    great review on your cannondale upgrades. i have the caad 10 ultegra 2013 size 50 with upgraded mavic wheelset. i have a 95mm stem and was thinking of going shorter to maybe 80mm for more comfort. you went slightly longer although you have slightly smaller frame.

    Hey, nice setup off caad, the last best alu frame !

    Very nice. I made the same upgrades with the same wheels, saddle and tires. For the drivetrain, i used Campagnolo Super Record EPS. I kept the SpideRing for the crankset.

      Nice! I would like to see photos of your bike! I don’t think I have ever seen a CAAD12 with Super Record EPS. Out of curiosity, how would you compare with Shimano?

    • @zoso73
      @zoso73 4 года назад

      @@tokyocyclist2509 The EPS is as good as the Shimano Di2. I have a preference over the ergonomics of the Campag shifters, but charging the EPS is more of hassle, whereas the Di2 is easy to recharge.

    i went the opposite way, from shimano Ultegra to hollowgram SL on the crankset dilemma, the extra nonsense weight of the adapter was the decider for me, i dont see the point of not using a crankset that is lighter than dura ace at a much lower cost.

    damn, my caad12 is about 9.5kg. Apart from wheels where are the biggest weight saving gains made without breaking the bank? I did have a supersix which i crashed but instead of buying another one I just wanna weight save my caad12 and invest in a gravel bike.

    Hi, love your channel. Keep it up!
    - My caad13 has the same creaking noise and I am planning to upgrade the BB like you did. Do you still use the same BB ? How is it after almost a year ?
    - Aside from the looks, is upgrading the chain worth it ?

    • @therealkailau
      @therealkailau 3 года назад

      Get rid of the BB ASAP - literally drove me crazy but worth it. I had my old factory BB for about 3 months before it started creaking and I know a few other people with CAAD12's who have the same, it's notorious for creaking. Grab yourself a c-bear or custom BB and you'll be glad you did :)

      @tokyocyclist2509  4 года назад

      Hi. I am 165cm, so a size 48 might be too small for you. I would go for size 50 instead. However, you do need to take into account your inseam.

      Hey, I am 166cm and I ride a size50 with a 90mm stem and a 42cm handlebar. I have 170cm cranks. The bike fits like a glove. In short a 50cm is perfect for you. Hope this helps. God bless you. Ride safe.

      The CAAD12 also uses a BB30A bottom bracket. I got my C-bear bottom bracket at: www.sigmasports.com/item/C-Bear/BB30A-Cannondale-Bottom-Bracket/EVWS

      Sorry for replying late. It’s been almost 5,000+ km and no creaks. However, it is recommended to take it apart once in a while with fresh anti seize paste.

      @@tokyocyclist2509 did you notice better performance or better bike response after replacing the crank? i compared my CAAD12 with my Tarmac and i notice the Tarmac is very responsive on climbs comparing to CAAD12 even even though the Tarmac is 1.5 lb heaver!!

    The only upgrade you need is to do some yoga. Which is free. Getting more aero is gonna make you significantly faster. Components are really really marginal
