One of my favorites of Damien’s.
my favorite song of all time at the moment ! a perfect song !
Agreed.
His best record to date in my humble opinion. Loved the stuff he did with Swift, God rest his soul. But I just love this album so much already, I can see it being it being something I come back to for many years. X
The quest is over, the prophecy complete. Music can die happy now.
Just finding out about Damien. Loving his work. He's just as consistent live as he is on the studio records.
I’ve been listening to this song a lot on headphones and it is really, really well done. Thank you sir.
This is his best work. With Richard Swift’s debilitating health and demons continuing, Damien was able to write a beautiful “farewell” record both to Seattle and to his best friend. Such a simple song musically, but Damien’s lyrics light up and allow the music to push the song forth!
Why is it called Allocate?
Thank you for sharing your music and performance, Damien. I'm way into your chillness, and love the folky, somewhat timeless quality of this piece. It slows the world down a little, in just the right way. Love it. Also, dug your appearance on Robyn's show, you are way sweet.
Amazing sound, great song and performance!
That's what I'm talking about Damian. No dislikes
Wow, that´s totally wonderful !!
This is the first song on his new record. I sat in the car, was really upset but then I just thought of giving his new record a try and as the music kicked in I felt so touched and healed by this song. It's so simple but it says so much. "The tears I inhaled are not good for my health", I mean.
It sounds so much like a Sade song I’d love to hear them duet .
Bloody magnificent, really quite impressive
Wunderschöner Song, danke Damien!
Great song great voice

Spotify knows that I want to hear Damien Jurado so I don't even have to do a search any more.
Just heard this on KEXP Seattle .. WOW !!!!!
He sounds great.
Dripping with the ethereal "something." It's genuine.
just great.
Bellissimo
LYRICS I arrived at two from a thought I had
Talking with Q in the back of a cab
Once we were lost and we never came back
I can only exist so long as you laugh
Don't give up on me if I ever leave town
Ain't it sad to see your life not work out?
What made you think I would live in your frown
As you're waiting around for the witches to drown?
Allocate
I suppose I could be here in the now
Still we find ourselves in the previous year
Dear Mali H. I'm fed up with myself
And the tears I inhaled to are not good for my health
Allocate
Once I was lost and I never came back
I can only exist long as you laugh
What made you think I could live in your frown
As you're waiting around for the witches to drown?
Allocate
Quelle prise de son !!
🤙
Whats this remind me off? an old folk / chillout tune... cant think, its the voice.
John Martyn?
Nick Drake...
Anyone have an idea of the chords?
Heard first on somafm.com, the Indie Pop Rocks station.
Capo 4th. Em/F#m. He's tuned to the key of D
Thanks Reece for that info, but are you really sure about the tuning? Damien has the Capo on the 6th fret. I am asking, because I tried the Open D tuning (D A D F♯ A D) and Capo on 6th fret, like Damien is using in this video. Open D tuning seems not to be the right tuning, so I switched to the Drop D variant D A D G A E. This sounds closer but also not 100% right for the BarChord he is using...
@@RobynNeundam think Reece means tuned down a whole step. So DGCFAD - I think the guitar is tuned to itself though! As I'm also having difficulty playing along.
it looks like the 6th on this recording
just great.
