Sayonakidori is a song featuring Miku (the backup vocalist and guitar player) singing solo. They have a live acoustic christmas performance they did last year and they put a few vids on their official channel. Just so happens one of those songs is Sayonakidori. If you check it out it will be a departure from what you've seen so far but it is absolutely amazing you won't be disappointed.

MISA - (MEE-sa) - Bass, Born Oct 15, 1992 30 years old, 'the Barefoot Assassin'.
Miku Kobato (MEE-koo) - Founder of the band, Lyricist, rhythm guitar, backing vocals. Born Oct 21, 1991 31 years old, 'the Small Pigeon' (Real name - Mika Noguchi )

Akane Hirose - (AH-ka-nay) - Drums, Born Dec 14, 1990 31 years old, 'the Gorilla'.
Funny you mentioned waiting for the final chord at the end as this song's final chord segues into the live Domination performance you watched before. Go back and play the first few seconds of that to hear the final chord changing to the first chord of Domination.

"They need to turn her mic up a little bit." You noticed the difference in the levels, good catch. Miku had wandered over to Kanami's microphone and I think it caught the sound crew off-guard. Also, it's a different style mic than her normal one and EQ'd for that side of the stage and Mincho's rare vocal contribution.

For the most part, they always wear their maid outfits. If you watch Thrill (official music video) you can see what they looked like before MISA and Saiki drifted from maid outfits to various black dresses. They wore tan and red clothes for their acoustic concert last Christmas. They also have different outfits for their BAND-MAIKO videos.
Here is a list of songs with Miku as the primary vocalist:
Summer Drive - Love, Passion, Matador
Big Dad - MAID IN JAPAN
Beauty and the Beast - New Beginning
TIME - Just Bring It (also acoustic version)
Rock in me - World Domination
Sayonakidori - Unseen World (also acoustic version)
Miku also has a side project called "cluppo" where she is the lead singer

Miku the rhythm guitarist in this video has taken some of the lead as her skills have progressed, even to this day, she is taking more and more lead guitar in addition to rhythm. She has actually just switched her pedal board for a Line 6 Helix, to accommodate her more lead lines. And I keep leaving the following in your comment section, but evidently someone keeps flagging it.

    Now for what I term the Band-Maid Info-Dump;
Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead.
Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition.
Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition.
Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music.
Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance.
And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD!
    ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!!
Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.

Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their RUclips channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill.
Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid.
The following info is from a comment left by RUclips user @DanW60
Thrill was from their album New Beginning which was released in November, 2015. They didn't write any of the songs or lyrics on the album and it was only 33 minutes. As mentioned, Miku didn't even know how to play guitar at the time. The album went nowhere in Japan (Charted on Oricon at #64 -Ed) and their small label called Gump was about to drop them. Gump's plan was to keep Miku and Saiki as a singing and dancing duo and let the rest go. Then a miracle happened. The music video for Thrill became a huge hit on RUclips, especially in the west. Band-Maid was saved and they changed labels to Crown Stones (a sub-label to a really big Japanese media company called Nippon Crown). Their 2016 album, Brand New maid, peaked at #19 on the Japanese charts but only one song was written by Kanami and it was only 31 minutes in length. Finally, in January 2017, they released the album Just Bring It which was a full album at 50 minutes. More importantly, 9 of the 13 songs were written by Kanami. In my opinion, it was the first true Band-Maid album. The album got as high as #16 in Japan and also charted in the UK. The next 3 albums - World Domination, Conqueror and Unseen World - all charted top 10 in Japan and charted overseas. All the songs were written by Kanami. She is the one that has pushed Misa and Akane to be as good as they are now, and also very successfully taught Miku to play guitar.

That was fun. The drummer's name is indeed Akane but it's pronounced A-kah-nay. Others have commented about Saiki, but just to say that I think the reason you were saying "sakura" is because it's a well known Japanese word meaning cherry blossom. It features in the song Blooming, which would be a good one to listen to next.
You said you were going to check out Lovebites? I'm a fan of them too and I recommend Holy War, live. I warn you that the Japanese rabbit-hole is deep and you're going to be getting requests for many many bands.

Just to let you know, Akane's name is pronounced A Ka Ney. No big deal! Miku (Me Coo) is the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist to Saiki (pronounced Cy E Kee) Kanami (Ka Na Me) is the lead guitarist, and Misa (Me Sa) is the bassist (one of the best). I appreciate your reaction to my favorite group in the world. I tell people Band Maid is one of the few groups out there than can melt your face and melt your heart. Some of their softer songs are "Daydreaming" a rock ballad, and "About Us" a lament by Band Maid for their fans because of their inability to perform for them because of the pandemic. This is one of the few bands who have written and performed a song specifically to show their fans they love them and can't wait to perform for them again.

I'll endorse Sayonakidori too as a way to hear Miku singing lead. She has a wonderful voice but Saiki's is more powerful and better suited to hard rock which was why Miku stepped aside and then learned guitar under the tutelage of Kanami. Looking at just their official page the songs Daydreaming or Wonderland are good to hear Saiki sing. The two Band-Maiko MVs would be good to check out also.
Actually you will find out that every song they do is better than good and most are superb. They do earworms that you will love to have going in your head, and do them just so amazingly well.

    And Rock and Roll said:
"You will love BAND-MAID above all things".
BAND-MAID is a band out of the ordinary in every way.
Miku Kobato the rhythm guitarist and co-vocalist is the creator of the band and the one who usually writes the lyrics of the songs, she is the main frontwoman of the band.
The leader of BAND-MAID was the drummer, Akane Hirose, the goddess of tempo, by democratic election among all of them, but nowadays none of them is the leader of BAND-MAID. Saiki Atsumi, the lead vocalist concentrates on that, although when she takes the lead in the song she takes over the whole stage. Misa the bassist usually plays barefoot and although it seems that she is always a bit in the shadows her bass shines constantly throughout the song and Kanami Tono, the lead guitarist, is the personalization of the Magic, which at times is Black at times is White but always bewitches you, she is the composer of most of the songs of the Band.
Their Rock does not conform to any genre or any established pattern, they own their own style, both visually and musically. You can call it The BAND-MAID Rules.
If you have time to dig a little deeper you will never ever want to go back to the surface.
    "🤘🤘 B A N D M A I D H E A D ! ! ! 🤘🤘"

Band-Maid has many different dimensions and styles, and some of their songs suit the rhythm guitarist's voice better.
I love Rock in Me probably the best...it's just catchy af. If you love Akane like me, Sayonakidori is an awesome track lead by Miku the rhythm guitarist. Time is another gem. There's a song called freezer, which isn't Miku lead song, but an awesome dual-vocal song it's a perfect combination of Saiki (Psyke) the lead singer and Miku. Miku has the cuter, poppier vocal and Saiki has the deeper, more rock, slightly masculine vocal.

    1) Sayonakidori (acoustic live online). Theoretically for a limited time. This is Miku (rhythm guitar and vocals), MISA (bass), and Akane (drums, Ah - Kah - Nay) from their Christmas acoustic concert. Miku sings lead, Akane sings backup. Saiki and Kanami were on a break.
    2) Manners/Black Hole (live online). This 2fer shows SOME of their versatility, showcasing traditional groove rock with a bit of speed metal.

Also listen to Misa's bass slides that are so good I giggle when they happen. I do have to say something that no one else seems to be addressing, These women are not GIRLS, they are all in their 30's, so please stop calling them GIRLS. Would you call AC/DC or Arrowsmith BOYS? I suggest using that as a barometer. If you would not use the equal term about the gender of the group members. I cringe when you say it. Thanks
