Yeh usually the press after games sound flat and they give very generic bland answers. Shauny is very charismatic when he talks, he’s even got a funny podcast on RUclips

Fact…. His career was inconsistent. Win percentage 46%. Some magic moments in his career but if you want success we need to win games, grand finals…. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t want to work hard. But if talent works hard we will be unbeatable

I thought i knew who Shaun Johnson was, ... after listening to this press conference, i clearly had only a vague clue!... in my humble opinion, he is one of the best players to have played this game, ever, and has left his indelible mark on rugby league that only an elite few can do. Listening to him speak for me, i saw a whole lot more of Shaun that i was previously unaware of, and i found him to be, articulate, thoughtful, anticipatory and, sophisticated. I suspect we will hear from Mr. Johnson on a regular basis in the years ahead.

Shaun was a better player than he realized for most of his career and his best games you can tell were the ones where he just played footy. Unfortunately he never got to string the consistent pressure games together with exception to his best career season last year. (Robbed at Dally M) He is an outstanding individual. Critiqued the most as people expected more from him as a senior. He is yet to leave his biggest impact on the game. He will be a good mentor and hopefully see him as a coach in the future. Great final send off SJ 👏

This coach looks happy in this press conference. This is suppose to be a 13 man game not a one man game. Johnson goes off injured. They win 2 out of 3 games. They needed to make the top 8. And was in a position to do so. They bring Johnson back they loose the rest except 1 game. The last one. Thought making the top 8 would`ve been more important than bringing him back and having a chance of not making the 8. Don`t get me wrong. I think he`s one of the greats. But yeah Up the Wahs 2025.
