Gen so far? I think it's gonna make for great racing and it looks really good as well!!!!
I think that it’s gonna be good
Amazing
NYYYYYOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!
One of the Gen 7 cars has head lights and tail lights I think by the looks of it
SKIIIIIIIIIIRT!

Except Pocono sometimes but other than that I am like you it's not like they down shift at Martinsville going into to corners.
@@robertrobinson1111 phoenix and a couple others where they will downshift to gain a tenth. Not many but I understand the point
@@morgfarm1 agree with everything you said
Bfor long they'll have autos. Than the real COMPLAINING will begin.
Am I the only one that is excited about the fact the body is symmetrical again?
Its sick
It sounds eerily similar to old school stock cars (80s-early 90s). Talk about throwback.
Omg it's literally the plot of Cars 3 I cant 🤣
Always have loved the sound of a single car on a race track.
Atlanta Motor Speedway, Kentucky Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Texas motor Speedway and COTA needed some more road course fun

Does it take less skill to drive a V8 Supercar in your opinion?
not like they downshift at ovals
looks like Lightnin McQueen's gonna have tough times ahead...
I'll look forward for McQueen able to compete with Jackson Storm!
Imo this is THE best sounding stock car Nascar has put out since the 2000-2003 cars
I like how they brought back the more circular body to it. It actually looks like a race car rather than a normal street car with decals on it
So NASCAR has learned something from Australia. Have they borrowed their technology on wheels and gearboxes? Its about time.
I love the new gen car it corners faster too, 1 lung nut,
This is like the "Nascar 3000"
It’s cool with the exhaust on bot sides but the jack man and tire changes will getting exhaust fumes while working the pit stop
Well they have to deal with it on one side already
I gotta be honest this is giving me an opinion that we should have a roval night race that would be *AMAZING*
Add Catch Fence Infield Light to see a tracks in Charlotte Roval and Texas Motor Speedway have Catch Fence Yellow Light.
Perfect for cup series and Xfinity series racing
Sounds like a pulsejet... actually sounds terrifying lol. Can't tell if I'm listening to a next-gen NASCAR car or a V-1.
That thing sounds like a monster on the track, I love it.
holy shit this car is gonna be fucking insane. i love the dual exhaust and sequential gearbox. and this is what a nascar race car SHOULD sound like
Kurt Busch is exactly the driver that should be helping with development of this new car
Rowdy, it's "No rest for the weary" not wicked
Pretty sure he said that on purpose
Next year will be crazy. I gotta hear what these cars sound like in person at Bristol!
I think the big reviews are going to be when guys like Harvick, Kyle Busch, and Brad Keselowski are going to test it.
Kurt Busch Champion, Truex Jr. Champion. As well as the 3 you listed. The real test will be when they run them on the oval side by side tomorrow.
Love that exhaust sound! Will be a nice change !
God that engine note... The brakes are huge! That aero is great! Finally underbody aero! I love everything about this!
The wheel is the same design that they use at Porsche on their GT3, and GTE cars as well, I believe Ford had used something close to it as well
They use BBS rims for testing, it's the same rim Ford GTE, & Porsche GTE use, looks cool!
Next Gen?
Well, i think Jackson Storm will be advantageous right there!
My goodness, I love it!
Gonna be a great NASCAR
2 years later. Time really flies doesn't it?
Yup lol
Talkin' 'bout next generation, just because they get around
the song always reminds me of jimmie johnsons vids because he used that as his intro for a while
Loving it let's go faster.But drive safe....yea....
How does sequential gearbox works? What if I wanted to go into first gear and reverse?
I'm sure they've already figured out a way for that
@@TheSuperSquad your new sub

