If you are referring to where he holds down the various denim pieces, in the U.S., I have had success using a washable glue stick (the type sold for children's art projects). It is temporary and washes away when laundered. *** I have just read another comment saying this is "dry office glue". ***
You may have noticed that he uses pins for a more secure hold here when using the sewing machine.
