Tried making this cake last week and it turned out great! Fluffy too just like in the shops! I'm so amazed! Taste so cheesy and yummy! Gonna try your fruit cake next..
Works great if you pay attention to instructions. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.
Hi Ms Pang, a little advise, don't use whisk when you mixing the egg white and batter. Use spatula. Single circular motion. Do not mix right and left circular motion. It will create more bubble. Hope this will help.
I like the fact that you showed everything as well as what mistakes you might have made. Still looks like the cheese cake turned out fine. Who ever thought you could do more then cook rice in a rice cooker? AMAZING 😉

I love your recipes and appreciate the time you take to share them. How I WISH I could find eggs with those orange yolks I see used in all the Asian baking videos, short of raising my own chickens this wouldn't be possible😣 One thing I did wish to share with you, egg whites will NOT whip stiff if there is ANY yolk present period. On your almond cake video there was a considerable amount of yolk in your whites, you commented that the egg white remaining in the bowl because you didn't use a stabilizer. I wish that were true, but it isn't, I was surprised you got the whites as stiff as you had (they were dry, but not stiff) given the amount of yolk that was present in your whites. I hope you will accept this as a helpful tip ( the spirit which was intended) not as criticism, I truly enjoy your videos🤗
Thank you! I appreciate all the helpful advice I can get! And I didn't know it at that time... It is Japanese cheesecake. A lot different from traditional cheesecake though. I'm not sure about topping it with anything with juice or liquid. It may turn the cake to muss. You can refrigerate and maybe top it right before serving.

I've a basic rice cooker with a small hole provided in the lid for air to escape. Is it necessary to close this while cooking? Asking this coz your lid looks (almost) air-tight.
Hi @Hurryup Yes, you can still bake with your rice cooker. Some recipe may work better than others as yours do not close tightly. But just put a paper towel on top before closing and do not open until after the 2nd or 3rd bake cycles (about 1 hr 30 min or so). So just use a spatula and fold the whipoed egg whites into the batter gently. And do not oil your pan. It needs to stick to the pan to rise. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out 👍🏼
Thank you! Beating the egg whites with a hand whisk is another way but that will take you a long time and it will be tiring. It can be done, just tiring 😄
I have not test it with sugar substitutes so I'm not sure how it will turn out. If you want to try, be sure to use granules and not liquid or syrup. Let me know if you do try it and how it turn out
Hello Steffi. I would not recommend using regular sliced cheese in this recipe. Cream cheese and sliced cheese are completely different. I don't know what would happen if you do use sliced cheese. I have never done that before. You may end up wasting good ingredients.
If you look under Aqua faba you can see how to. Oh and yes Aquafaba is actually bean water from a mild unseasoned bean. Fluff the bean juice after adding sugar it fluffs up amazing. You tube has tons of videos on it.
Well... I have not bake every cake myself but I would say most will bake just fine. Let me know if you've try a different type of cake or bread and how it works out
I think if you only fill batter to line 3, you should be ok. Usually, any recipe with 1 1/2 cup of flour should be the maximum for your rice cooker. This Japanese cheesecake may rise a bit more so only fill to your maximum line. Or bake in two separate batch. This recipe is already at minimum amount but you can try to reduce and see how it turns out.
I have not try that so I'm not sure. But this cake is already picky on how it is bake, thus may not work with in the microwave. But if you decide to try it, please let me know how it turns out.
Thanks! I like to make things simple and easy to follow. I usually just cook for my family so I use my hand all the time. But I wash them very often while cooking or baking. When you see me handling with my hand? I just washed my hands. I'm pretty conscientious about cleanliness but yes, people should handle food cleanly.
Hi Jules. Most of recipes should work. I don't have one to test with so I can't say what adjustments might be necessary... I'm guess the baking time should be less... Please let me know if you try a recipe! 😊 And do share pictures or videos of your creations with me on my Facebook page "Rice Cooker Baking" or tag me in IG @ricecookerbaking TWITTER @ricecookerbakin

Great question! This is my first time making this but that is a concern for a few people as well. The cream cheese definitely help calm the egg tastes a bit. I'm planning on making the Japanese cake itself in the future. I'm hoping it will help to calm the egg taste even more. Stay tune!

