I'd argue that there were a few players who could rival his skill, composure, effectiveness and just ability. Mesut özil was on an insane run of form in that time for real Madrid and then arsenal. Also I think Wesley sneijder , KAKA and even Andre arshavin were all cooking at this time. But yaya was an incredible player in his own regard. Definitely no player like him currently in the PL or since him there hasn't been one, the closest model I can think of is Ruben loftus-cheek or Kevin de bruyne

Preferences and knowledge of the game is different, so it's somewhat ridiculous for one to assume that l expect everyone's list to match. People exchange ideas and opinions.
