This…this is it. This is how I get my friends to stop making fun of me for loving my Nekros. Amazing build, and as always I love how incredibly in depth your guides are!
this build and nekros in general is really fun to play. personally, and i would recommend others to try it too, health tanking instead of shield gating makes this build a lot more comfy. it solves (up until a certain level) the need to constantly feel like you need to refresh your gate every time it breaks, and makes your time playing less stressful as a whole, and does not require primed sure footed or rolling guard thanks to shield of shadows' status immunity.* rolling guard -> health conversion brief respite -> rejuvination (rejuvination sucks on face value, however in terms of ehp/s in this build it is actually very effective) overextended -> shield of shadows psf -> power drift p. continuity -> adaptation molt augmented -> arcane blessing this comes to: 100% duration 45% efficiency 145% range 214% strength (214% is needed to max out dmg reduction for shield of shadows) in theory, you could also swap out equilibrium for 3 tau-forged violet shards giving 90% energy/health conversion (equilibrium is 110%), allowing you to slot augur reach for the missing range, coming to a respectable 175% range. on top of this i run 2 casting speed shards because nekros' casting speed is sluggish. madurai is not needed however you can utilize it for the casting speed if you decide you want to run 2 tau-forged red archon shards for +30% duration to make up for no p. continuity to spend less time recasting nourish. 25s (base) 38s (p. continuity) 32.5s (2 tau-forged reds) unairu instead if you wish to armor strip demos/acolytes since terrify doesn't work on boss units. i also prefer health tank nekros for my companion, as arcane blessing works with link health on your smeeta, and with synth fiber and link armor (i am unsure if it synergises with health conversion or not, so metal fiber of course instead if it doesn't). the biggest negative of the build in comparison to aznvasion's is of course the range drop: 145%/175%
Nekros is in such a beautiful spot with these builds and I feel like he's only going to get better and better as time goes on. With the Whispers in the Walls update, are there any suggestions and updates to this build, with things like Precision Intensify and combo Archon shards?
If you throw in Trinity Specter and an Ancient Healer Specter, the shadows should be extra safe, also more targets to be buffed by Nourish=More potential sources of radial AoE Viral procs. I would definitely abuse this and spawn an entire army of Specters along with the shadows for a "One man Army" type of fun, who needs teammates anyways :D
One kitgun elemental proc instead of two being an option is actually pretty nice, the current state of the hud made me constantly question wether i had enough stacks and if they were still present to begin with leading to me maniacally trying to refresh it asap all the time, not exactly comfortable for a warframe that appreciates longer runs
haha so much for final, De and their shield gate changes, regardless still an incredible and interesting build, setting it up even if some changes might be made for full optimization
@@MrThatguyandrew I just tested, they don't. Unless I somehow botched the test (can't see how, pretty straight-forward), the shadows don't take into account Archon Vitality's unique ability. I've yet to test it with the other archon mods (i.e. Archon Flow + shadow cold procs = chance for energy drop) but Archon Vitality definitely is a no. I think AMV KINGDOM mv was correct; it's likely that the weapons used by the shadows don't count as ability damage, but as weapon damage. Maybe if you raise a shadow that has some kind of an ability, it could do it? (i.e. Eximus units; maybe a heat Eximus could double-proc?) But that's equivalent to stacking a niche build onto a niche build, seems extremely situational and not even useful then (as it would only apply to its heat blast I'm assuming). Haven't tested that, though.

Call down sentients ->proceed to press norish ->profit. 2 is dmg buff 4 is full armor strip. slap on brief respite + augur mods + decay dragon key for good measure. (if it's not obvious sentient summons proc aoe viral too and they are super beef with the buffs.)

