To me this is one of his finest works to date. Masterful in composition....the musical landscape it travels is breathtaking alone. Then the lyricism....pure psychedelic gospel. Wisdom people. Deep deep truths of life, love and death for those with the ears and hearts to hear. Bravo Trey! Truly stunning work.
I know your buddy Chris is in Heaven smiling upon you and this gift to him....and all of us. Thank you!🙏❤️🙏
I can get behind psychedelic gospel.
We dont need a guide......
It is a phish masterpiece!!B-))
Or Tab:))
It's Love. It's Love. It always was. And it is, and it always will be Love.
It is and it always will be love but he left me for an ugly bitch who doesn't even like PHISH😭
I have not been able to stop listening to this song since NYE. The reggae part is absolutely gorgeous
This is one of Trey's best compositions in the past ten years.
damn straight
"It's love, it's love, it always was
And it is and it always will be love
And it is and it was and it will be love
It is and it always will be love
It's love, it's love, it always was
And it is and it always will be love"
Sounded nice in St.Louis tonight!
So I guess that the good times turned out to be
Just a temporary reprieve from gravity
A nice trip over the falls in a barrel with me
We'll do it again when we meet on the other side
So Charon in your filthy cloak
I'll take my friend on this ferry ride
You can still have your obul
But we don't need a guide so step aside
Some of my favorite lyrics on this entire album - poignant yet defiant until the end, even as they cross the river styx...
Amazing song. LOVE
This song is freaking fantastic. 2019 essential music, and forever. Thank you Trey ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is going to be a timeless piece. ❤️
I only have time for jamming drums to tunes made with love like this phenomenal gem right here
Love you, Trey! Thanks for everything!
Love will carry us through! 💕💕💕💕
The best show of the tour. Go antipasto.
Miss you tony
Saw this song in Camden and kinda dug it. Hadn’t heard the ghosts version yet. This is tight. Love the middle part.
Beautiful
It’s not lip syncing. It’s an old Vermontonian style known as “Crimson Dego”, truly first defined by Les Claypool. That’s a fact!
Gotta love les
lord of the warbling
What is, what made you say that?
this is seriously some of treys best solo material ever which is awesome cause it came out 21 years after 1999 the invention of TAB
Well put...
The whole show is outstanding.
It always will be love
love will carry us through
Outstanding. Almost a hint of Time Turns Elastic & Petrichor.
You Smashed it Trey, Thank you!!
Come on Oct 26th.!!! Soo pumped.!
Amazing!
This is better than any phish song released since Undermined.
...Me too
Love it! Wish the full show video were available for streaming/purchase....
Ghosts of the forest > Fuego > Big Boat > and Joy.
this song reminds me of that guy that supposedly survived Niagara Falls in a barrel how cool is that accomplishment
Friend A Life Beyond the Dream And Mint get the cake for me Mint is just so WHIMSICAL It feels like i entered Shakespeare's forest of fanciful ferries and Puck's monologue at the end about a Mint Dream that had to end as all good things do
this is a close runner up though sounds like it belongs in church which is why some phans may hate it like Paul and Silas or Jesus Just Left Chicago for bluegrass and Blues and All of these Dreams sounds like an old hymn I too dont really like that one I prefer Secret Smile in that vein
This has aged very well.
It's the line drawn between us
This song was better than anything off of Big Boat (minus Petrichor). Phight me.
fish DEEP in his pocket
Drift WHile Your Sleeping - God I love that song!!!! We move through shitty Ohio weather . . .We know that our days on earth are so fucking few . . .so we dream of Jerusalem and let Jesus ' love carry me through - Its almost a gospel song with a few lyrical revisions I agree that having only 70 years in a dirt shell called a body makes every moment matter more but we still live forever with the consequence of the sin or forgiveness IN THAT 70 years so it actually makes it matter even more - just now is all there is like Richard Dawkins says makes time and life meaningless survival and futility and he for one honestly says that it is a cold world indeed but Trey is right it is a bright LIGHT NOW if you only see HOPE that God is making everything new after this world dies
Can someone explain this to me? Looks like Trey and Jon hev casted the TAB bass-player and added a new keyboardist (plus background vocals).
Did Trey feel this music wasn't possible with Phish or TAB?
Stefan Schmitz From what I read in a recent Rolling Stone interview, Trey wrote this new suite of songs as a tribute to a close friend who died of cancer last year, and wanted to record the music with Fish and Tony Markellis, who are two of the musicians he has known the longest but hadn’t really played together much. He fleshed the sound out with Ray and Jen from TAB, plus Celisse Henderson.
@@SBL-Unofficial thanks a lot, Sam
I also love to dream and sleep just ask the wife that is why i love the song sleep so much plus its rarity helps and it is in bittersweet motel which is badass - i even like my nightmares on tequila which is strange i know
Is that lipsync at 0:47 or is is just quieter because he looked down?
Quieter, clown boy.
@@michaeldriscoll5602 I'm sorry?
@OligoST good catch. There's definitely a vocal backing track playing, but Trey is SINGING along to it, not "lip synching". It's weird that they chose to play the backing track rather than just doubling Trey's voice live. I'm gonna say this was actually Trey's choice to do so, strangely enough. Shows that he's insecure about his live singing ability, probably especially with the newer material and the two other very accomplished singers behind him.
@@blakeepitts it's for the sound effect, that's all
@@blakeepitts weird that he is insecure about it, he still did a great job. He wrote the song for his own style of singing so he nailed it.
Trey is such a nice loving person to have Dove Target NOT Victoria Secret real sexy mommas coming down that Alaskan road behind him makes women and this guy love him even more !!!
Their voices are so on point hell even Treys LOL
Hey, where’s Russ Lawton?
No disrespect for this musician. Just wondering?
This is a different band. Russ wasn't involved.
“This musician” lol that’s Fishman - this isn’t TAB
Thanks for reply. Great band!
@@ry_storm he's the only person in the world who knows about TAB but not Phish.
You Chomper!
Kasvot Växt still is terrible no matter what Dead or Phish head tells me otherwise i know it is garbage
only mild exceptions are Passing Through WACTOOB SITMS and the Final Hurrah which are actually fun live and grew on me as DDHurtVLong but only musically cuz as a Christian i totally dis believe the lyrics it either never hurts cuz we live on forever in paradise or it hurts forever in unseen fire and demons in a place made just for demons So the title is a complete Darwinian lie
It is assuming we are only Body and Soul but it forgets we all made in Gods image and God is a SPIRIT and therefore so are we and all spirits are eternal beings at least after birth God goes both ways ALPHA and Omega we are just Omega Afterbirth and "Free" from the vagina we live forever it just is that way thinking it ends with death does not make it true
