It was meant as a threat too. After all, Floki killed Athelstan because he loved Ragnar, and is teaching Ivar to be a real viking because he is the son of Ragnar. Just like Rollo lived in the shadow of his brother and resented him, Floki decided to become the shadow of Ragnar.

If goofy Euron can make 1,000 ships on an island with no trees in about a week, I’m going to bet Floki can lead an army of lumberjacking Vikings in the French forrest to get the wood for his contraptions in a timely manner.
They’re actually showing a passage of time thou here in Vikings- have so from the beginning (& also to assume that Euron built 1000 ships on an island w no trees in about a week is very presumptuous).
I mean wth was asian girl thinking, you cant blackmail king of vikings. He done what was necessary. And no way in hell she was emperor daughter. More like some sort of witch, and she got him on drugs so she can use him and manipulate him.
@@jsmith1214 I find it far more likely she was the emperors daughter. The drugs she used as a way for him to depend on her and as a power move on her part though.
Being a Viking doesn’t mean they’re all in one stereotypical box. Being a Viking didn’t mean you were also a murderer by default. Some didn’t at all. Killing someone during a drug fuelled high someone can plead “I didn’t mean to I didn’t know what I was doing”, but going through withdrawal is not the same. No excuse.
@@MothproofKT The excuse was she was going to out his secret and that would certainly lead to his downfall and that would not only risk his families lives but also his peoples lives because they would be unsuccessful without him leading. Killing her became necessary and part of the bigger picture.
Came here to say exactly that! They had mad skills when it came to hauling their boats over land - and they did the same over ice too :) That was one of the advantages of the flat bottom on their ships :)
I just wanted to say that. That's why Vikings were this successful. Their boats are made for traveling on high sea and they are relatively light and flat so you can even use them effectively in rivers and travel over land with them.
The real life Vikings really did the ships above the land tactic. They used this to get around the terrain of Russia in order to get into the Black Sea and open up a shorter trade route with The Turks instead of having to go all the way around the long way. And it was called Portaging. This episode is obviously inspired by that and while not 100% accurate in terms of France, still it is grounded in real life tactics they used to use.
I didn't think Ragnar did was crazy at all !! If she had revealed the secret people would've thought Ragnar betrayed them all he wanted was ppl to focus on Paris .. and later think of revenge.if ppl knew they would abandon Paris and think of revenge against ecbert..and also one way of dealing with addiction is to kill the source 😂
Honestly, Yidu should have kept that to herself. She saw how crazy he was being! Obviously I don't think she deservered to die, but it was foolish all the same. Ragnar is twice her size, a powerful Viking king and he was clearly acting unhinged. I wish she'd have practiced caution.
Not sure if I recall this correctly, but didn't he kill the person who delivered him that news of the slaughter in England? This seemed perfectly in line with that. She made a threat and he acted on it. Him being in the addict zone probably didn't help either. So I agree.
@@roseofthegarden_ Ragnar trusted her with the secret ..and what's more,Rollo clearly repelled the attack on Paris,Ragnar was going through a crisis trying to get his men in order and this is the time yidu chooses to betray him ?? @@1BuFo I do. Kwen is crazy but she's at least got personality, an interesting backstory that's sympathetic and can fight like hell when she has to. Judith is just an annoying, entitled, cheating bitch.
I hated Kwenthrith she was such a hypocrite and got herself into all her bad situations. She screamed at Ecbert for being a monster and asked how he could sleep at night all because he conquered her throne back fairly and decided to keep it? While she murdered her own brother in cold blood just because she didn't want to share.
I'm not against Ragnar, but I'm just glad that Rollo finally found a place in the world, that went beyond the footnote of being "Brother of Ragnar". Developing strategies against his own people and betraying Ragnar is awful. No doubt about that. Rollo himself lacked self-worth, his own identity. Betraying Ragnar here is the first time that he made a decision by himself. He wasn't talked into it by Jarl Borg, he didn't do it on his brother's orders or to save his brother's family. He did it for himself. He did it because now he is someone. Now he is Rollo, the duke. He's someone and not just someone's brother. It's the curse of the siblings of famous people, I think. Weird comparison...but look at the Jackson 5, for example, and how the fame of Michael Jackson affected that family. TL;DR: As you (Steven) said...none of these people are idealistic heroes. After 4 seasons of misery Rollo finally found his place. Something, although other characters don't realize that, Ragnar is struggling with aswell.