I am using this build but i swapped speed drift for prime sure cause i dont have it and augur reach for overextended since i dont have that either and the build feels really good without those 2 honestly, overall my fav build in the game besides my shock trooper volt build

Good to see that the old necromancer deimos arcane Nekros is alive and stronger than ever; shame that the same couldn't be said for gas surge. I have a similarish loki build idea for you which might be extremely strong and/or hilarious. Considering that lvl cap enemies have literal millions of dmg, disarmed enemies would be able to one shot one another with their high slash chance sheevs. With the armor changes, I think we can take this to the next level. The idea is to use a high range (235 or so) range loki with irradiating disarm and sibsume pillage with 200 strength to full strip enemies with two casts. At base steelpath, I presume you would want a viral rad primer( not epitaph tho cause of its cold provs). Try to keep high duration and casting speed to smooth the rotation. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to test this out beforehand( plus I don't have pillage subsumed), but this could be extremely spicy, especially in endurance.
But why not run it when you're building entirely around shadows already? You want the immunity and until the highest of levels the damage reduction helps a ton
i had a buff from the helminth that made nekros perfect: plus 200 ability duration. which made his summons last. which is what the devs need toi do. we already have to heal them why do they degrade at all? its dumb.
I think I'm gonna play this build with Arcane Energize instead of the theorem arcane. To be fair, every frame can full on abuse nourish now, but this is ridiculous. (And no, you don't get nourish viral procs from Hildryn's passive shield drain like electric elemental ward would, trust me I tried and got mad about it)
Trust me, nekros does not need arcane energize. You can run gloom on him with 45 efficiency and 100 duration, and he can still comfortably keep gloom running for hours at max drain with just equilibrium.
I know this is pretty late. But I wonder if there's any recommended primary weapon to furthur assist with the build, or simply secondary+melee is good enough?

Love the build and explanations honestly i know there buggy and kinda a pain to use but i love the mind controle and puppet frames lol nekros, nyx and revanant, there just so fun for me i just struggle to survive when using those frames, its such a shame the kitguns havent been expanded again same with zaws out of all the weapons in the game i thought those two where the most interesting since we can add gimics its heart breaking we arnt geting more parts and despite being able to make our own weapons no alt-fires realy ?..... de needs to slam there attention back onto them. I hope some day we might get a frame thats about mind controle and debuffing while being a stealth frame that would be interesting.

1. Why run both Rolling Guard and Sure Footed when Shield of Shadows covers both? You're already trying to build around Shadows entirely. 2. What's the benefit of Nourish over Roar? Isn't having a faction damage bonus superior over another damage type? I haven't been able to run high levels and I haven't subsumed Grendel yet so I can't test it. I find the Piercing Roar augment keeps enemies in place for Shadows so it can take the place of Creeping Terrify and the damage bonus is great. Enemies being weakened helps with survivability (especially with SOS). Also, just with Equilibrium and Synth Fiber I don't have an issue with energy so the energy bonus couldn't be that helpful, right?
Rolling Guard is mainly for endurance, i personally switch between the two. This is because when you get to high levels the enemys will one shot you regardless of the damage mitigation. The I frames from rolling guard means you can Sheild gate easier. The reason he dosent use roar is because the shadows do so little damage that your just buffing terrible damage. Norish compliments his kit while also allowing your shadows to do some acual damage. Hope this helped
Maybe im just overlooking something, but around 6 minutes into the video when he is talking about shield gating, It is showing his shields are at (113) I dont understand how his max shields are that low. My nekros without any mods at all has his shields at 555. Im not seeing any mods in his build that is lowering his max shield amount. I though maybe a decaying dragon key, but i dont know why that would be a good idea since it lowers your shield gate time to .33 seconds. I equiped one anyways to see if maybe that is what it was, however that only lowered my shields down to 139. So that didnt seem to be the case. Id been running catalyzing shields on my build which lowers my shields down to 111, plus i dont see that mod in his build, so im not sure what im missing. Anyone know whats going on, and dont mind to explain it to me? I would appreciate it.
This is an older patch, Dragon key used to not affect your shield gate, You are going to have to swap something out to add in catalyzing shields. I believe in a future video he suggests running energy max shards and swapping out flow.