I'm sorry to hear you unsubscribe just for that one comment. I don't think it was specifically this recipe but the Japanese sponge cake in general. Due to the amount of eggs it does taste different. Wow, never seen yolks that orange-red 😍
It's from my own hens 🐔and they are fresh everyday! 🥚 Love it!
@@ricecookerbaking That's wonderful!! 👏😊
LOVE IT!
Thank you for watching
Hahaha.. Your video is so funny! Will try this at home during this MCO
Hi Louisa! Thanks for watching! Yes, do try it. That was my very first attempt at this cake and I made a few mistakes but it still turn out good. I over mixed in that one. So just use a spatula and fold the whipoed egg whites into the batter gently. And do not oil your pan. It needs to stick to the pan to rise. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out 👍🏼
@@ricecookerbaking hiii.. Thanks for the reply!!! Def will tell you the result. 🤣
美味しいそう。
ありがとうございました。とても良いです。
Hi, this video is amazing! Anyways, can I ask if their are some other ways I can make batter without using electric mixer? Thank you🙂
Thank you! Beating the egg whites with a hand whisk is another way but that will take you a long time and it will be tiring. It can be done, just tiring 😄
@@ricecookerbaking ahmm, okay thank you..🙂👍
You can use a mixer jar to beat egg
I will try this recipe, can I use sugar substitute instead of sugar I am a diabetic?
I have not test it with sugar substitutes so I'm not sure how it will turn out. If you want to try, be sure to use granules and not liquid or syrup. Let me know if you do try it and how it turn out
Can I use normal sliced cheese for this? If I do, what will happen?
Hello Steffi. I would not recommend using regular sliced cheese in this recipe. Cream cheese and sliced cheese are completely different. I don't know what would happen if you do use sliced cheese. I have never done that before. You may end up wasting good ingredients.
@@ricecookerbaking thanks for replying!
Hmmmm, wondering how to veganize this recipe.....
If you look under Aqua faba you can see how to. Oh and yes Aquafaba is actually bean water from a mild unseasoned bean. Fluff the bean juice after adding sugar it fluffs up amazing. You tube has tons of videos on it.
I was thinking exactly the same thing!
😋
Yes, it is yummy! 😋
Can I bake any cake recipes in a rice cooker ?
Well... I have not bake every cake myself but I would say most will bake just fine. Let me know if you've try a different type of cake or bread and how it works out
What I do to avoid bubbles is 'fold, fold, cut'..and so on..using spatula💜
Thank you.
I think we need to strain it when theres too many bubbles
Now that I know what I did wrong? I think I won't make the mistake again. I over mixed this one 😐. Oh well. It's only cake. It was still good 😋
Yes its ok.. We all make mistakes.. It still looks yummy!😊

@@ricecookerbaking thank u too for sharing this in youtube...i can get some idea ...Godbless
I am alone, so I only have a 3 cup cooker. Can I still make a cake in this same cooker? should I reduce the recipe?
I think if you only fill batter to line 3, you should be ok. Usually, any recipe with 1 1/2 cup of flour should be the maximum for your rice cooker. This Japanese cheesecake may rise a bit more so only fill to your maximum line. Or bake in two separate batch. This recipe is already at minimum amount but you can try to reduce and see how it turns out.
can we bake this in the microwave ? plz answer
I have not try that so I'm not sure. But this cake is already picky on how it is bake, thus may not work with in the microwave. But if you decide to try it, please let me know how it turns out.
aaahh..the music is aahh .. ugly..but i like yr vd..its ok..i tolerated.
tq already giving me mood to go to kitchen
😄😂🤣 Yeah. We all have different music taste 🎶🎵 But I hope you will try the recipes and LOVE them 😁
there's no need baking soda or yeast for that cheesecake??
Nope. Just the eggs and whipped eggs whites is enough.
I liked how you explained it, even kids can do it but please avoid using your bare hands. thanks.
Thanks! I like to make things simple and easy to follow. I usually just cook for my family so I use my hand all the time. But I wash them very often while cooking or baking. When you see me handling with my hand? I just washed my hands. I'm pretty conscientious about cleanliness but yes, people should handle food cleanly.
Is there any reason your recipes won't work in Japanese rice cooker with a cake setting?
Hi Jules. Most of recipes should work. I don't have one to test with so I can't say what adjustments might be necessary... I'm guess the baking time should be less... Please let me know if you try a recipe! 😊 And do share pictures or videos of your creations with me on my Facebook page "Rice Cooker Baking" or tag me in IG @ricecookerbaking TWITTER @ricecookerbakin
hello its me obq batch #2
Hello obq batch #2 👋 Thanks for watching!
well you did beat the egg whites, so of course there's going to be bubbles...
Lol. Thanks pika chu 😆 💖

