I graduated in 97 from Fortier, that's the era all the bands was coming with it (Fortier, Kennedy,Abramson,St Aug & etc etc etc) when Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 the schools havent been having all them kids in the band that they use to back then. We use to meet up and battle for bragging rights. (Rip Mr Eijah Beimmer) Greatest Band Teacher that I ever har
I have been watching this school for the past two years. Now I don’t agree with all the blowing before proper tech. But there is a lot of potential here, shit nobody believed in Fedex at first either tho. The arrangements are pretty solid for a high school. And tubas keep practicing with more togetherness. It’s like ten of y’all and I here two at times
I would have to disagree...those kids are from New Orleans which there is a difference as many of them were playing instruments for almost as long as they could walk... many churches are known to have full brass bands New Orleans which have kids playing instruments prior to the standard 5th grade of most music programs. Most are sophomores and juniors some have more control and sound better than many college students. YES, They could use some work on their technique and have some growing to do, but this is a high school. That's to be expected.
Never really cared if you agreed or not, and where are from and how long they been playing does not change the facts of what I said. And I will agree it’s the director’s fault. Maybe you and him are death. And I don’t know what college band you listen too but that might be close to community college. If you want greatnesses it must be done right. That felling sorry and every one is a winner Attiuted is bull shit. Just use RUclips a little more the sound You want is out there. You gotta be proud I guess

The band is great however to much “splatting” tone quality was off, they would sound so much better if they turned down a notch! I was amazed this was a high school band tho 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Listen I will volunteer my time to teach and prove to you they can sound way better. Because they have young childish leadership in this band, who is teaching the wrong playing methods all for the internet fame.