Kyle Busch‘s brother meaning Brex Busch’s uncle is testing the new next GEN seven prototype
it looks a bit more like my 2003 Tiburon GT V6 Coupe, ands that's a good thing!
Nice, I’m looking to buy a tiburon with a v6 in it myself.
It sounds Pissed off and I absolutely love it
Wow, sequential gear box. Does that mean more road courses?
Probably
The car looks so much stable around the track. Is crazy
Looks like they are going for kind of a Pinty's series feel and look for the cars. Which is a good thing. I am Canadian and I lave attended many pinty’s races over the years and to me, they race pretty much like the gen 4 cars did.
At first I wasn’t a fan but It grew on me I like the way it looks wonder how testing on short tracks and superspeedways will go tho
I’m voting for the roval race at night
anyone know what engine they use for these cars?
The next gen car is sexy as he'll but one lug. Pitstops will never sound the same ever again
Just imagine if they did something crazy like get rid of refueling... 4-5 second pit stops
I agree, I wish they would keep it 5 lugs
@@dyslexofficial2798 Or like 2 seconds +/- with F1. Blink and ya miss it!
Just means pit crews gotta really be spot on
I think it will just make driving safer.... with five lugs a loose one was common... and a loose lug is a loose wheel
Man these sound amazing. Nailed the design as well. I’m excited!!
Getting closer and closer to an Australian v8 super car (good thing).
That engine sounds bigger than the sound that we are used to. I know the exhaust is on both sides now, but still.
@Big Daddy cats are cute and they are hug-able so its a compliment if you say that
Finally , the going in the right direction ..
Can't wait to have this gen car at Talladega and hope they bring back that IROC sound to them.
tbh the single lug nut was tried once before and failed from what I see looks like a cot car modified
Very cool this race car, it's very fast and aerodynamic
Looking at it for the 1st time this new car looks very well done design is imsa like
REVEAL AT DAYTONA 500, TESTED ON ROVAL. ID LIKE TO GO FASTER NOT SLOWER, MORE DRAFT NOT LESS.
Is it just me or do they actually seem faster in the road course ??
It's 3 seconds faster on average than what Chase Elliott's fastest lap in the playoffs
@@TheSuperSquad Holy Breasts
Independent rear suspension as opposed to the solid rear axle they use now I believe
@@weksos8370 Have gone to a rack and pinion steering ?

Pit stops just got alot faster
That sound😍
Nice to see that they put more lights out there on the infield
They're generac lights. Meaning they're temporary.
Are you going to do the same thing when the videos come out with them driving on the oval?
Yes
I would love to see a hybrid system
The sound is awesome! :)
Hope Hemi makes a comeback.. car sounds beautiful
I love downshifts. Nascar needs more road courses
So these are pretty much IROC next gen cars ? The front and back panels both look the same.
They are all spec chassis made by Dallara
Truex Was The First Driver And Kurt Was The Second. I Want To See A Wreck And A Paint Scheme On The Gen 7 Car
I like the concept. It's about time Nascar took their cars into the modern age with the diffuser, sequential gearbox, 18" wheels, and more carbon fiber...
Gives me Goosebumps.
I love the sound. It's like they took the C6.Rs engine and mad it rev to 9,000 rpm
It’s got a nice mean sound for sure
I love the sound too

Sounds like a Yamaha R1 roaring
Gen 7 looks EPIC
So far so good.
It sounds alright to me. Maybe some tweaks to the engine and it'll sound nice.
Hopefully some hub and brake parts will are shared or taken from imsa. Might create a little cost savings across, but just a drop in the ocean.
What Drivetrain is in it?? Chevy, Ford, Dodge??? Sounds awesome 😁

Dang the Charlotte Roval looks nice at night they should Totally run the race at night one day also the car looks nice to
Yes it does. But I think it need more lights in the infield.
NextGen car looks/sounds great, but can we talk about the night Roval please?
I'm getting interested in NASCAR
Awesome!
It's under Rowdy's time.
Sounds badass with good earbuds
Center lug just doesn't seem right. MISSING LUGS JUST MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING.
But if they lose a lug nut now, it's sure gonna be interesting 😆

Been watching V8 supercars for years wondering why aern't we doing that in the US. Now we are.
A V8 Supercar style rear wing would solve the visibility problem which Dale Jr called the "big ass spoiler"
Is that a Chevy front nose with a mustang rear? That's what it looks like. Notice the rear curved bumpers too? Wonder how bump drafting will go.Are these composite body's too?
Yes, they are composite
Is it all going too ok be just one manufacturer?

I wanna see this race an f1 car
Can’t wait to hear this at Daytona🔥
2 questions
1. Will they change the spoiler height to about 3.5 inches or so for short tracks?? Cuz in the pictures, it looks like the car has no spoiler at all
2. Will they test the Next-generation car at the superspeedway tracks like Daytona or Talladega??
They were testing with both big and small to see which one is gonna be better
The spoiler seems to be about 4 inches tall here. Its got a small black bit and the rest is lexan.
The next test is being planned at a superspeedway...probably Daytona.
I love how this thing looks!
I wanna in car gear shift gauges everything that be cool to see like that car but really want inside look in cockpit