Just subscribed. Are u a filipina??
Thank you for subscribing. No, I'm not Filipina. But every country I go to in Asia, they automatically speak the local language to me 😅
wife asks: your link on Amazon for rice cooker goes to Tiger rice cooker (yours is Sharp rice cooker) -- what happened?
Unfortunately, Amazon USA does not have my exact Sharp brand. The link is to the Tiger brand that is similar to my Sharp one, if you wanted a similar rice cooker. But there are so many out there...it's confusing 🤪 to me 😂 I like simplicity for now.
I believe Tiger and Zojirushi still the best rice cooker brand. I have both and they're still working after decades of usage.

This cake was very rich and creamy 🤤😋 Oh yeah. Just do it! Make it!
Spongecake or Sponge ng Plato??
😆😅😂💗😋
Tried it didn't work t
I'm sorry it didn't work for you. These sponge cakes are finicky. This was my first attempt too. But I got better. Do check out my other sponge cakes in this playlist. The more you try the better it'll get.

Thank you!
Why is it called a Japanese cheesecake?
Hmmmm... looks like my original response was deleted by YT botz! I hope you saw it. Japanese makes light airy fluffy cakes and this is one with cream cheese. That's all
Over mixed na..
😔
I know... 😞 it was my first time.. oh well. Still good eating 😁
Sorry but every time I try it, taste too much like eggs in it and I really don’t like eggs that much, what can use to make it taste less like eggs
Great question! This is my first time making this but that is a concern for a few people as well. The cream cheese definitely help calm the egg tastes a bit. I'm planning on making the Japanese cake itself in the future. I'm hoping it will help to calm the egg taste even more. Stay tune!
Hi June. Check out my new video, Chocolate Japanese Sponge Cake! I think you'll find this version less eggy taste. ruclips.net/video/l8iPI4HyWYM/видео.html
Thanks for your comment you save me for wasting ingredients.
Jap cake have many eggs. I no like. All taste like egg
Kinamay,?
Hi Josephine. I'm sorry but I can't translate that? If possible or important, please write in English or in your native script. Thank you for watching.

Thank you
U shld used strainer with bubbles looks like sponge cake, that’s not a japanese cheese cake not at all lol...sorry just sayin
It was my very first time ever trying to make this cake so it was a learning process. But the cake was still really good 😋
You know whats wrong why u used the wire whisk for mixing them together use the mariss instead yeah u did a lot wrong
Yes. It was my first try. I made quite a few mistakes but that is how I learn 😊

I unsubscribed after reading the comment TASTE LIKE EGG after he made this recipe.
I'm sorry to hear you unsubscribe just for that one comment. I don't think it was specifically this recipe but the Japanese sponge cake in general. Due to the amount of eggs it does taste different. Some don't like it but most do. I hope you will reconsider subscribing because I have many other recipes. Especially a new one that makes the Japanese sponge cake tastes less eggy. You should try the recipe for yourself because everyone has different tastes.

I made the banana cake but hardly taste the egg and even put 3 eggs instead of 2 in the recipe.. if u dont want egg then dont put egg..