Senna... I would not be against Rollo if he did not kill his own people that stayed behind with him. He could have worked it out so they were not slaughtered. Killing even the children was beyond necessary and extremely selfish, which is why he had it done.
@@SennaHawx This is true. Ragnar literally let people die just to teach Floki a lesson. He killed a man from his people to keep his secret of the Vikings settlement. He's far from a saint. He said it himself, he's corrupt. I still love him, flaws and all. But he's done some _very_ side eye worthy shit that I honestly feel people do wave aside because his character is so interesting and ultimately likeable. It's the same with Ecbert imo. They are such good _characters_ , even though they are not necessarily good _people_ all the time, that you want to look past their obviously corrupt behaviors. I try to keep that in mind, while still appreciating.
I love this take of yours, Steve. Too often, when people watch these type of shows, they judge the characters' behavior on current mores and societal norms. While understandable, anytime you judge a past culture (especially one from more than a thousand years ago) based on what we think and do today, it's probably going to lessen your ability to become attached to some characters and their actions. I stand by Ragnar, Bjorn, Laegertha, and the like. Down with Rollo. Also, I just love you guys. If you're looking for some new shows, here are a couple suggestions: Altered Carbon (Netflix), Titans (DC Universe), The Boys (Amazon Prime).
@@WooBearCub it's quite opposite actually. In later episodes the actor who acts Bjorn is trying so hard to be like Travis Fimmel and It's really cringy lol. He's zero acting skills tbh.
@@nekrospike That wasn't my point. He started acting like him at a certain season not from the start which makes it forced IMO. If he acted like him from the beginning it would be okay. I don't want to talk anything in detail because i don't want to spoil anything at all.
Historically, Vikings, particul;arly the Rus Vikings of modern -day Russia and Ukraine, were quite skilled at portaging around river obstacles. This is one of the reasons they were able to set up such a vast trade network all across Europe, from Ireland to Constantinople and beyond. Their boats were much lighter than what you might expect due to their advanced (for the time) construction methods. They truly were masters of both river and sea. Great in-depth analysis and reaction, as always!
Actually its surprising how quickly ancient and medieval armies could achieve feats like this. You have to remember its an army and part of what they do is gather lumber, and craft engines of war. That many men could clear a huge tract of woodland in a few days and set up supply lines to bring the lumber back to camp. Siege engines, bridges, towers and other constructions could be put together and taken down extremely quickly. Remember huge groups of men would be working shifts so there would never be any downtime. In the First Crusade when laying siege to Jerusalem Crusaders were able to dissemble their towers and move them to a completely different part of the wall in a single night.
Dan Carlin said that Roman armies were half soldiers/half construction workers. Armies would spend the within sight of each other and overnight the Romans would have built elaborate defensive fortifications
Speaking of addicting. I'm addicted to watching you guys here. Besides it's the only way I can see Vikings since I just discovered it this week. I've been watching you review and react to these episodes every day when I get home from work LOL Four nights in a row Ha Ha. Cheers from Canada.
Eidu was about to tell everyone about the settlement being destroyed. Yeah what Ragnar did was shitty, but he had no choice. Same reason why he killed that old man that told him about the settlement. Couldn't risk the news getting out.
She threatened him, what else was Ragnar supposed to do? She brought it upon herself by making a threat that she couldn't back up. This wasn't Ragnar being insane, he was perfectly rational. Besides, she was clearly manipulating him and getting him addicted to that drug so that she would have control over him and would be able to elevate her own position. Ragnar wanted her to be like Athelstan, but she clearly wasn't like Athelstan, she didn't love him or grow to care for him, there was no mutual respect, she was a slave trying to make the best of her situation, and she was willing to harm Ragnar's sanity in order to do so, making her a threat that needed to be eliminated, even if she didn't also literally threaten him by saying she would reveal the secret about the settlement in England.
