About the fake robbery, I’m currently studying criminology and forensics in order to be a CSI (crime scene investigator) and those police officers were not doing their job correctly. If we want to lift a jacket up, we use tweezers in order not to disturb fabric. The walk through (what we do when we enter a crime scene) was barely anything in the vlog. They looked at the door but didn’t take any notes until much later. You then take photographs and sketches. You still can’t touch anything. Then you can touch things, VERY carefully with gloves, then tag it, log it and package it. If it was real, they should be fired. If they did fake it, they should have done more research Edit: I’m not sure if it’s different in America, but these are the rules in Australia
Do you also know if it’s normal to have 10 police cars show up at a scene? For a robbery with the suspect only having a knife and no one being harmed in the incident that seems a bit extensive that that amount of police officers would come and investigate.

But if it’s a robbery and nobody was home it should be about 2 to 3 cars. Like I said you’ll have a few searching the area and then you’ll have the other ones taking notes of what was stolen and the finger prints etc.

As someone who has ACTUALLY been robbed, the police officers who arrive right after busted out the fingerprint dust and checked for prints. There was not specialized finger print people that came. The officers collected all the prints. Not all police departments have the same protocols, but I find it severely hard to believe that the police would take 3 days to fingerprint.
