So sweet that you guys are asking all these questions and the grandmas keep saying they don’t remember and are so nonchalant about details but when Matt asks about holding Abby for the first time, they know every detail. 😭 that is so precious!

Your grandma’s are wonderful and I can see how you grew into such an amazing person. I miss my Papa (grandfather) everyday but especially during the holidays but I do try to call my family at least once or twice a week just to see how they are. It is amazing to see how many people can shape you into who you are and it’s a blessing to have family that supports and loves you unconditionally. Keep ignoring the negativity and keep moving forward the way you always have. Merry Christmas from my family to yours 😊🎄

My grandma worked her butt off when she was pregnant. She had 15 children, she milked cows, took care of the house and children, did all of the cooking and baking, washed the laundry by hand and had to haul and heat water… I believe my grandma did much more than most women these days do myself included!

I was so blessed to have had both of my mom’s parents way into my adulthood. In fact my grandparents were my daughter’s child care provider for most of her life. Even though we lived in a different city she was enrolled in the same kindergarten as my mom so she could catch the bus and come home on the bus to grandparents house. After that my grandparents would pick her after school and either stay with her at our house or take her back to their house and I’d pick her up after work. My grandpa used to always say he wished he would have had the time to enjoy his kids as much as he enjoyed mine. She had her great grandmother until she was a preteen and her great grandfather until her adulthood. As much as I loved having my grandparents well into my adulthood, I really realize how fortunate my daughter was to have that bond with her great grandparents. They created such a caring child by all that they invested in her life.

Your Maternal Grandma mentioned Sand Lake MN that is literally like an hour away from me. That is very cool. This was a very sweet Podcast. I was close to my grandparents, and I miss them so much. I am so thankful you have your grandmas in your life. I am a mother of 5 and 3 grandchildren at age 50. I made my mom a grandma at age 43, and my daughter made me a grandma at age 44. Being a mom for the 1st time was so so special and unimaginable but being a grandma amplified all that love. Seeing your children have children is so unexplainable and such a blessing. Thanks for sharing I got a lot of laughs and can relate to what they were saying. I am a 70's baby, and I remember no seatbelts and car seats and so on and so forth.

When I began teaching elementary school in the mid 70's the teachers were allowed to paddle students with a witness. My co-worker (another first year teacher, yet 10 years older than me) asked me to witness a paddling. She had a student being punished by standing against the wall just outside the classroom door, then when she went to have a talk with him there was a puddle of liquid on the floor against the wall, so she thought the child had urinated on the wall & floor while in timeout. Weeks later we both realized that the school's flat roof leaked when it rained and realized that the little boy had NOT urinated! We both felt horrible about that paddling!

They had to use forceps. I had my 2nd daughter in '75 in a much bigger hospital in Boston. I told them NO meds. I had her in 1 1/2 hours, too late for an epidural. So different. The first one i wasn't myself for a week from the meds. My second one i was up and around within an hour of having her. It was great...
