The final Getsugatenshou is one of BLEACH's most iconic moments and for very good reason. In this video, I peel back the layers of this transformation to unearth the mystery that resides beneath the surface. This is the truth behind the final getsugatenshou and mugetsu. ENJOY!!

I ve noticed ichigo never loses his right sleeve, which I believe is due to it being the quincy reserves. That's why after vasto lorde Ichigo still had that sleeve.

In this form Ichigo was using still a portion of his power because his relationship to Zangetsu was better than to White. Yes, they merged but Dangai Ichigo didn't have any hollow markings. Ichigo until TYBW still didn't really accept his inner hollow

Great video. I wanted to point out that whenever we see a character “transcend” (Ichigo, Aizen, Yhwach) their hair grows to long lengths and I think there is some sort of connection through that as you stated

So there's a corresponding hollow based final getsuga tenshou as well as the perfect final getsuga tenshou somewhere out there? This implies a lot of other things like there being a regular variation of a quincified regular getsuga tenshou that ichigo just never got to use. And then there's whatever bloodline that forms from Ichigo having memories in his blood, it means that whatever descendants he has will have all his techniques embedded into them as long as they train for it. There's also an entire arsenal of quincy powers we'll just never see Ichigo use.
I don't think the bandages are a prepresentation of Yhwach, i think it's more of the protection the tough skin of the hollow has, and the markings on his arm are a representation of his blood, of the quincy side. Red eye also fit with this. But the black reiatsu, well think it's a consequence of the complete merge of his power, a consequence of Shinigami, Quincy, Hollow and Fullbring reiatsu coming all together

Ichigo on irazusando test also have black reiatsu and white reiatsu, and if you notice its the same as ichigo getsuga tenshou on his bankai isn't it? Is that coincidence??? I don't think so

The bandages covering Ichigo's mouth could be a reference to the fact that you cannot speak Juha's name (speak no evil) due to Ichibe wiping away his name from existence. Something that's also referenced back when we first met Old Man Zangetsu as well.
@@edgarmorales9950 Could also be that, i just don't think it fits the idea of what Ichigo had to do, which was to accept Zangetsu is both White and the Old Man, not understand who they are or represent, just accept them as Zangetsu. I think it fits a lot thematically, if it's the majority the Old man, with White being like a shell that tries to protect Ichigo.

The Final Getsuga Tensho allowed his Quincy powers to go through a similar transformation to Uryuu with the Sanrei Glove and Letz Stil, the last final quincy technique that Quincy's that didn't go the Wandenreich know (Pre-cursor to Volstandig). Notice the glove on Ichigo's hand. It's very similar to Uryuu Aka lose all you 'Quincy' powers to transform into a powerful form, only to be able to get it back after being struck in the heart with dense spiritual pressure after you worked and trained your body to it's limit.
I've been saying this for years. Final getsuga tensho is a quincy technique. Ichigos dad lied to hin about having used it. He lost his powers because of his wife, not the technique. Also him being aware of his son being quincy and having spent time with quincies i'm sure he was taught about it.
Notice how it was Yhwach, not Zangetsu who was sad about it?
As stated by Old man Zangetsu, now known as the "Ywach side" or quincy powers inside Ichigo, he IS NOT ZANGETSU and was just gatekeeping Ichigos true powers. But deep inside the very core of Ichigo there will always be an "old man zangetsu", meaning his quincy powers will never leave him.

5:03 "How does old man Zangetsu know the Getsuga Tenshou?" - because the Yhwach fragment kept the real Zangetsu hostage for 99% of the series, sapping his powers, abilities and capabilities like the parasite it is, while manipulating Ichigo into relying on it while despising his true sword. Meaning everything was filtered through and vetted by the fragment. Whenever Zangetsu really wanted to teach Ichigo a new technique, the Quincy stomped him down and stole his thunder.

