Appreciate your actual mechanical analysis. Too many videos out there who default to Ohlins R&T without giving a single thought what the mechanical aspects are. I can’t imagine spending thousands of dollars without paying close attention to what I’m buying.

Great info and insite into the suspension available for the GR Adriano, the BOS intermediate kit looks interesting and any info on this would be great.

As a matter of fact I voted for the 7500. Easy brainer, half the price of the proper Racing Suspension. The Tarmac one can get you up and down the Alps at Nurbourgring and back in style. So expensive, though.

Very good video and info Adriano, thank you for that! I would be very interested in the BOS kit, but it would have to come with a roadworthy certificate. This way it can be run with full insurance and there is no issue with police. Cheers

Thanks for the video! For now I'm going to ohlins R/T for a couple of reasons: i had good discount, I'm going to push car on dry track mostly and it fits my dna top mount camber plate for my -3.5-4 front camber needs. In few months I can share my feelings based on various track tests and will think if I need of smth higher level.

As I live and drive in Switzerland I would need the proper documents for the kit that are aceptet by the swiss TüV.
In many cases the swiss authority acept what has passed the german TüV.
I have good connection to the swiss Tüv (its called MFK).

Since you published your videos about BOS suspension, I've been looking into buying a Road kit because I don't track the GR Yaris, (I have a dedicated track tool for that), I use the GR Yaris only for fast road use / wanna-be rally stages and recces, and find the Circuit pack suspension a bit bouncy at low speeds while absorbing quite well at higher speeds. Now I'm no pro driver, but this video has confirmed some of my thoughts, like avoiding the Ohlins R & T kit with their 80 N/mm springs and end up coming back to BOS because it's the only kit with "soft" OEM value 37 N/mm springs and they feature that excellent road shock absorber hydraulic technology. (By the way, I had put a set of those in my basket on their website, been sitting there for several weeks the time for me to find info on other makers, and about two weeks ago the price of the R&T kit went up 10 % from 4000 € to 4 400 € !!! I lost too much time exploring other options and didn't see it coming !!
Other than that, to answer your question, yes I would love a video digging deeper into the BOS suspension kits, I really would appreciate to learn more.

The Corolla is a different platform: not having the car here, its difficult to say, but all the general rules will apply!
Great video. I would love to hear how does 3 way bos or reiger on tarmac spec compare to track-focused suspension like Bilstein. Also how much effort is it to change the setup from smooth tarmac to rough tarmac or to gravel. Is it just the springs and twisting the nobs or do you have to change valves within the strut for that?

First of all you will be happy to know that new, very serious kits are arriving, news soon…
The rally tarmac dampers are much more complex than the track ones, and work with travel in mind. With the new kits you can compensate a lot with the hydraulics only, but spring changes will be needed for Catalunya or track flat surfaces to bumpy road and lower grip such as Montecarlo. Because also weather and surface have a big impact on this.
More content will be coming next month about suspension, as we will share as much as possible of the build
Thank you for pointing out something I have believed for a while. Ohlins R&T is the most overrated off the shelf product that leverages a quality name to sell a cookie cutter product at a premium price.

I live in Germany so I sadly can only pick suspension kit‘s that have TÜV papers.
Could you please be so kind and help me pick one for my GR Yaris?
At the moment I am on 225/40 PS4S. When these have weared down I will get 235/40 Continental SuperSport7 tyres for the summer.
I do daily driving, Rallying on street roads at events & occasionally a track day.
I can choose between the following TÜV suspension kits:
Bilstein B16 PSS10,
Öhlins R&T,
KW V3 Inox,
KW V4 Clubsport,
ST XTA Plus3,
H&R Monotube &
H&R Clubsport.
The KW, H&R and ST have a minimum lowering of 25mm and a max lowering of 45mm.
The Öhlins has a minimum lowering of 5mm and a maximum of 30mm.
The Bilstein has a minimum lowering of 10mm and a maximum of 35mm.
I also use the Prior Design aerodynamic bodykit for the gr yaris, which makes the gr yaris all around 2-3cm lower by default.

Among the proposed sets KW V4 would be my first choice, otherwise V3 and PSS10 are ok, whatever you can buy cheaper
Hi Adriano! What do you think about the BC Racing and Bilstein B16 coilovers (for road use)?
BOS looks stunning but unfortunately it does not come with the homologation papers for Switzerland
I personally have no experience with BC racing and untill proven wrong by myself thru testing, I would stay away from it.
Bilstein B16 is the PSS10 I was referring to in the video. Great for normal road driving, ultimately narrow damping window but good TUV option!
Hmm, difficult, I'm also not sure what kit I will install. K&W, the factory in Germany is 70 km from my home. The clubsport waranty is working only if you make every 2 or 3 Years the service. ( suspension out of the car and send to K&W. This I don't like. Öhlins also, I'm not sure. Maybe a good BOS fast road kit with German Gutachten or Tüv can be a good option. Will see what the community speaks. 98 % hard and bad Road needs something good. Also, the price must be payable. Nobody needs a kit on the road for 7000 ore 8000 Euro. 4500 Euro for the Öhlins ore the kw clubsport is high same, same.😊
I understand your point: every coilover needs servicing about every two years maximum …
BOS doesn’t have TUV unfortunately
Oh thats too bad - I know one of the company owners. The one way can be later updated to hbs but it requires ext reservoirs. But bos or bigem good options for rally recce road etc with not too sticky tires!

I agree with everything you say, very interesting options
good overview, but in my view you have an inaccuracy at 2:52. there are coilover kits, which have separated lower perch and fully threaded schock body. this allows to set the ride height independently from the spring pretension. there are kits where you can vary the height using a circlip under the spring seat. and then there are kits where the height is fixed and the only setting for the spring is the pretension.
corner weighting is then usually done with spring pretension.
yes, you can vary the ride height with pretension too, but to an extend. too much of pretension will ruin small bump sensitivity, doing even more can damage the spring, shock mounts or suspension components.
also you could mention a little bit the differencies like monotube vs. twintube construction, inverted, etc.
Yes of course, like the Ohlins. You are correct, this video doesn’t get into that level of detail, but thankyou for pointing it out

Would something like a good set of springs (like Eibach) + your stock suspension alignment be a budget alternative?
Not in my opinion, because at -20mm you are already encountering camber gain… soon there will be a video on geometry of fron LCA/McPherson strut that will explain.
In my opinion, you loose too much bump travel and with camber gains (if not fixed), the disadvantages are more than gains
@@AJClubsport thanks, what about something like anti roll bars instead of the springs?
Anti roll bars are ok if you mainly do track with sticky tires, but it will always be at cost of outright grip. Also our torsen differentials open if one wheel looses traction, and this mod makes this happen a bit more. I wish there was an ARB kit with four positions, starting from stock stiffness…
It's a pity that most of the interesting ones don't have TÜV papers...

Coming from MTB scene and BOS is not welcome in cyclist crowd as far as I seen. The reason is that simple customer support and service often became a nightmare. Hope their automotive part of the company is bringing a better experience.
