This would add so much to my enjoyment of Microsoft Solitaire that it would absolutely be worth the money. Just a shame it doesn't support Celeron CPUs 🙂 😀 😙
That is quite 'godlike' indeed, with that size and feature-set. Having said that, I see little real world applications for it other than for high-end enthusiasts and overclockers.
Yup, but big companies higher generic people to come up with names. "Hey Jim, what do the kids say nowadays to express something to be really good?" "GODLIKE!" Urgh. MOAB is waaaaay cooler.
I had a very detailed convo with a colleague last night regarding sending back my unopened 12900K after the Ryzen 7k series news and the ASUS board drops! After your very detailed review ... I'm stuck. NEEEEED to see that thing @ work my friend. I would surely invest and keep my i9! It's surely a KILLER mobo and it's been added to my JUNE shootout. HELP!!
I am happy with my ASUS Hero z690, especially because it comes with a PCIE Expansion card, so I can run all my NVME SSD at full speed. I wished though there was a Bios Upgrade coming out, support 4 Slot DDR5 XML Profiles.
It seems interesting. It comes with RAM and Cooling so that's a plus. If it was that price and only a Motherboard... that would make it seem like a less likely choice.
So based purely on aesthetics this board ticks all of the boxes. Mainly the positioning of the connectors. Coupled with a top end aio and all of the M.2’s that in itself becomes a value. Because when you consider a similar aio cost $200 and a add in m.2 card cost $150. Plus the ability to convert this to a test bench for the future. It’s an interesting value preposition. For creators this probably isn’t the best way to allocate your budget. Unless you don’t have a NAS. If you don’t have a NAS then it’s a wash. My next build will have a top tier board because of the feature sets they provide.
if it is the Best Motherboard by MSI that comes with Memory Cards of the HighEnd Memory Cards for it and a High End Water Cooler as a MSI High End Motherboard then it means the Price is fair. it is like they sold you a All High End mini upgrade and Not like buying a Normal Motherboard but a High End that is recomanded by its creator means that they may even add real Gold on it as a Special product, so the Price is fair to me.
Honestly I will plan to get this one day. It would be nice to upgrade my Z690 to this MSI Z690. Though Im not complaining of what Ive got. But amazing made video!
I will be honest as I build multiple "overkill PCs" in the past, nowadays top of the line boards that rivals the MSI GODLIKE are Aorus Extreme/Extreme Waterforce and Asus Extreme/Glacial and all of them with almost similar price point .It all comes down to "Are you willing to spend 1200$ for a motherboard ,DDR5 RAM ,360 AIO and super clean aesthetics ?" I personally do love the board and would love to build in it to feels a bit exclusive ,but that is only me and my personal opinion. Love the Vid and keep it up
I seriously want 1 of each board you named and simply enjoy the tech! As a performing and recording music artist, IT engineer and xtreme PC enthusiast since the early dayz, this next 6 months is going to be exciting!
I absolutely do not need this, but I want it. Lol Can you do a video on the absolute BEST motherboard build for a Photographer/light video user. I’m talking fast memory, Thunderbolt, fastest drives , best video card etc. I built the same built you did in 2020 with the MSI Prestige X570 creator board. It’s still phenomenal but want faster for photo editing. That board does not have Thunderbolt. Love your content.
This is just pathetic, I'm sorry but it is. Taking into account that my favourite build of the previous generation was with a 220 Euro B550 Gigabyte, which I got in a combo with the 5950X (540 Euros). It is still my favourite "creator" Mobo, and the whole system was under 1000 Euros. Why would anyone spend that kind of money on any motherboard (I'm betting this thing doesn't even come with a PLC ship)? Will it do all the work on its own? That would be the only justification I could find for it ;)
This will be the replacement for the x299 boards that are getting impossible to replace. This could be fun to mod a tri caster, with all the m.2s I could see it being a great option.
Nice to see the price drop on it. Hopefully their x670e version is not a less high end version of this like aorus did with their xtreme model vs the x570 gen.
it's a computer in a box! The Godlike is total overkill from MSI but I can attest their more normal offerings that share some commonalities with the Godlike, like the Unify motherboard, are excellent. I don't know who this motherboard is aimed at other than those with more money than sense who believe that conspicuous consumption is an end in itself, and the price is inflated by all the other kit you get in the box, but MSI do make very good gear generally. My B550 Unify board came with the same set of stands which I did use to good effect when bench-testing the basic functionality of my PC before I put it in the case. I can use them on future builds too! Those few who absolutely have to have the top of the range and believe that the more something costs the better it must be will go for the Godlike, if they can*. For the rest of us there are still excellent products way down the price list. Personally I'm looking forward to the X670 motherboards and AM5 chips that are due out later this year. *The Godlike is a limited production halo product meant to generate interest and buzz around the manufacturer. Normal mortals can't even buy a Godlike. You have to have an "in" with MSI, like if you wanted to buy a GT3 from Porsche... (Disclaimer: I'm a bit of an MSI fanboi - 3 of my PCs are built with MSI motherboards; 2 have MSI graphics cards)
Z690 Godlike is built only in 1000 quantity even if someone wants to buy it and able to pay for it, must bought another godlike series before (of course still possible to bypass MSI and buying from a seller who had previous godlikes series board and has new one to sell)
I know you probably don't have it anymore, but was the PCI_E2 slot (the middle one) a power only slot? On mine, I get power, but the motherboard doesn't actually show anything in the slot.
"For Creators" you say. I see a lot of M.2 that keeps you from using them while using the things you need. The rear I/O is nice if they would drop the WIFI. And how would you populate those three "less than" PCIe x16 slots as a video editor? Would be nice to be able to use a PCIe x4 M.2 raid card as a fast scratch disk and maybe an HBA sas card for DAS or local raid array. The 10gig ethernet port might be good for access to a nas. Overall I think this is just eye candy and bragging rights.
Nothing wrong with buying second hand. I have a very good income and can afford new hardware easily, but why should i? It's also good for the enviorement/climate.
Heck if you are still are holding on to the MSI Z690 motherboard and don't want it, I would be very grateful to take it off of your hands. I really want to build a pc off of the MSI Godlike Board. Currently it's out of my price range. By the time MSI drops the price on it the next Godlike MSI drops will be out.
BTW, if you're a serious over-clocker, the MSI Unify-X board is the one to go for: it only has 2 DRAM slots, one per channel, which is how you get the fastest memory signals. The world DDR5 over-clocking records have been set on a Unify-X (well, one of them was recently. Liquid nitrogen cooled too, so ... serious!)
Don't think I'd pay much over 500 for any board. The diminishing return kicks in hard at about 350. And falls off a cliff at 500. Because outside of adding fans, pcie cards, ram, or rgb junk. You'll get the same core exp out of a 350 board as almost any higher price.
I've just finished my latest build with the MSI z690 Tomahawk. I do a bit of everything on my PC, astrophotography image processing, gaming, music, films etc. I can do absolutely everything I need to do using my £250 mobo & wouldn't benefit in the slightest spending an extra £600 for this thing (or whatever it'll cost over here in the rip off uk..... actually probably around £1600 knowing this country, Swiss prices for Somali services) I don't think many people would utilize this board to its fullest at least for another year or so once DDR5, 40 series Nvidia cards & 13th/ 14th Gen Intel become the norm, but by then these type of mobo's will also be heading that way as well. Anyway that's a big, fat NO from me 😂
Greetings sir. What do you think? Have every vendors finished making their every models needed for Z690 chipset? I want a white one and I like the look of Gigabyte Z690 Vision D very much. But there is nothing to be heard since the launch of both 12th Gen Intel and Z690 chipset. Ofc they have Z490 Vision D and Z590 Vision D but there is no Z690. What you think when they can launch Z690 Vision D?
Are the 2 Thunderbolt ports functional for actual data transfer without a video card? I understand the additional capability for video but does that infringe in any way on the TB ports functionality for MIDI etc? Thanks
Yeah nah. This is a halo product - it's a flex by MSI to showcase their engineering abilities - by throwing everything but the kitchen sink at it. It's an open question as the whether an Alder Lake chip could even physically utilise that much power, but I guess it's good to have headroom.
Well then, this board can be had for $1,200,not $2,000 that has been previously reported. That changes thing a little for me. You get A LOT more for the money.
This board is for gaming noobs only, nerdy people that need Tha Best! creative people on PC? Adobe, Maya! Thunderbolt on some Intel CPU, Nvidia card, they only need memory in large amounts.
This would add so much to my enjoyment of Microsoft Solitaire that it would absolutely be worth the money. Just a shame it doesn't support Celeron CPUs 🙂 😀 😙

