A small detail I really love is how clear and smooth the lip synch is when the characters speak, even in different languages the lips matches what the character is saying

I wouldn’t get too comfortable with this. Genshin was like that in the first couple of archon quests until they started pushing out updates every 6 weeks. I’m guessing it’s because they had all the time in the world pre-launch to record and match all the voicelines to the animation but once regular updates happen, they just add the vl’s to the pre-animated scenes that matched the original language (CN).
@@pchybnny8545 genshin's lip synch are manually adjusted, but star rail's lip synch are automated by AI, so they synchronize all the time. star rail's producer said in an interview that the purpose of the game was to hone mihoyo's AI skills. And some NPC behaviors, it was AI too

It's actually nice that the starter characters you're given with are pretty good. Right now they're really viable with the current content we have. The only thing we're left thinking is that if that would last long when we get to the point where we have everyone maxed out and if the starter characters are still good enough

You can actually just use starter characters for the most part of the game, but better to roll too for more eidolons and some double elements, so you can finish fights a tad bit easier.

Trust me you can play only with the starter and the free character on this game for very long, the starter character and the free one is quite good especially the flame MC

I think MC is going to be a pillar character designed to synergize with any world's current characters in some way. Physical MC does well when receiving buffs from the Herta Space Station support characters (receiving SPD and ATK buffs from Asta and proccing Herta's follow up attacks) while Fire MC works well with Belobog characters (Drawing aggro from enemies so Bronya and Seele can set up and dish out damage and also using Gepard's shields more efficiently with their damage reduction + covering an element that is scarce among those characters).

I love how the characters’ lines and voices were so natural that i thought i was in the game for a moment.
Hearing Mona's voice actress on Asta was such a shock. The voice acting in Genshin isn't bad by any stretch, so considering the shared voice talent, the voice director is doing a really good job.
Also, the free characters are ridiculously good. I can't see a reason why anyone wouldn't have Dan Hung on their team barring a lack of wind weakness among the mobs.
She also voices Hook which I find hard to believe so I'll have to check it tomorrow when I launch the game lol

Probably that's also why their promotion can include either one of them from time to time. Unlike Genshin, which can cause confusion since both of them exist in the story.

Yep! And for the weirdos that are going to fight who is the canon MC, I'll just say it and it's Welt. Stelle and Caelus is just there again for players to self insert and to understand this universe's corruption in the form of the Stellaron.
Honkai lore, Stelle fits as females have much higher honkai resistance then again, post Honkai (APHO), Males are catching up. Physical (Bat) MC both works. You can just imagine the FMC as a female Kaslana and the MC as Kevin's son/descendant or whatever but know for the fact that the true MC in HSR is Welt lol!

Yeah... Headcanon. If it weren't for the Cosmic Juggernaut (the train), Welt being yoinked by VA then you wouldn't get HSR and trailblaze across the universe.
March 7th will still be trapped in special ice, Dan Heng with his story with Blade, and Himeko being close to her fate which is to die/harm. With the 2/3 not joining the Astral Express, you wouldn't get the MC.
Stelle and Caelus is to give a different perspective. To make it their own. Honkai Star Rail. Welt yet again became an observer (at the moment) but he IS, should be the MC, or the adventure should be seen in his POV as his journey (now) continues after Alien Space. VA is still missing and is taking the form of Otto mind you lol!
i think bwaap was talking about the promotion, cause although yes, both are canon and it doesn’t matter, i think he’s saying he hope the promotion team doesn’t end up choosing one WAY more than the other like in genshin
ALL HonkaiVerse is AMAZING, being a honkai fan in 2023 with version Kiana and honkai star rail really is a blessing

I am so happy the dialogue is not super cringe, the story is unironically excellent. And the way they handle reference in a semi subtle way, and making it sort of make sense in the context of the dialogue. Prevents it from feeling like they are just trying to say buzzwords to act "hip" and "cool".
This game is perfect for bwaap: Great story, witty humor, smart references to literally everything, pretty good gameplay mechanics, and you can beat both the first and second chapters with the base team. Not sure about the third, I'm not there yet.
Oh, and the music's a vibe.

I love this game
The fact that you can be either a polite and good boy or a maniac who destroy surveliance drones, dumpster diving, scares the maids and does dark jokes is so good. I wish bwaap always gonna make a content about this game. Because I'm just speedrunning the game (I'm at lv 35 at the time I type this comment), so I want to watch bwaap enjoying the game.

The dialogue after shutting down the drones made me think it was a good thing so I kept doing it... ahhh, at least it was an achievement.

Welts entrance is the best for me. The protagonist goes all cool with effects everywhere and then he got bonked by a glowing stick which stops the entire thing
i like how you can actually choose to stay at the station
however, the events that would come later would not have you
(March and Dan Heng leaving without you) and they wouldn't have your help in future quests
then you get a screen that says they died and credits roll
Kinda confused with the express and herta research thing. Herta says she'll research us and find out more about the stellar while the express says we can join them and find out more about the stellaron too but wouldn't that be way more indirect and harder than just letting herta study us? And the game makes us go with he more complicated choice?
Wait that actually happens?
The game explains pretty clearly that the Stellaron inside the player influences the Fragmentum that was released during the time Kafka took the thing out of containment and shoved it into the MC. That's why the player staying on the station is nixed even if you were to decide to stick around since there's a good chance it would lead to the station being consumed entirely.
It's the game's method of having its cake (suggesting the logical answer of having your stick around and be safe instead of running around the cosmos) and eating it too (sending you on an adventure because staying around would lead to disaster). It also covers the base of why you're able to still return to the station: you can stick around for a bit and visit, but prolonged stays will agitate the Fragmentum and likely lead to stuff akin to what happened to Jarillo VI just worse since a space station tends to be smaller than a planet.
If you pick the right dialogue options Herta says it's fine if you stay then realizes the implications and shoos you away. The choice is just a formality at best. MC has no choice but to leave with the Astral Express.

