- The iPhone SE 2022 is the cheapest 5G iPhone you can buy at the moment, thanks to the depreciation rate of iPhone SEs, they provide an interesting value proposition. However, with its old design, outdated display and extremely powerful chip, the iPhone SE is a weird phone. So in this day in the life, I take the iPhone SE throughout its paces as a university student, testing out the cameras, display, performance and most importantly, the battery life, to see if the iPhone SE is worth considering in 2024!

I plan on getting this to replace my iPhone 6. This iPhone 8 design is too good and very comfortable. The A15 Bionic chip also means this phone will be quick at running apps and should also last for many years. Also Amazon are giving a great deal for this phone as being in the UK it only sells at £379 brand new.

I won one in an eBay bid, immaculate condition. Re the display I think it’s actually quite good compared to the fancy oled display on my main phone . It’s actually a very good lcd display! Camera is great if you learn to use the EV slider. I also find the phone less distracting, and tend to use it when I need it, which is quite refreshing. I’m taking a break from my big, fancy phone. I love its retro vibes and compact size too☺️
The reason I would choose the SE3 is because all other modern iPhones use OLED screens with low frequency PWM. Gives me terrible headaches and eye strain, but the SE3 is the last modern iPhone with IPS display. It sucks that Apple use such low quality Samsung OLED displays. When I refer to it being low quality, I’m not talking about the image quality, I’m talking about the technology and the health hazards associated with it. They could simply just make the PWM frequency higher, like in the Google pixel 6. Instead of this horrible 240 Hz PWM flicker Frequency which you find on all the new flagship iPhones and Samsung phones.

LOL I watched this video on iPhone SE 3rd Gen and it works really well for what I need: call/texting, light social media, and safari.
I use mine over the 15 pro max,it’s my second phone along with my one plus 12

ive also tried daily-ing the SE 2022, and it was surprisingly good. 100% battery health it lasts longer than i would ever need, and i daily a 14 pro max. gotta charge it every night unlike my daily, however when switching to it standalone for fun, it was extremely fast, loved touch ID and the home button, but no night mode was a problem for me, and the screen, as you said, sucks. But it's still a great phone. got mine for $125 with full battery health, but lots of scratches but i dont really care

Great test of a phone and clear presentation of data. I just wonder how come do you have only 1 day on a single charge. My iP SE 3 has battery health 98% and last 1,5 - 2 days on a single charge, depending on how heavily I use it ;)

A thing to note on battery life:
From the screenshot at 11:08 I take it that you have not used the phone before recording the video.
That means that for one, the battery level measurement may have not properly been calibrated yet. This means the battery indicator may not be accurate, and the phone may survive on 1% of battery for like an entire hour of usage.
Also as IOS learns your usage patters it will optimize background processes which usually increases the battery life quite noticably.
All in all though, great video! It gave me a good impression of the phone, and since I usually have a screen-on-time of < 1 hour I think it will be perfect for me.

In Indonesia, you'll only get 64 GB of internal if you grab at the $200 (around Rp 3.300.000) I think it is fine if you want to use it for your secondary phones. Really, still worth for 64 GB depends on the usage. Planned to buy this SE 3 to accompany my 3 years old Galaxy A51, soon.
