Hi Jewells those Northern Lights look amazing. Do Icelanders go for swim or dips at this time of year? My wife is fanatical about wild swimming, in fact, we have just returned from an end of year swim in water temperature 8 degrees. Wishing you and yours a happy & healthy new year. See you in your next video 🥰
Happy New Year - hope it's Prosperous, Healthy, Fulfilling and Successful. This is a great channel - I've learnt so much and been happier because I have done. Thank you so much.
Thanks Jewells! ❤ Trip #4 for me and my husband is rapidly approaching and we're so excited. Question, have you heard anything about the current situation at the Blue Lagoon regarding parking? Last we heard the parking lot was totally wiped out by the lava and people were getting shuttled in, the website didn't say anything other than follow the directions to the site so I wasn't sure if it was okay to drive there now or if we should plan to get there a bit early before our reservation to anticipate a long line for a shuttle? I have no problem making a phone call or email to them in advance to check and see if need be lmao, just scrolled past this vid and this seemed like something you might be aware of 😅 But no pressure if not, thanks so much and hope you're having a great holiday! ❤
Was just there at the end of September. They built a new road around the path of the lava… no issues getting to the blue lagoon. Got there around opening, Parking lot was pretty empty, no lines.
My pleasure and yay for trip #4!! I haven’t heard about the parking situation and if they are allowing people to drive there on their own since one of the parking lots was covered mostly in lava. Sorry that I don’t have an answer but I hope they have made it possible to drive there now. Have a wonderful time on your next trip. Happy holidays!! 🤗❤️
@AllThingsIceland No worries, thank you! Haven't been to Blue Lagoon since last September due to our last trip in the summer being through the Westfjords and Akureyri, looking forward to getting in more of the basics on this trip and we're also seeing Snæfellsnes for the first time ❤️ Can't go wrong with Iceland!
*laughs in Minnesotan 😆 I visited Iceland in August of 2022 and that was a perfect time to be there! Edit: the fermented shark was 🤢 for me but the traditional bread baked in the ground was delicious 😋
@ I stumbled onto your videos when planning my trip and yours were very helpful so thanks for your time educating all of us. I loved Iceland…seemed to be a much better quality of living than here in the US or even in my state. I always keep it in the back of my mind in case I need to get out of the US at some point lol 🤣😭
Great video, very informative thanks Jewells. My wife suffers from SAD at this time of year which is why I have never pushed exploring Iceland, even though it appeals to me, so next month our winter break will be nearer to the equator. Keep up the good videos 🥰
My wife and I, native upstate NY folks (Troy NY), visited Iceland in Jan 2023. It was GREAT FUN! Jewells, your videos were very helpful! Cheers!
I could listen to you all day. You have a gift for narration. And a beautiful presence.
Hrllo,
The ice caves looked amazing.
Thank you for sharing

This was very helpful, informative and warm. I initially delayed my trip but this may change thanks to you!
Glad it was helpful! So glad to hear that. When are you thinking of visiting?
I was there in March two years ago and even though it was cold, it wasn't that bad.
Awesome to hear that you enjoyed your time here. 😊
I'm glad to hear from you, and know about you, God bless you in advance, in Jesus Christ holy name, amen
Wonderful information. Planning a trip to iceland towards the end of spring. ❤❤❤❤

How do they celebrate Christmas for all those extra days?

Yea, we definitely don’t have temperatures like you do in Minnesota. 😂
Glad you enjoyed your visit in August. 🥳🥳 Agree about the shark and bread. 🤗