This is pure speculation though. We don't know anything about why she really did this. No deeper plan waa ever uncovered. You can attach insidious reasons, but you can just as easily say she wanted to help Ragnar in her own way, especially when she thought he'd freed her. But she grew angry when he revealed she wasn't actually free at all.
So, fun fact about the Viking longships, they were pretty marvelous crafts. Not only did their construction allow these, light, shallow-draft boats to cross the ocean but they could go up rivers. And, they were light enough that the Vikings could portage their ships over land if the circumstances arise.
Imagine telling someone your darkest secret and then the person threatens to tell it to everbody as soon as you had an argument, not very trustworthy and his reputation and realm depended on it. Even if she just wanted to provoacate him there is a certain line you don't cross because the other person can't tell anymore about your intentions and trustworthiness. On top of that he owned her and basically wouldn't have to face any consequences for murdering her.
I root for Rollo because I like the actor and because quite frankly I am influenced by historical events. Eventually you may be able to look up certain things. I also never forget that Ragnar and his Vikings are the invaders and the innocent people of Paris or Wessex don't deserve to be brutalized and raped and killed by a bunch of invaders - no matter how charismatic Ragnar is. Nobody in France or Wessex went to invade the Vikings home land.
Yidu never had good intentions, she wanted to get Ragnar addicted to that medicine which is why she had that lil smile when they were tripping together. She knew what she was doing. And Ragnar is not gonna risk her telling everyone what only Floki knows because he knows it would ruin him with his ppl. Now did she deserve to get drown, noo, but when you make a threat like that to someone who's already losing his marbles a lil bit then shit happens. 🤷🏻♀️ its better for Ragnar for her to be gone cause then he has no choice but to get off that shit
The way this show is going and has been going, it is only right to root for ragnar and them. Why would we be rooting for paris when we didn't root for england, doesn't make sense. RAGNAR FOREVER!
Well, technically it isn't England, not yet, and not as we know it today. In this time it was a Saxon ruled land of kingdoms, not a country. England didn't become a unified country until 927. And then it didn't become the England we know it as today until after 1066. So, as an Englishman I was still rooting for Ragnar and Rollo during this series, as Ecbert and the Saxons are not my descendants, if that makes sense :)
@@paulmccloud9395 It does. But that's besides the point, the show was made for us to be rooting for ragnar since it only shows us his perspectives and the show is called vikings since it's about the vikings. Coming from another Englishman
I dunno about everyone else, but I was never mad at England or Paris for defending themselves or wanting revenge. I watched this show from the jump thinking the Vikings in this case were the technical villains. It didn't stop me from liking the characters on all sides, or wanting my faves to live. And no, that doesn't mean those they plundered, like Paris, wouldn't be the villains in another story. Simply that they weren't in this one.
@@roseofthegarden_ And I respect your opinion. But I do think rollo is a villian because of how much times ragnar spared him and did for him and he goes and betrays him like that. Like Steven said there are other to gain fame then by betraying your brother.
@@roseofthegarden_ Exactly. I loved Ragnar, that doesn't mean I have to support everything he does. And it doesn't mean I can't support Paris for defending itself, and they were the innocents in this battle. For them to win, Ragnar has to lose.
I always had liked Kwenthrith she was fun to watch. Sad to see her go... not to compare shows obviously but she alway had reminded me just a bit of Margaery. Only really wanted to live life as a queen but something always came in the way.

Nikki: You don't go killing people like that! You mean like the last time Ragnar killed someone to cover up the slaughtered settlement? When he was sober?
