@@icycoolstudios I made the one at 1:08. It was simple, just supers really. We used the weather guy/kid show host at WIS-TV (co-owned at the time) as the announcer. Another one is at 3:28 (after the station id). I made those graphics on a production switcher and shot the anchors with my lighting (the work of JC Burns at TV By Design inspired the anchor transitions). By the way, Burns did the entire graphic look of the station during the "diamond 6" era. I also made the open at 4:07 (5 O'Clock New Orleans) and named the show. It was a bunch of flat artwork back when we first got a "paintbox" in the art department.

The AA 587 crash happened about 60 days after the September 11 attacks. The major buildings in New York City were evacuated out of fears that the crash of AA 587 was another terrorist attack. However terrorism was officially ruled out as the cause by the NTSB, who attributed the causes to inappropriate use of the rudder mechanisms by the first officer in response to wake turbulence.
