I personally like having the Saturday brood war cast. Sunday live is awesome and its already a big chunk of time. No time left to follow that up with a cast. Having content 5 days a week is great because I can watch it on my downtime each day.

I recently just watched an Artosis cast and idc what anyone says I think Falcon Paladin is the best because he's the most entertaining.

These games were outstanding, thank you for casting them ! I have a new Zerg player to watch now. You keep mentioning that we need to move on from Jaedong, Bisu and Flash being the best ; this was Jaedong-tier muta control from Soma. Even his style was similar ; Jaedong occasionally lost from overcommitting to a strategy and not getting the momentum he hoped, but when he won with mass muta, it was doing what Soma did here - use speedlings to whittle down some of the marine count in the very early game, then manoeuver mutas deep inside the enemy base, behind turret lines and in places where marines can only trickle in.
As for what Ssak could have done in that last game, I think he needed to be more decisive with his marines. Leaving them just outside his base, near a ramp and high ground for the mutas to hide, without actively going for an attack that would relieve muta pressure from his base somewhat, backed him into a corner ; in the face of growing muta numbers and a dwindling marine force, when a bio push became unreasonable, he should have built way more turrets and tried to stabilize and protect his sufficient 2-base economy. Flash used to beat this playstyle by forcing mutas away from his base with marine pressure or outright killing the zerg with marines ; and where that couldn't work, he was not afraid to throw down 6-7 turrets per mineral line. There's a tipping point in muta pressure that can single-handedly win a game, and Terran needs to stay on the right side of that balance even if that means sacrificing resources. Ssak did not respect the muta. Of course it's easy to say when you're not in the game, both players were outstanding. This really felt like top-tier pro play from 2010.
By the way, thank you again for casting a series. This is the way I enjoy Brood War the most, it introduces more tension (please pad the end with anti-spoilers if RUclips doesn't mind !). Also it showcases different playstyles ; I love long macro games as much as anyone, but some of their flavor comes from what needs to be done to get to that point, and you only understand that by watching shorter games to see all the players have to do to survive to the late game. It really helps appreciate them more in contrast. For example, you mentioned most of the Zerg games you cast tend to be some variation of 3-hatch muta ; that's mainly because it's the playstyle most likely to lead to a relatively balanced mid- and late game. 2-hatch lurker vs. Terran - or a hydra bust vs. Protoss - might not be entirely all-ins, but they still tend to end the game immediately or leave the Zerg player in a position where they'll soon lose.
Love your casts, I've been watching for nearly a year and you're getting better and better ! (Also if you can get your hands on the replay for Jangbi vs. Zero on New Sniper Ridge in the 4th set of the '12 Tving OSL semifinals, I promise you won't be disappointed.)

I think a large reason why zerglings feel like they attack faster and ARE significantly more powerful has to do with closing distance faster, and more easily overlooked, finding surface area. A zergling might start attacking 2-3 hits later if it lacks speed if a single zergling is engaging and units are touching in a line.

Game 2 has some sound sync problems, can really notice at 25:38 when the mutas attack the marines. Second time I notice this on the channel, those this time it was less annoying.

Pausing and writing this at the beggining of the cast: I did pause and check RJB out and it seems he only does FME? Not a fan; high-level BW on "regular" maps is what I'm here for, everything else is just fillers AFAIC. Of course, I can only speak for myself, but I'm guessing there's others who are on the same page.
That said... a high-level best of seven BW cast over an hour long? Now that's a treat, I'd really love to see more of these. Thanks, Falcon.

that there felt dirty as hell, though i think it comes down to muta not being used for so long has put most terrans at ease not worrying about them at all, i mean be honest how many games have you seen mass muta ? some pop out normally yes but not as often as mass, great collection of games though
What did the Terran do wrong? I feel like he didn’t macro enough to match the mutalisk count. Also, his micro did not seem aggressive enough to ward off the mutalisks.

I'm no expert in defending against this onslaught of mutas, but I believe bunkers work better than turrets. Rather than trying to hopelessly chase down mutas with marines, put them in bunkers. Once you can set up a bunker defense, valkyries aren't far away. You also don't need the engineering bay.

I think the reason he cancelled the machine shop was because of the scv getting stuck between the barracks factory and shop that's my theory.

Not an expert, but maybe sSak could go for few bunkers on the sides of turrets defending the mineral lines. Or rushing goliaths, once the muta flock is too high for marines to handle, a few goliaths could even the odds.

It's not "3 bases versus 1" that matter in the first game. In fact we don't count zerg bases, we count their gases. Minerals don't matter at all and are very rarely saturated.
It's kind of normal for a wraith opening terran to play on 1 base. The idea is to force zerg to make hydra that are TERRIBLE vs marine medic and delay his tech enough that a later marines medic tank vessel push is unstoppable due to zerg not having defilers yet.
Ssak took a bunch of damage early and made too little impact with his early harass for it to work though.

Please stick with well-established players for most of the games you cast. It's much more entertaining and rewarding for a viewer to watch well executed game plans

I'm loving this low econ early game stuff. one shitty part though is they give up too fast. the leagues should tell the players to keep playing a little longer. the fans won't enjoy watching when everything seems dead even neck and neck and one player suddenly leaves.

Bio is biological units for Terran. Marines, Firebats, Medics. Mech is mechanical units. Tanks, vultures, goliaths.

Macro is the stuff you do to get a big economy and army. Making workers, building production facilities, expanding to new resource locations.
Ya... I've been playing brood war since it came out and never play online cause I suck. But I decided to play one about a month ago and when I said gg the other player just lol'd at me.
Yeah, Brood War ladder is a rough place.
It is what it is lol. Its funny cause despite how much i love brood war over star craft 2... Im actually better at 2. I think it's just because of how much more fast paced it is and the fact that i can see my hotkeys and i can hotkey buildings to one number.

I wonder why some zerg players always send their OL (ovelord) in the wrong direction at the start of the game instead of going directly to the enemy base. Its mathemathically impossible for the opponent to build another base there so quick so why do they do it? Are they stupid? I really think they are just stupid lol like its not mathemathically possible lol. Just dumb imo opinion