Don't forget that Floki has hundreds if not thousands of helping hands, almost all of them in some way skilled craftsmen. Still several weeks. But that shit gets done faster than people think. Had some related mindblowing expieriences with the military in my time. You can get impressed what a determined crowd gets achieved in no time if you have an encouraging officer in charge. 😎😁
Well, thanks for the input, it helps me understand. And I guess the cliff might have been a better place to do all this because it was possibly farther away from transited paths than other parts of the river. But the way it's shown in the show, I keep wondering why wouldn't they just get the boats out of the river at a nice river bank, and then mount them on some wheels, instead of all the contraptions they had to make. And how could they spend weeks doing all this without some scouts from Rollo discovering them? I mean, Rollo knew his brother wouldn't give up, so why wouldn't he send scouts to learn what the Vikings were doing?
@@aaronia8092 the answer to these questions lies in the distance of the location to paris and the terrain in between. And one answer is that a cliff isn't a place scouts would go looking. But you would need your own scouts to make sure of course. And the other thing about the location is this...weels are hard to make. You need saws for planks or boards. But they had mostly axes as tools. So you have to roll the boats on logs instead. Now try that uphill. You would have to make something, a construction of sorts for the ropes to help pulling...every few dozen meters/yards to assist the pulling. For every ship. Over miles. With the cliff you only need one such construction and only there. From there on it is only rolling downhill. Still hard work. But way more easy. I am actually impressed by the writers of the show how they handled things. It doesn't hurt that it looks impressive either i guess.😁
I think Ragnar did right to kill her, she said: „You made the mistake of telling me about the slaughter of the families in Wessex“. And no one threatens Ragnar.
Actually he betrayed Ragnar 3 times, the first betrayal was when Rollo confessed his love to Lagertha. Trying to steal your brothers wife is a scumbag move.
To be fair guys that girl got Ragnar addicted to a drug she knew she could manipulate him with, causing many bad decisions and Ragnar ignoring problems with his people. She also probably lied about being the kings daughter and should never have threatened to tell his secret. It is hard to not kind of root for both sides after awhile as Rolo settles into his new life, but still miss him as a viking warrior most.
Not months.. DAYS!!! The show is set in 800-900 AC. A thousand years before this time the Romans had amazing military engeneering and could beild briges, seige engines, ships and other in a matter of days. The vikings were not that advanced but were still prety advanced for the time. So that entire operation of transfering the boats probably took no more than 2 weeks max.
Regarding Rollo and any sympathy or support for what he's doing, agree with everything you said. From a story perspective, with Ragnar as the principal protagonist, Rollo is a straight up villain. He betrayed his brother, his family, people and culture multiple times. But... From a purely objective perspective in this possible interpretation of history, considering both sides of this war and these raids, Rollo going over to support and lead Paris in the defence of their city clearly balanced the strengths of the Vikings and the Parisians. Yes, Rollo is acting out of purely selfish motivations, but regardless of that, whether he ended up doing it for greed or for noble reasons, his effect in legitimately supporting Paris would be the same. He lead a very successful defence last episode, met strength with strength, and in repelling the Vikings (whom we are sympathetic to because this is their story), he may have saved more lives. Consider if Rollo had not gone over, and Paris suffered years upon years of numerous raids and perhaps even prolonged wars that they were unable to defend against. That would have cost many thousands of lives, mostly civilians, as compared to the hundreds of willing warriors suffering and dying here and now. But also, yeah, screw Rollo.
I started watching you guys around the time game of thrones season 8 was out. I have to say that I love your reactions on GOT, Chernobyl and Vikings. They are so authentic and have raw honesty. Every video I will watch and I have started watching your reactions on Stranger Things. You may not read this, but keep it up!
Ragnar is focusing on the Paris mission right now. When someone learns about the Wessex case, nobody would follow him anymore. This is his greatest fear. So this murder was more a political move. Yidu risked her life when she had threated him. It was of course a very shocking scene. We love Ragnar but... he isn't a hero. You know... the vikings were cruel. And the christians as well. This series show us the light and shadows of both religions.
At 12:43. Oh, never mind. This will not be a camp but the place where they will lift boats. This is actually something that happened in the second Siege of Paris in 885 AD, the lifting of Viking boats and carrying them overland to bypass the riverside forts. Again, very crafty. This is also how the Turks were able to conquer Constantinople in 1453--they carried a huge number of boats overland, and this allowed the Turks to completely surround the city by land and water.
