And that the Irish songs, Ellis island and others didn’t really fit with the rest of the concert. loved it but knew all the songs even presented differently. I met them before white light Manchester in 2016 from a competition I won at imagine fm. We got vip seats and backstage passes with meet and greet and photos. I got to talk to Sharon and give her a card. They hold such special memories for me I hope they never stop playing 💕
@ No problem. I hadn’t heard of Ellis island until I saw them play it on Monday. From what I can find on the web the song is about the experience immigrants have which I do think is relevant in the world today. I think the songs in concert will always sound different to suit the different environment. I personally thought the songs were presented wonderfully. You’re so lucky to have won the opportunity to meet them in person. This is the first time I’ve been to see them in concert. I feel blessed to have seen them.
yes I feel very very lucky to have met my idols. I did reply earlier but it’s not here so appologies if you get it twice but Ellis island was released in 2016 and was in the white light album. (Full concert is also on yt) thousands of refuges travelled from Ireland to Ellis island in New York to be quarantined and cleared before landing in the USA 🇺🇸 there’s apparently more Irish people living in USA than there are in the whole of Ireland. The song is quite different from Mondays version. I’m sure you can get the song on here as well if you can’t find white light concert.
I was there as well, loved the revamped songs with synthesizer and the electric/accoustic guitar, my fav is Sharon so I sat right by her. Where did you fly from to se them? I’m from greater Manchester myself.. wish I’d made it to the instagram reels with ppl talking and singing to the cameras, however I sang my heart out and have a sore throat. lol. Hope you hadda blast as well. I sure hope we don’t have to wait another 10 years to see them again 🤞🏻
The seats behind the stage were closed but from stage all the way to the back there were thousands there, there was places like behind me that had chunks of empty seats but it was fuller than white light, Manchester. They also didn’t use the top set of seats all the way round above the private suites. they were amazing
