@ 3:50 I did this without removing the frame. You can grind off the pin and replace the track guide while in place. Prop the glass up with a piece of wood. Connect the switch and move the lift arm to an accessible height. Back the lift arm with a piece of wood when grinding and tapping out the pin. Also, a couple of the bolts have some serious loctite holding them in. If you do remove the frame, heat the bolts that won/t break loose to soften the loctite.
Thanks! Extremely helpful! I don't normally make comments on these sites, but this video was so informative, with all the links etc. I couldn't resist. Although this repair takes a bit of labor, a work bench, tools and time, this method of repair is far superior to paying a repair shop $300-400 to replace the entire window regulator because one plastic clip broke, which is what I ended up doing 3 years ago. Six months ago I found myself in the same predicament but this time on the passenger side. I thought I would have to eventually replace this regulator too, so I've been driving around with the window taped shut, that is, until I found this video. Fifty bucks is a heck of a lot better than paying $400 for a repair I can do myself. I purchased two so that I can just go ahead and repair the drivers side too and never worry about it breaking again.
We’re really glad you found the video helpful! We never had a problem with the windows after we installed the metal pieces so they definitely work well!
Glad the video was helpful! We actually painted it ourselves. We spent roughly $1000 in paint and materials so I could see a shop charging 5k-10k to do a complete paint job on it. There’s a lot of surface area on these vans which means a lot of time when it comes to bodywork and paint. If you want to see what it takes to do it yourself we’ve got a whole series on our paint process.
@@goldenadvantures2573 Did it really cost $50? That seems ridiculously high for what it is. Did brass start costing as much as gold and I didn't notice?
Yeah it’s a low volume cast part so you end up paying for the low volume. If they were selling millions of them I bet it would be a $10 part. My windows work great and I don’t have to worry about it anymore so I’d say it’s worth it.
It's titled as a Dodge van but has Freightliner badging headlights and grill. Other than that all the parts are Mercedes so they're really all the same anyways.

That sounds like a pretty good trick to save a few steps! Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you so much for this video - so thorough! I just replaced mine yesterday and your video made it so easy.
We’re glad it helped you out!

Where did you get brass replacement peice
We ordered it off of eBay. I don’t know that the link is still good. I hope this helps!
Did you get your van painted? I have the exact same model and am wondering how much a basic paint job would cost. And thanks for the video!

Where did you get the brass piece?
I ordered it from eBay. The link on the video description should take you right to it! Let me know if you can't find it and I'll see what I can do.

It's a Freightliner, not a Dodge.