I totally forgot that he killed the medicine princess. She just threatened to out him to his people. If anyone found out, he’d loose everything. Bye bye medicine princess!
25:00 he's in his right mind. She threatened to tell people about the English settlement that he knew about was murdered. It was Machiavellian for him to kill her
To think, if Ragnar didn't step out on Lagartha Aslaug wouldn't have given him sons that needed to be saved by Siggy & Rolo wouldn't have been heartbroken enough to stay behind ultimately betraying everyone to be with Gisla. Shoulda respected your woman dude; just say'n
Consider that Ragnar doesnt really care about anything or anyone at this point(a part from lagherya and the kids) and not that yidu was a good person either But Yes He is kind of losing it, since Athelstan died He is really broken and this lead to do stuff of doubtly morality. I am not forgiving him for these mistakes i just Think He is really conflicted right now
Start thinking about the fact. The only reason all these Vikings died. In the past was for Ragnar to get that settlement. So everything he worked betrayed and killed for is gone So in turn everything he did was for nothing. Plus being in pain constantly. His starting to loss it
At 16:29. These men are quite pragmatic. They think like engineers. A pulley system to pull up those boats over a cliff and down a mountainside is quite sophisticated. So they're proud to be with someone who can think so intelligently, and has the genius of Floki to make it happen, even if they haven't won a battle yet.
The Spartans I believe originally carried their boats over a large stretch of land to flank the Athenian army. So the tactic of moving boats along land has been done before. But I do love Floki making it possible for Ragnar
Honestly, Tywin was one of the few characters who was consistently actually intelligent instead of the writing pretending he was intelligent, Vikings doesn’t do that.
I think the head Ragnar saw is Mimer from ancient Norse mythology. Mimer was once the guardian of the fountain of wisdom and the wisest of all beings. Odin sacrifices one of his eyes to drink from the fountain, gaining his all-seeing abilities. Mimer was later beheaded by the Vanir (enemies of the Aesir) Odin took Mimers head and put spells on it too keep it from rottening, making it speak to him and reveal hidden secrets.
Just FYI Steven Vikings used Portage a lot and did it quickly the boats yes were heavy yet fairly light and maneuverable on land Google Viking boat portage its how they got through Russia to the black sea then Constantinople :D
The dragging the boats across the land part was actually done by the Ottomans in the siege of Constantinople during the fall of the last Roman city in 1453 CE. It's pretty crazy shit.
Floki is a master builder, he's not the only one cutting the wood tho, the entire crews of all the boats are doing the work of cutting, Floki is just the guy who tells them what to cut and where to put it
Ecbert/Egbert's great grand daughter was Æthelflæd, Lady of the Mercians was a great queen, think~ somewhere between boudica and elizabeth 1, but she is mostly forgotten.
At 12:10. OMFG!!! NOW Ragnar has the bright idea of setting up the base camp on a defensible hill that's hard to reach by French forces??? Jesus, this man exasperates me...
Man, when Ragnar kills her in this episode, that shit is real fucking uncomfortable to watch. And that says a lot, considering what you see on this show.
At 24:01. Well, I also see this murder as a way for Ragnar to kill off his drug addiction. Let's not forget that Ragnar is sharp as a whip. He realized he was being slowly poisoned by this woman, so if he got rid of his only dealer, then he forces himself to detox from his drug addiction. It's Ragnar's unique rehab. LOL.
The carrying boat thing actually happened and was done by sultan mohamed al fatih during his conquest of Constantinople where they carried their boats across the mountain to the other side of the enemy. btw wtf are you doing ragnar!!!
This show is just trippy as fuck sometimes. Absolutely, Aslaug (definitely spelt it wrong, my bad!) needs a good friend to sit down and chat with. Men who do wrong and flip it into something they can be pissed off about to avoid apologising or doing better, people like that are everywhere in life. Ladies, just flip em the bird and walk away! 👏🏻 Not 👏🏻 worth 👏🏻 your 👏🏻 time! The thing with Ragnar is, Ragnar didn’t kill the woman during a drug fuelled high. He did it when going through withdrawal. People on a high can plead “I did it whilst under the influence and had no idea”, but people going through withdrawal can’t. We all know he’s capable of murder, but murdering a woman he told was free and all that, all because he feels shit whilst going through withdrawal? Nah he’s lost his damn mind.