That is quite 'godlike' indeed, with that size and feature-set.

Very much so!
This should be called MOAB (Mother Of All Boards) instead of Motherboard.
Making the mother of all boards here, Jack. Can't fret over every board

for 1200$ it is 100% worth comes with drr5 ram and cpu cooler.
Really wish i can get a pc for my school work, his vids just brings me happiness
The Best Motherboard keep your another part long term
If this is for Intel z690 why did the back have amd/crossfire labels on it?

I kept waiting it to power up and see all that blinding bright RGB light. Maybe in another video?
Coming out tomorrow :)
Not sure about 7 months ago? But the m.2 slot you said was used previously is the one 5.0 slot on the mobo. The rest are 3.0 and one that’s 3.0.

Check this out: this motherboard has 2 RAM kit. Because all Z690 motherboards are the best with 2 slots only, not 4.

If it comes stock with a ddr5 kit, fans, cpu cooler, and the water cooling stuff on the side. I could see it as almost worth it.
For a creator is this motherboard better than asus Proart z 690 creator. Pl. suggest.
The third m.2 slot runs of cpu , the 6th slot is gen 3
Does this thing have a supported monoblock?
Can't wait to see MSI'S upcoming X670 AM5 most expensive board and....how much it will cost...😎

Not worth it for me. I need 5 pcie slots not 6 m.2 slots.
Would not buy a god like at all. You are spending money that could go to a higher end GPU.
I only stick to motherboards worth under $100 and found in a dumpster.

lol you got der8auer's sloppy seconds!!
hmm i wonder what the hell they're compensating for with that damn box haha
wow now that i continue watching the video they jammed a ton of components in the box
Short answer: no not worth that price.
What a waste of finite materials this board is
Asus be like Hold my beer....
🤣
I'm gonna go ahead and guess "no". Bigger and more expensive than my first car.
Def it's worth watching a video about tho lol.
