    I am a driving instructor here in Chicago and I always tell my students to stop when the flashing red lights and stop arm extend. While teaching, cars would aggresively Honk at us and I would point at the bus sticking their stop arm out and they would literally pass on the left and go around to pass by student and curse at us. I cant believe people do not take this seriously.

    Bus cameras need to be mandatory nationwide to get these violators tickets in the mail with enough points to suspend their licenses! And if that's not enough, community service and jailtime should be implemented to repeat offenders! And if that doesn't help, revoke licenses! After that, idk what will besides taking the car and crushing it after impounded!

      ericerock1000 you can't get points on your drivers license for a traffic ticket you get in the mail the police and the school district has to prove who was behind the wheel of that vehicle but I agree that cameras should be nation wide thing.

      Here in Ontario Canada they won’t install Cameras in buses to capture people running our stop signs and lights. They say it is a Privacy issue..?? WTF. But they have Red light Cameras at intersections.. no worries about privacy there. Even with loosing points off your license and a MAXIMUM fine of $2000 people still run our lights. So we switched the inside (Warning) flashing lights from Red to Yellow.. Guess what that did.. people sure don’t slow down.. just like at a traffic light when it goes Yellow, people speed up to get past us!

I was going the opposite way, I saw the school bus turn on its red lights, I was going the opposite way and was the first opposing vehicle. Not only did I stop, I turned my four-ways on while I was stopped until the bus’s red lights went off. I’ve known that you have to stop for red school bus lights since I was in grade school.

    • @Superman37891
      @Superman37891 Год назад

      I agree. Maybe they don’t do it because if a vehicle has to pass a school bus for a legitimate reason (medical emergency, running from potential criminals, etc.), the bus company / driver will end up being liable for damages or potentially some kind of obstruction of emergency operation

    • @NScaleRailroad

    They should have a school bus camera. Whenever, you run a stop sign on a school bus, they mail you a picture of the car you were driving and the fine you have to pay.

    I drive a School Bus in Ontario, Canada. We have the same problem here with too many people not Stopping for our Lights, Stop sign and Crossing arm. They thought the solution was to Change the inside Warning lights from Red to Amber (Yellow) to warn drivers we were about to stop. Then the Red Outside lights flash when we are at a Full stop. People treat those lights just like a Yellow Traffic light & Speed up to get past the Bus before it stops. People just don’t care. Like the driver in this video said.. We aren’t trying to make you late, we aren’t trying to mess up your day.. All we are doing is trying to Safely get Children to and from School Safely! We do Not get paid a lot of money to do this job… we have to have a Commercial driver’s license.. We get trained and continue to train to do this job Safely. Drivers need to pay attention, put their phones down and Realize that if or When they hit and Injure Someone else’s Child… or heaven forbid Kill that Child you have to live with that the rest of your life! These Children are the future of our World. Some of them will be our future World Leaders, Our Favourite Actor or Athletes… These Children are the Future of Our World.. one of them may completely find a Cure for Cancer, Heart disease.. who knows. Maybe one day they will save you or your loved ones life.. but if you hit and kill one of then while they are getting off a School Bus…think of what you have taken from the World never mind what you have done to the Families including all those other kids that are still in the bus and witnessed it! Don’t be responsible for that! Pay attention and Stop!! I wish we could write drivers tickets like you can.. we have to report it to our local Police department and never know if it goes any further. Fines here can be as high as $2000 and also take 3 points from your license! But people still don’t care! More people need to get fined the Maximum

    Easy have camera on the bus that automatically uploads the plate number in the system. After 4 500$ tickets in a week theyll learn 🤷🏿‍♂️

    Sadly getting a license plate number is really not good enough, as police need proof of who was driving the vehicle in order to suspend licenses or give points. Otherwise, all they can do is fine the car owner.

    this should be one of, if not the most harsh ticket you can get. Running a school bus stop light to just save a few seconds is the most selfish thing you can do.

    High resolution digital video cameras! Get tag # & photo of driver. Make fine insanely expensive plus points! This is every bit as vital (& criminal) as a DWI!

    Whatever happen to bus driver assistance? Once the bus stop pull it's stop sign then the assistance go out and block the traffic with his or her stop sign making it alot safer for the kids who do cross the other side of the road.

      The bus driver's job is to drive the bus and is likely the only adult on board. They shouldn't be abandoning their duties (and leaving unattended children) just because there are some drivers who will blow through the sign.
      And if someone blows through the RED sign with FLASHING LIGHTS, they aren't going to stop for a person either.

    Need registration readers like police a ticket automatically comes in their mail. And have retractable stop strips like police use. Flat tires might wake them up retract stop strip and bus drivers away.