Im so glad more youtubers are making more videos on honkai star rail. Its such a good game and I love it so much. The characters, story, features, and so much more! Also... the song playing for the cutscene when you first start the story.... cries in kiana
Honkai really is a nice alternative to the other Hoyo games. The gameplay is going in a whole nother direction while staying in familiar territory with setting and character and their interactions. The telltale tier choices you make is just a nice something extra.
It's probably better to use the name "Star Rail" to refer to this game. Otherwise you risk confusion with Honkai Impact 3rd.

Fun Fact : Imaginary energy is just a form of Honkai energy because Honkai star rail and Honkai impact are both on the Imaginary tree so they are parallel universes.

You can actually use starter chars only but it's way too hard without a healer at the very least. I'm using the main trio plus Natasha for main story stuff lol

The game seems to agree, it gave me Bailu and 4 Natashas (excluding the one you get from the story). I haven't used them though, because I've always felt like games (especially for turn-based) were more exciting without healing or with limited healing. Ah, maybe I should relent.

I don't know) equilibrium level, and I can get by so far with March, but aoe attacks and wombo combos are already annoying, to say the least. But hey, I can just stash up on food items. If I have half a thousand Universal Peaces in Genshin, what's to stop me from doing the same here, eh?

Level 50 with 6 other 4 stars and 2 5 stars... Yet the main cast is still my starting lineup 😂
I mean, the others are great too like Seele, Natasha, and Asta but man they're really amazing.
@@clarencealger8380 Still using MC and March. Dan Heng is taking a bit of a back seat since I like attacking weak enemies with Seele while MC is on the path of destruction, but honestly Dan Heng is better for beefy single targets since he slows them easily.
My comp is MC, Natasha, March, and Seele, with both debuff cleanse traces on Natasha and March so I literally cannot get debuffed ever
they will probably be in the second team as I got _very_ lucky with rolls, got both Selee and Bronya, and Bailu, so currently I'm just switching in Fire MC or Tingyun depending of the content xD
Unlike genshin, the cities feel alive, then interact-ably makes the game feel so much better tbh
The little things you discover just from looking around are chef's kiss, and they're funny too. Also the text messages/group chats with the characters are also chef's kiss

The battle system seems to be modeled after Shin Megami Tensei 3's (and beyond I guess, haven't played the newer ones) Press Turn system, right down to the animation & camera styles, with some modifications.
Which is a big plus in my book. Easily one of the best turn-based system to ever grace JRPGs & happy that Star Rail plays a lot like it.

The ending of Kiana's story has Canon in it, and the beginning of HSR has a Canon in it, nice little detail there

Hoyoverse did a great job at the game, in the CBT 2 I ran around investigating things because the dialogues were hilarious. Couldn’t get tired of them even after playing it a second time.

i love the humour in this gameeee i dont remember when it was but there is a part where the game literally rick rolls you and says its a quote from a famous person named "ast rickley"
Combat wise, if you want to keep it interesting and hard, yea, go for all starter. They only give you like 3 starters including, but you also gets free units too like Herta and Natasha. Both of which works decently, with Herta being really fun in simulated universe (Elysian Realm of HSR). So yea, go for all starters. It will make the experience engaging.
Himeko's weapon reminds me of a pizza cutter.

A little but pretty detail that I notice is that the lips are programmed to be synchronized with the voice language you have in the game.

I just realized If you choose the female MC it's Dan Heng you wake up to after being knocked out by Welt and if you choose male MC it's March you wake up to. Glad I choose female MC in the end she's so pretty! 😩✊

I just noticed that when you faint and wake up the person who greets you is different based on which mc you picked . If you picked female mc then dan heng greets you and for male mc march greets you

This game is actually very enjoyable, the cut scenes are beautiful and the humor is just perfect
Bwaap was pretending to not act crazy while listening to Kafka talk, but we all know he was blushing behind the screen
This type of game is supposed to be played while chilling, or maybe laying on bed/sofa. I doubt 1 hour video will be enough to cover up one full arc of main story. Because the story is actually feels like a novel. And, there will be more reading in the next chapter. (Fr tho, I've spent 14 hours non-stop on my first playthrough in a day 😂. And just like that, my holiday was gone)
And I'm just glad that in this game THE CHOICES ACTUALLY MATTER to the dialogue, including the choices of your MC (I believe the one who message us the first time when we choose female MC is Dan Heng, not March)
I really enjoy that I can grind while watching youtube videos with the autofight option!

Funnily enough, the starter charas are great.
Hi Bwaap! I don't know if you'll see this, but I've gotten pretty far using only starter/F2P (no gacha) characters - mainly MC, Dan Heng, Qingque, Natasha, Serval. (I personally benched Asta and 7th early on, and Herta later; but others find that they're still pretty good!) I'm taking my time with the game so I've only completed World 1 of Simulated Universe and Floor 4 of Forgotten Hall, but a supposedly tough boss battle (last boss of Jarilo-VI) was pretty manageable even tho I heard a lot of people were dreading it. It's a nice challenge and they're all really fun :) I look forward to seeing you try the game with just them!