Your build with kitgun arcanes is broken btw it doesn't retain damage boost even if I don't recast shadows, it only works if I constantly have the damage buffing area.
I have a question that I'm struggling to answer and it's: Should I put gloom on Wisp or Nekros because I want it on the warframe that benefits the most (other warframe suggestions would be nice)?
Ive seen some Gloom Hildryns running around in defense. Those fuckers had the shit up 24/7 in a HUGE radius. Didnt seem to be struggling with shield either
Hildryn and Garuda are the easiest to maintain energy with with gloom, due to them not needing to work for it. They can just give themselves energy (shields in the case of hildryn) basically whenever they feel like it
Love solo Nekros, despise shadow using Nekros in groups. Poor visibility, still many bugs related to eximus shadows and not sure if DE fixed the enemy spawn count reduction yet.
I put preparation instead of primed sure footed on it and it kinda works unless i need to move between rooms or get killed. the shadows don't follow you and you start with no energy, so dying removes the ability to restart the combo unless you have enough survivability and damage to kill enough enemies for enough energy and for a full summon. At that point i don't see the advantage of using the summons, since they are hardly better than a stationary ability with way too much energy cost, setup or payback
@@drask1988 i believe pressing 4 tps your shadows to you and heals them and 1 yellow shard with the 30% energy on spawn could work i mean it is a shadow dps build mainly
@@noahedenborg4221 yeah, I didn't manage to generate enough energy to teleport them after me. I put yellow shards with cast speed and max energy blues on, might try switching to one spawn energy.
Initiate the roll forward and IMMEDIATLY cancel it with backwards movement. I think just pressing S the instant after you pressed shift to roll is enough, not sure tho

So one question immediately comes to mind with giving heat to shadows-- does archon vitality make the shadows double stack heat procs?
I thought they counted as weapon dmg?

But what if your shadows are dead same reason why you use psf on nidus when his 3 isn't active

I though maybe a decaying dragon key, but i dont know why that would be a good idea since it lowers your shield gate time to .33 seconds. I equiped one anyways to see if maybe that is what it was, however that only lowered my shields down to 139. So that didnt seem to be the case. Id been running catalyzing shields on my build which lowers my shields down to 111, plus i dont see that mod in his build, so im not sure what im missing. Anyone know whats going on, and dont mind to explain it to me? I would appreciate it.
This is an older patch, Dragon key used to not affect your shield gate, You are going to have to swap something out to add in catalyzing shields. I believe in a future video he suggests running energy max shards and swapping out flow.
How comfortable is this build in quicker SP missions with lower spawn rates? Also how do you ramp up your energy at the start?
With equilibrium, all you need to do is cast desecrate and kill a few enemies and you will be full energy.
@@richlee6331 Yea that's fair, but I'm still concerned with lower spawn rates affecting energy economy especially if you move a lot and need to recast Shadows a ton.
@@patrikgrguric535 I mean, nekros is not for those types of missions, he's for long missions where enemies come to you and you don't need to move much, just use some other frame

Your build with kitgun arcanes is broken btw it doesn't retain damage boost even if I don't recast shadows, it only works if I constantly have the damage buffing area.

I have a question that I'm struggling to answer and it's: Should I put gloom on Wisp or Nekros because I want it on the warframe that benefits the most (other warframe suggestions would be nice)?
Ive seen some Gloom Hildryns running around in defense. Those fuckers had the shit up 24/7 in a HUGE radius. Didnt seem to be struggling with shield either

Hildryn and Garuda are the easiest to maintain energy with with gloom, due to them not needing to work for it. They can just give themselves energy (shields in the case of hildryn) basically whenever they feel like it
Protea is also a good candidate for gloom.

Not necessary tbh. Fists do enough damage and pillage (which you should have on) does more than enough armor stripping to get the job done

Love solo Nekros, despise shadow using Nekros in groups. Poor visibility, still many bugs related to eximus shadows and not sure if DE fixed the enemy spawn count reduction yet.

that build is kinda impossible to even get rolling without getting lucky with energy drops at the beginning of the level.
I put preparation instead of primed sure footed on it and it kinda works unless i need to move between rooms or get killed. the shadows don't follow you and you start with no energy, so dying removes the ability to restart the combo unless you have enough survivability and damage to kill enough enemies for enough energy and for a full summon. At that point i don't see the advantage of using the summons, since they are hardly better than a stationary ability with way too much energy cost, setup or payback
@@drask1988 i believe pressing 4 tps your shadows to you and heals them and 1 yellow shard with the 30% energy on spawn could work

@@noahedenborg4221 yeah, I didn't manage to generate enough energy to teleport them after me. I put yellow shards with cast speed and max energy blues on, might try switching to one spawn energy.

Yes anything can work on non primes normal frames aren't much of a difference as you think

How do you do the stationary roll?
Initiate the roll forward and IMMEDIATLY cancel it with backwards movement. I think just pressing S the instant after you pressed shift to roll is enough, not sure tho