You might be surprised but the work they had to do probably only took a week. They do have an army with them and those Norsemen are capable workers. Lokie probably organized the operation of getting the wood and building the contraptions, but he had plenty of help. As for moving the boats, it really comes down to how hard the terrain is after they are up the cliff. That would probably take the batter part of a few weeks to over a month worse case. Also depends on weather.
Lol love yal! But it's hilarious how all of us try and find excuses for our favorite characters even though they're clearly in the wrong haha we all do it! *ragnar: murders someone to keep something even worse hidden.. *nikki: but he is on drugs!
Pretty much. He wasn't on drugs when he lie to his people about the settlement because it would make him look bad for trusting Ecbert and just wanted to see Paris
It definitely would take a lot of time for their ships to 'simply slide back into the water,' gathering the wood, making the the contraptions to pull the ships, eating, sleep but also don't forget the time it would take to make sure no Frankish scout made it back to Paris to tell them of this plan.
This show and I have had a love/hate relationship ever since the end of season 3. The main reason is the time jumps they JUMP over. It gets worse as time goes on here, but the storyline never fades from sight which is why I continue to love it. By the way, what do you think about Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye knowing all about his mother infidelities and being the one who reveal her Harbard´s "ways" or "methods". And the asian girl, she manipulated Ragnar with the drug, and then was stupid enough to threaten him. What was she hoping to happen? The boat lifting and moving to the river is not gonna take too much, and historycally, vikings did some things like that.

We all love Ragnar but we must never forget that he is a Viking. He will make you feel bad from times to times.
Exactly
Vikings actually carried their boats over land on several of their routes. Through Russia and on to Constantinple
Came here to say exactly that! They had mad skills when it came to hauling their boats over land - and they did the same over ice too :)
That was one of the advantages of the flat bottom on their ships :)
"So much for being on a level of Athlestan".
Me: Honestly, she was never even close to Athlestan's level.
Big facts. Hell, girl wasn't even on level of Aslaug tbh. At least Aslaug gave him children. Yidu was a distraction, her drugs gave him that.

I had fun debating with you Steven. I respect your opinions and I love you and Nikki's reactions. Keep it up! 😁😁😁
If ragnar thought killing his own camp provided him with fame or achieved some goal of his he would do it in a heartbeat
@@AH-yu2pi Ragnar did something very similar to that, just to teach Floki and the other leaders of his raid party that they should follow him blindly
@@SennaHawx you make a good point. Which is why I don't consider Ragnar as highly as some. But like Eckbert, I find him interesting.
"I always true to the gods, And Ragnar" - Floki
I love this take of yours, Steve. Too often, when people watch these type of shows, they judge the characters' behavior on current mores and societal norms. While understandable, anytime you judge a past culture (especially one from more than a thousand years ago) based on what we think and do today, it's probably going to lessen your ability to become attached to some characters and their actions.
I stand by Ragnar, Bjorn, Laegertha, and the like. Down with Rollo.

Yes, from the way they were talking I think they thought Floki did all of this by himself.
Ragnar went full "come for the king you better not miss" xD
Why would they? There’s nothing there but rock that’s why the Vikings sought out other lands in the first place
Rollo brutalised, raped and kill in France fir about 35 years before settling in Normandy

Yes, I don't see someone can be more upset with him over her than when he killed the farmer.
Actually he betrayed Ragnar 3 times, the first betrayal was when Rollo confessed his love to Lagertha.
Trying to steal your brothers wife is a scumbag move.
What about stealing your brothers girl and marrying her
100% agree with your rant about Rollo!

It was Machiavellian for him to kill her
Moving ships across land from one waterway to another was common practice for Vikings on their journeys.
