Great analysis, there were a couple of small mistakes, for example, mr. Black did not fight in wars, he reported on them. But the analysis stays the same. Thank you.
Now, the world can be a nasty crazy place out there, we need a lot of courage and we need a lot of resilience after that, and we will fall down before we stand up… What really matters is the silence of the night in our conscience, when we are alone. We cannot control what happens but we can use what happens. We have so much reserves of love and support inside us, if we can just remember that in our mind and move on.
Beautifully put and great insight of Oskar. Maybe because I saw the movie too I believe he’s was trying to escape the pain and anger. When a person shares a terrible fact of his own life on others is a form of unloading but also provoking the realization of loss in those people.
I’m in the middle of the book now, and as I’m not a native English speaker, those other letter made me a bit anxious about my understanding. That’s how I found your video! I won’t watch the second part until I finish the book. Hope the analysis will help me to get all the stylistic things used by the author well. Anyway, the way it’s written is both challenging, educative, and beautiful! I’ve never enjoyed this much complicated grammar before. UPD: thanks a lot for the review! It helped me so much to get those secret ideas of the book. I’d still want to learn what you think of the book design because it’s quite unusual.
You should see the film.. It annoyed me that film critics slammed it....some brilliant performances... I thought Sandra Bullock was just I credible as mother and wife...a very special film......
The ending where he plays out the day in reverse fucked me up so bad, that really pulled my heart strings
