- In this video, I finally get around to installing my Uniq Performance short shifter for my 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. I can say that the quality of this short shifter is very nice. The throws are noticeably shorter and I'm a fan of the "notchiness" of the shifter. One thing I can say could be better is the shift knob provided with the kit. They didn't have to supply a shift knob, but since they did, it's an automatic plus. It's a bit hollow and feels cheaply made, but I didn't buy the shifter for the knob so I will be changing that in the future.
Other brands such as ATQ and Torque Solutions have also engineered their own short throw shifters, and Uniq Performance is a nice competitor for them! Thanks #UniqPerformance for the #shortshifter !

I just bought this same shifter. Thanks for making a video thats just simple. Everyone else bothered to disconnect the driveshaft. I figure I can pull this off now. Hopefully my brother helps me out for an hour or two lol I was thinking same
Lol, nahhh.. No need to disconnect the driveshaft if you have a good set of tools. I’ve done it twice without having to (once on my cousin’s car). Just take your time and be sure that everything’s tight and you shouldn’t have any problems

aight, what exhaust you got, mine is way too loud super drony and sounds like shit high rpm. I think its an isr catback
If I remember correctly, in this video it was J2 Headers, CNT Test Pipes, CNT Catback (Mufflers Deleted)
Nice vid, im getting into a 1st gen genesis soon and a short shifter is one of the first mods i plan on doing
Tbh, after driving with this one for a while.. I believe some others would be a better option (ATQ, Torque Solution, CoolerWorx), it’s not terrible.. But definitely not the best
I would also add a megan transmission mount to prevent damage since the oem one flex's so much

@@pj_morrison Oh awesome! Hows the reliability of the bk2 3.8? I heard the bk1 3.8 is more reliable. And somehow the bk2 2.0T became more reliable vs the bk1 2.0T ticking time bomb lol
@@MJT-DA as far as reliability.. I’ve had no problems really, but I also blew my first motor by money shifting lol. No fluke things tho, that was driver error
@@pj_morrison Oh ok I heard the G6DA motor in the new bk2 has oil starvation issues vs the G6DK which never had these issues. I wonder if any company makes a upgraded oil pump maybe?

One more question so I was driving earlier today and I hard shifted into 2nd and my shifter now is like a limp D 😂 can’t shift into any gears at all and car got stuck in 2nd cuz that was the last gear I was in before this happened I’m not sure but I believe the base of the shifter rod came off the linkage to the transmission

You know what, I can do both lol (Genesis to Terminator, and Terminator to Genesis).. I had a Genesis before the Terminator also

Edgardo Morales for the most part, I like it. Just be sure to get a weighted shift knob instead of what’s provided
Did you lift up only the front of the car or the front and back?
Is it the same thread pitch as factory?
There was no thread pitch on the factory shifter.. The shift knob from factory is pressed on and sealed. I do believe it’s the same thread pitch from a bk1 tho
@@pj_morrison oh okay cuz I have a 2013 and was wondering if it’s same thread pitch as that, I know they stopped doing threaded ones I believe in 2014
Grab a Mishimoto weight shift knob. Everything you just described to me screams this one. I have the black one she shifts like a dream. That’s one definitely considered by me.. I’m still trying to see what color scheme I wanna go with for the interior of the car, but once that’s decided I’ll make the decision
