- Kanye West (or Ye) is a huge anime fan and is known for his love for Akira. However, he's also a fan of other anime such as Angel's Egg and even Spirited Away. In this video, I take a deep dive, analyze and rank Kanye's favorite anime.

Mobile Suit Gundam is peak anime. I prefer it over the Akira movie, and Zeta Gundam is probably my favorite anime of all time, and I love the character and mecha animation of Char’s Counterattack. Yeah the original series has dated animation, but that is improved in the movie trilogy. I could talk about Gundam for hours, and I literally just watched the first series like only a year ago.
Honestly, even the OG anime's dated animation has a charm to it IMO. And the story of course is top-notch.
I could totally see someone putting it over Akira. It's prob the only anime on the list with influence rivaling if not exceeding that of Akira.

Great video. Out of the 7 I've only seen AOT, Akira, and uh, Bleach.
AOT is wild. It literally becomes a metaphor for the Jews- with Eren being the neurotic Israeli hellbent on executing the Sampson Option while Zeke is the self-hating Jew who understands how monstrous his people are and is willing to self-delete to heal the world.

AKIRA was my childhood, and Tetsuo was my "this is literally me fr" relatable character back in High School. Kanye may act weird, but he have undoubtedly excellent taste in quality anime.
Tetsuo is a good “literally me” character for sure. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kanye saw a bit of himself in him considering Akira’s themes
@@Druong Definitely, I can see that Kanye is a VERY "me alone against the world" kinda person, so no surprises that he would gravitate towards Tetsuo.
