I just bought a sewing machine. I haven’t touched one since I was 7, I used to make tiny outfits for my Barbie with the help of my mom. As an adult I’ve been wanting to get into making my own outfits to fit my style and I knew i needed supporting tools and not just a sewing machine. Thank you for telling me where to start ❤
I once worked at a mattress factory. I'm a sewer in the industrial world. I asked if anyone had a seam-ripper handy. I noticed others using scissors to open seams, which is fine, but a seam-ripper gets the job done. Anyway my supervisor looks at me and asks, 'why would you need a seam-ripper?'. I knew I was in trouble if the place I was working doesn't know what a seam-ripper is. Thank you for pointing them out. They are very handy.
Okay! You are hysterical! I laughed so hard with your flipping the thimble around. Haha. And the rest was very enjoyable to watch. You have a great sense of humor. Keep it up. An avid sewer here with many years experience. Thanks.
I bought your most recent strapless dress pattern!! Can’t wait to give it a shot!! Tips to add like a circle skirt to the bottom, like tea length mermaid vibes?
Thank you so much! I’m going to look through your videos but if you haven’t already made it, please make a video of your storage hanging wall. I love the plant there And would be an awesome way to keep my plants away from cats lol. but I just love you explanations and sometimes I just zone out from instructions. And you went straight to explaining from the beginning and are genuine. I don’t feel like I’m being sold something I’m actually learning. And I laugh here and there too lol. So really thank you and will watch more!!! ❤
That kit is adorable, so neat and cute 😍 Also I have neverr seen a pin cushion with that little thing to sharpen your pins! I don't know if it's because I'm in the UK, or just because I haven't spent enough time looking at different pin cushions haha
Hi! Do you have any video on how to hand-sew beads onto fabric? I bought like a yard of organza (lol) because I wanted to practice beading, but all the videos on youtube are super hard. I would like to get into tambour beading, but won't be purchasing those stuff for a while.
Just saying, I bought this kit, and USE IT ALOT!! Here is what I’ve hated about this kit: My sea ripper broke! The aluminum part just pops out of the plastic handle very easily, some parts of the sewing thread gets a bit fuzzy. I’ve never worked with high quality scissors, but yeah they aren’t the best. I did buy a cute button jar and collect the buttons Iget from the dollar store, craft stores and Walmart. I inherited some beautiful portable embroidery scissors, which I use ALL the time! I recommend buying an embroidery portable bag kit, because I use all the stuff mine came with a lot. I did buy some long pins with flat plastic butterflies on the head, and they are great!
Thanks this is helpful ❤ I really loved the 1st 8 days in your 30 days of sewing tips, but couldn't find past day 8? Would love a playlist of those videos please, or a link etc if possible... Thank you so much for what you share xx
You just have to start small. There are SO many great tutorials out there. If you follow those you’ll get better and better. I taught myself about 6 years ago and now I’m making dresses and costumes :)
Try hand sewing! It can be really rewarding! I like to “tack” dresses to fit better and if I gain weight, i can cut the tack out. Even just mending things is fun❤
My fave pins are these flat head flower ones from walmart (recently i think they stopped selling them 😞 ). They are thin and long are are just the best

Scissors are faster.
@@DingleBerryschnapps not really i had to use scissors last time because i lost my seam ripper and it took ages longer than using a seam ripper
My 3rd child is also named Michael Smith. Hope you are well. 😊
