Listened to the studio rehearsal version too ... That's equally mind blowing.. actually every version of his is a cut above all! Love you Elvis!
I saw Elvis live 2 times in 1955. Then, he was more about cutting-up and rocking and rolling on the stage for the people than trying hard to demonstrate a great voice. But, as he got older, his voice got much better with deeper resonance. He was an absolutely amazing singer and on-stage performer, NOBODY CLOSE. I do not know any performer that was liked by a broad spectrum of people as Elvis was. NOBODY.
I SAW HIS SHOW ONLY ONE TIME, 2 MONTHE BEFORE HIS DEATH....YOU COULD SEE HE WAS IN BAD SHAPE.....BUT HIS VOICE WAS AS STRONG AS EVER.....I WAS A ELVIS FAN WHEN I WAS 15 YEARS OLD AND NOW AT 82, i AM STILL AN ELVIS FAN.

I love this song. He was the greatest singer too. He was the kindest most generous man too. He was one of the finest actors ever too. He was never given the chance to do his best in the movies.
