Grew up idolising Ronaldo with the whole family while our dad was the only supporter of Messi. We used to exchange rants and banters against each other within limits knowing how they meant to us but during the night of the final for the whole match I rooted for Mbappe and France but when it went to ET somehow i started to support the Argentinian understanding the hardwork, patience and commitment he showed cause thats why our dad supports him cause he saw himself in Messi, turning from no one to somebody. This guy truly made many of his haters turn into fans. Whether you like it or not it's a fact. Don't have all the arrogance to say he's not the greatest anymore. A true gem. Glad I witnessed him.

Im 33 years old, messi has alway been a constant in my life. I first saw him play in 2005, joan gamper vs juventus. Clearly remember thinking he was so good againts thuram, cannavaro, zambrotta, viera, etc. But when i remember the his career and moments in the 2007 days, 2011, 2014, 2018,or whatever year i remember my life as well. I remember feeling wxcited watching him play when i was 22 or 26 or 30. I thank leo for that because its more than watching his career but it brings back memories of a time that has longed passed and I cherish those memories, and leo has been a part of my life for almost 20 years.

This man is a marvel to watch. He has been there for my entire childhood, along with Ronaldo, and made this sport what it is for me.
They will never give credit, even if they watch the games and see him routinely do things Ronaldo never could. It's irrelevent to them if Mess is truly better or not , they have tied their entire identity into Ronaldo being better and hating on Messi and they will forever defend the position regardless of whether they truly believe it or not.

I'm Polish, Messi is the GOAT for me, but I was so happy Szczęsny saved the penalty vs Messi, because this pen was completely undeserved, there was no foul. It was a shame ref gave Argentina the penalty there. But eventually they were 100x better, so the win was deserved, as well as the World Cup :)

Every time I watch anything related to him I cry like a little baby. The amount of happiness this little boy from Rosario has given me, given us all is something I surely will not forget for the rest of my life. I'm from Croatia and I was a little bit sad when we lost to Argentina but my country can always win the world cup but this was last chance for Messi so I was happy he went to finals...