Consider that Ragnar doesnt really care about anything or anyone at this point(a part from lagherya and the kids) and not that yidu was a good person either
But Yes He is kind of losing it, since Athelstan died He is really broken and this lead to do stuff of doubtly morality. I am not forgiving him for these mistakes i just Think He is really conflicted right now
Start thinking about the fact.
The only reason all these Vikings died. In the past was for Ragnar to get that settlement. So everything he worked betrayed and killed for is gone
So in turn everything he did was for nothing.
Floki saying everything he does is for Ragnar is so awsome I love Floki
I've been waiting for this all year.
The Spartans I believe originally carried their boats over a large stretch of land to flank the Athenian army. So the tactic of moving boats along land has been done before. But I do love Floki making it possible for Ragnar

Real Vikings did it too.

Hi Nikki & Steven, Yes 👍 Steven love your input
Man, when Ragnar kills her in this episode, that shit is real fucking uncomfortable to watch. And that says a lot, considering what you see on this show.
Yea you’re right confusing also I thought she’ll stay long in this season
ragnar said she was free to come and go from this place as she pleased. she is only free in that hut.
13:42 that "indeed" was funny. Such a savage
Doesn't matter she was his slave he can do whatever he wants to her and it's fine
i love how steven went off at rollo lmaoo
It definitely would take a lot of time for their ships to 'simply slide back into the water,' gathering the wood, making the the contraptions to pull the ships, eating, sleep but also don't forget the time it would take to make sure no Frankish scout made it back to Paris to tell them of this plan.
This show and I have had a love/hate relationship ever since the end of season 3. The main reason is the time jumps they JUMP over. It gets worse as time goes on here, but the storyline never fades from sight which is why I continue to love it.
I will say that Rollo...He's a secondary favorite of mine...Along with Finehair and Halfdan. Granted I've seen the fruits of the show soooooo I'm a bit like the seer at this point.

Being the daughter of an emperor you'd think she would've known better. But she also realized the monster she created and was even conflicted.
Also, am i the only one who heard ducks just before Ragnar got his idea to stop? Get it? Ducks go from water to land :D
I know you guys have a jam-packed schedule but I'm just hoping you remember to check out the new (longer) preview for Westworld Season 3 - so excited! Hopefully, it won't be the brain puzzle Season 2 was.
RIP Yidu and Quenthrith.
Ragnar is definitely losing it. Just imagine how those kids will be affected by watching their dad murder a woman and then going "nbd"...
I actually believe Ecbert when he tells Judith he loves her! I believe him that he wants to be honest with her always.
Harbard is a POS...
I am watching Vikings alongside you guys, im only a couple ahead. And in this situation im rooting for Rollo, I want the franks to win and defend themself. I dont know why, maybe because thats what I thought would happen, or because i like the characters there, i dont know. We already saw Ragnar go in there, and now he will just do it again, and kill everyone. I dont know, i want the civilized people to win.
Fun fact: the real Rollo was called Rollo the Walker because he was apparently too big for a horse to carry. That's a big dude.
They also had little horses in these times. Like big ponies by today's standards.
Real life Ragnar and Rollo where never brothers
Steven: wow this guy is good 😏😏
Nikki: no it's not
Lol
it doesnt matter what Ragnar does, I would cheer him on no matter what.
At 10:57. The Count of Orlo needed to get rid of the competition, and the competition there was Rollo. Rollo was, well, on a roll here with the French soldiers, especially. So the Count will poison the mind of the French king to get Rollo out of the way.
Team Ragnar! lol i been missing these reactions i was going to watch this on my own cos i dont think i've seen it i know you dont show all the episode. but it feels like you do so i'm watching it with you guys.
Agreed -- at this moment in time (again); ROLO is presented and has, without a doubt, no redemption arc 'big enough'. Finally watching HULU and catching up!
Two episodes x two reactions; Let's Go!
[ And Wessex and Mercia's kingdoms now form (modern-day) France; after mending with Frankia ]
Do you mean that Wessex and Mercia form modern day England?
