    Hey Wally, great puzzle really like it. The chest full of lemons, that cracks me up. Bears Fan eh? Hope my Steelers live up to expectations. Bears / Steelers Superbowl would be epic.
    Thanks Wally & have a great day.

      Oh my gosh, Matt. I would love to see a BEARS-STEELERS Super Bowl! Fun fact... since the Bears have been bad for so long, I adopted the Steelers as my favorite "AFC" team. So... when Da Bears aren't doing to well, I'll be rooting for the black and gold. Cheers from the Midwest!

    Hey there wally DM! I used more of your puzzles again, and i'm commenting the results on the others too (#48, 52, 53).
    It took them just a bit. In my case, i didn't give them the names of the deities, but had asked for religion checks (3.5 edition), knowing full well the clerics high check would be no problem, but he loves rolling for religion, so i let him do it as often as i can. It took them a little while. They were thinking of things like alignment, and domains at first. Thinking the details of the deities themselves held the key. Then suddenly, it just clicked that all the letters in Lord Ao's row AND diagonal fit his name, at which point they smoothly placed deity after deity in the best box.

    great puzzles. My own take would be to use the bookshelf. Shelf unit right next to it would have 3 shelves. top shelf would have multiple books on selune then gond then bane. etc. Hope you all see where I am going with this. Or 3 shelf units with 3 shelves. And each shelf having books on that deity. Perhaps have the bobble collection on a door that closes to the chest. putting the collection together opens the door.

    Hmm, love this puzzle. One clue I would give them is, as the shelf would most likely be quite dusty, I'd say one of the bases has been previously damaged slightly. From the clean(er) spot on the shelf where the miniature came from, you can see where this one would have come from.

    Hey! I remember this puzzle from Discord :P I really had a good time figuring out the answer but the way you presented it seems a lot nicer then my original drawings LOL
    I think I could make it a little more complex or easier depending on the current mood on the day I give it to my players :P
    Credit to both Foerick for the idea and you for the presentation ^^ (I just think bobbleheads or Funko Pop would be a little weird...I would just roll with the simple statues or maybe...symbolic Items *wink Wink*)
    Good luck on that book Wally! There seems to be a high demand for it ;)
    PS: This should have been #51...#50 should be reserved for something special in the future :P

    • @WallyDM
      @WallyDM  5 лет назад

      Exactly. I think this puzzle has a nice range with regards to difficulty. Easy to Difficult and everything in-between. I love these type of options. Yes, Bobbleheads or Funko Pop figures would be a little weird... but that is so my style of running a game. I love to lean against that 4th wall from time-to-time. Simple statues are absolutely fine... better make them unbreakable, however, or be sure that someone in the group has the Mending cantrip! :)
      Sigh... I wish our #50 Live Stream would have happened... no worries though. All of my puzzles are special (lmao). But... let's be ready when it's time to celebrate 100!!! Thanks again my friend!

    Oh I like this one because it involves Deities, and im already thinking of ways to use that (maybe ones mentioned in the campaign, or maybe someone religious has to identify them, etc).
    Also... are those minis by chance the guild models for the game Guilds of Cadwallon? They look familiar...

    • @WallyDM
      @WallyDM  5 лет назад

      Awesome! Super cool that you may be able to use this puzzle in your game, be sure to stop back by and let us know how it goes! And yes, good eye, the plastic miniatures are indeed from the Guilds of Cadwallon. I received this from a friend of mine about five years ago. He bought it off of Kickstarter along with one of the expansion packs. Looks like a fun game - I have to admit, I never played it. But, I was drawn to the minis... I may paint them someday. :)

    • @WallyDM
      @WallyDM  5 лет назад +1

      With the letters surrounding the nine squares as presented in the video, I don't believe so. The way that Foerick (the one created the puzzle) had originally set things up... there may have been. But... I was never able to solve the original (too hard for me) so that's why I went with this version. :) Thank you for the comment my friend, I hope life has been treating you well!

    I wouldn't used thunderwave for if you have other items in the room they would be knocked back and scatter in the room, making the puzzle more hard. Not only that but you also have to add damage to breaking the puzzle. It would also lead to a risk of a spell casting rouge or a rouge teaming with a wizard find the door has a magical trap to it and disarm the thunderwave. Good thought but it won't work the way you hope.
    Now then how I would run the puzzle.
    1 I would make the location a mansion and make a quest to be find some item that the towns folk to scared to get.
    2 Give the party "Bar Lore" information that the place was own by a noble family that in a single night they all including there servant died. They say it's haunted.
    3 As they exploded they see spirits reenacting day to day life not even noticing the party.
    4 as they inter a room they hear a voice "No leave me alone (add name here)!!" It seem to become from a hidden door, no it's one of those safe rooms to hide from rouges or bandits.
    5 They enter the room, there was a boy just playing with his toys on a table in the middle of the room. An other boy walks in and make fun and instault the boy only toy knock all the toys to the floor, after that he leaves. The now crying 1st boy put one of the figures back and then climb into a bed to cry.
    6 The door closed puzzle begins. This even is how the boy died and has been on a loop. If they solve the puzzle the break the loop and the door would open and the gas would be gone.

    • @WallyDM
      @WallyDM  5 лет назад +1

      Heck yes. I absolutely love what you did here! The whole hidden door, safe rooms, all of it. I dig it. Well done!

    • @lainpowers8146
      @lainpowers8146 5 лет назад +1

      @@WallyDM I always ask questions like "why is there a hidden room?" Or "Why is there a puzzle needed here." With the question you can build the story. Also it would stop players from asking them later on if you asked them frist.

    One of the clues I gave with that puzzle was "Beneath the moon in the shadow of darkness the thief prowls" hinting at Selune / Shar / Mask on the left. The puzzle is based on Tic Tac Toe, with each three Gods being a winning line, for example Selune, Lord Ao, Helm is L from corner to corner. The letters were included in the puzzle, scrawled on the wall beside the alcove but not in any orientation just ASOEL ANRML etc.

    • @WallyDM
      @WallyDM  5 лет назад +1

      Hmmm... I should have mentioned that! DMs that know their lore would have really enjoyed the hints in riddle form. For me... I am still new to the lore, I remember only knowing about Selune when you introduced me to this and I had to look up the others, lol.
      Thank you again, my friend, for allowing me to spin this a little bit different than the original. :)

      @WallyDM  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you for the feedback, buddy. I'm actually glad to hear that you think the puzzle has a higher degree of difficulty. I was thinking I made it too easy, but I could not gauge the true difficulty level since I already knew the answer. The original was really hard for me (but I do suck at solving puzzles), so I came up with the best alternative... I'm curious how many viewers solved it before watching the answer. Hmmm....

    • @MarvelX42
      @MarvelX42 5 лет назад +1

      @@WallyDM then again it's very difficult to gauge the difficulty of puzzles especially for a group. With the original puzzle, the puzzle could be rotated in it's solution. Or it could have been mirrored. So there was only 1 solution but 4 rotations and 4 transformations giving 8 possibilities.

    • @Uglyleopard123
      @Uglyleopard123 5 лет назад +1
