Given that leveraged trading, longs and shorts have always been the norm in tradfi, and that tradfi players have now entered the crypto space in droves, I think these tradfi players are simply bringing their leveraging methods and tools with them so we are going to continue seeing leveraged and longs and shorts no matter what. Does this mean BTC is doomed to stay in a channel indefinitely going forward?
This is only my opinion, but If you still think BTC is Bitcoin and that it hasn't been completely co-opted by the elite, you are asleep at the wheel. Mark my words, in a few years, anyone with non-kyc'ed BTC will never, ever be able to use their coins. Your wallet is on a list and that list will be given to miners by governments and they will be told if you want to keep operating in our country, here's the blacklist. All miners will bend the knee.
