    The most obvious is they love and compile enormous collections of music and create incredible playlists and atmospheres for different events using specialized hardware and software.

    Yesss Nina! She is such a good representation of the modern DJ, everything her and Linda mentioned is completely true. DJing can be hard! I'm currently creating a mix for my fourth gig and it takes a lot of prep to get it perfect! Don't write them off, it's the classic case of making difficult something look and sound easy

    • @sophonborrowedtime415
      @sophonborrowedtime415 5 лет назад +4

      So? You mix, as a producer we mix master, make the beat itself, sometimes make our own sounds. I think DJing is way easier than production but alot of people don't seem to praise producers as much as DJS.

      @@sophonborrowedtime415 Because DJ's genrally do what they do just to entertain (like some musicians) and they just want to have fun, nothing else.

    what our jobs are the best on the best job in the best we get paid to be a compser i see it and that's why i love my job the best part is feeling how the aura in the room change's when my set starts and seeing everyone the crowd having the time of their life and that's what i feed off the happiness

      @@darklyclad Yeah, but you can do some real music with a DJ.
      They are teenagers (or they don't know what real art is) they thing that if it tastes good it's the big thing.
      I compare that with food you can get a good hamburger and enjoy it, but (unless it is made by a professional or someone that knows what he's doing) you wouldn't call it good food.
      Or everything it's art and it depends on how it makes you feel (I don't agree with that but it's okay).

    sooooo.... u could of just prep this all before, record and just play it? I still don't understand what you are doing

    • @Raf-qz7ih
      @Raf-qz7ih 3 года назад +3

      Some DJs do that, but thats not what they should do, most DJs dont have a set playlist. Most DJs pick a song to play live. Thats why they have have headphones on during the song, they are picking a song to play next, and mixing that song in. Then they do it again, and again.
      I might have gotten some wrong, you can correct me if i did get some wrong.

    great video. But please next time get a vinyl DJ to explain some things too. All the little things that the modern CDJ's do automaticaly for you, a Vinyl DJ has to do it by hand and ear. It would be really interesting to see this side of DJing too

    back then when dance/disco music not so popular... so dj remix that pop song to more bass beat and more speed BPM to match the party hype, so the dj had a spesifik style a beat and speed, the scracth and loop itself refers to match the tempo and quantize simoustanily and it live so you no need computer

    But the real art is to do the job without the computer and things that show you the bpm as a number. Also the computer allow you to automoxing so who know that you just use effects on mixer and never perform a true mixing? And for true mixing I mean manually match the bpm and use low mid high knobs to fade into the next track... but a really true dj, is also not who use cdjs but who use the vinyls.. of course currently is now physically possible to use the vinyl due of an big amount of songs that have to be played, also because no longer one is printing their songs in a vinyl. So for this reason is allowed to use cdjs but not the pc 😁 it is a cheating tool. It’s ok you can do a very great performance but is not what a real dj do, the main art is to match the bpm and mix in to the next track, by doing some joke, trick etc to introduce the next song... the pc and all digital feature and tools are optional to make more caos and power up the dance :D infact the first thing that you said is that a dj has a pc.. but is wrong, a true dj first has a vinyl / disc player / cdj! Second the mixer, third are supply devices as the pc.. so who put the pc at first position is not a true old school dj, but is a “modern/neo dj” something that.... is like a... lamer that believe to be expert than as an hacker.. of course an lamer is good but the hacker knows the story, the secrets and the main art... so who use softwares to play song is someone that ok can do much interesting thing but are you able to sync the 2 track manually and especially in time.. I repeat, IN TIME? I don’t think so 😉 then this is the difference between an hacker and a lamer so then an virtual dj and a physical true dj... also because the most music played by a dj with pc/virtual dj and so on, are some precompiled loops that automatically sync the bpm so not a real mixing 😕 so all this comment to say that: before doing a video like this, make sure that you really know you say and be able to do what you said.. because everyone can find on internet what a dj do, and make a video to repeat the same read things... and start to touch knobs to make effects , etc and mix to other song by having all automatically synchronised and set... pff

      tbh the content in this video is weak. and although the prep is extremely important, the delivery at the nightclub is key too. being able to read the crowd and understand what they are looking for while giving them something they don't know is where the magic works.

    • @jing561
      @jing561 6 лет назад +1

      The thing about prep is when your traveling to different clubs consistently it’s your job to not only read the vibe but create it as well... djs have to adapt to their surround and mold it to how they see fit... that’s where all that prep comes from