I completely understand the narrative and thematic intentions behind that whole scene, that encounter. The problem is the Yhwach fragment outright states "I am not your shinigami powers, I am Quincy. My entire purpose here was to kill [Ichigo] if you ever became a shinigami.". While Ichigo might accept him after he'd supposedly "changed his mind", I don't read that as triumph or acceptance. I read it as Ichigo being so emotionally distraught by having his world view repeatedly shattered over the space of an hour (by the people he's supposed to trust most, no less), and in his own naivete he's clinging to the old man like a child obsessively clinging to a safety blanket - when he should've REALLY expelled him, especially when its highly probably the Yhwach fragment is the mechanism of auswählen. A decision which ultimately caused Ichigo more harm than good in the long run because Ichigo DID have his powers stolen in the end.
It’s always interesting to think about how well the Arrancar would’ve done against the Sternritter with the Quincy’s natural weakness to them. Mika Rose and them couldn’t really do anything but they were Fraccion and Harribel lost on her own but what if Starkk or Barrigan was around or even Ulquiorra. I don’t think they would’ve won but they would’ve took out a lot.
Now, what is this "mugetsu" technique we are shown? Just a combination of two or more techniques or how "Old man Zangetsu" would present it to Ichigo while still gatekeeping his true powers, meaning the original technique plus all the possible combination of reiatsu mastered at that moment.
If Zangetsu is Ichigos bloodline ability, and Yoruichis is her cat form, I wonder what is byakuyas?
Ichigo could probably do a Blut Arterie Getsuga Tensho with the small knife.
I'd like to point out something that no one realise. Old Man Zangetsu is shouldn't have consciousness. Quincy Blood has not been shown to have consciousness other than with Ichigo. They r simply letters with the sternritters. The only reason OM Zangetsu has consciousness is because he's hiding behind Soul Reaper power which have it's own "Soul". He obtained consciousness from holding on to Soul Reaper power. That explains why Old Man Zangetsu disappear after letting go of Ichigo's true power. And that is the reason why he knows Mugetsu. He's also part Soul Reaper.
Lastly, keep in mind Ichigo's Bankai do resemble OM Zangetsu a lot. Meaning he would have to be some form of Ichigo's Soul Reaperr power even if he's a Quincy.
The thing is, even the "soul" inside an shinigame is an product of the asauchi, no quincy that we know have ever meditated to show how their internal world are, masaki is the closest we see but her internal world is in thw process o hollowfication so we can use her.

@@User5hdbh The only reason we see an 'inner world' for Masaki is because two entities who weren't supposed to be there forced her consciousness into an inner world-like plane. She had no idea where she was, which means the concept of inner worlds aren't taught/don't apply to Quincy and their powers.

@@User5hdbhyes and no, every time white fight agains Ichigo we see it using what Ichigo know in new ways, like wen white use getsuga tensho whithout throwing it to make the blade cause more damage, something Ichigo used if I am not wrong one time against Ulquiorra, but Ichigo does not like the violent side of his powers, after all they are to protect not exactly to kill.

That is my fault if I was not clear. Ichigo’s Zangetsu allows him to apply both hollow and Quincy powers onto his soul reaper powers. Normal hybrids like Shinji can use hollow powers and they can use soul reaper powers but never both together. Zangetsu allows Ichigo to combine them in ways no other can

I have an problem with the "hereditary" party, I am pettry sure Isshin said it is a power that an shinigame need at least am millenia to obtain, at any moment Isshin said only them cam obtain this power nor that only their family, obvious that other persons will call the technic other name and not final getsuga
Maybe I’m misremembering but Isshin hasn’t even been alive for a millennia. So how would he know it either. I’m not too sure about that.
@@flameofrebirth101to be honesty I don't know how old Isshin is, like Zaraki is old as hell and he does not look so old, until the revel he is the one who give Unohana her scar and its happened before the first invasion no one will say Zarak have more than 1000 years. And the Shiba clan before losing their noble status know some secrets and interacted with the zero squad (we know it because of the cannon they use to go back to soulking palace)

I think it is not possible, vollstanding as we see in tybw need power direct from Yhwach to be actvated, after Yhwach take his power back they loose this ability

I said that just to establish that Yhwach’s blood is “special”. You still need to undergo the ritual where he inscribes a Schrift on your soul when you drink his blood.
