Now that a little more time has passed, do you have a better idea of how much your electric water heater actually draws each day? This is the most expensive piece of electrical equipment in your system that can be replaced with other means. (such as a water tank connected to the engine's coolant system). So i am wondering. Does your water heater indeed only run for a half hour per day, which appears to be all you used in your spread sheet for power consumption.
Also, do you think its wise to just go ahead and chain 2 of these tesla batteries together to go from 500aH to 1000 aH to be able to run AC for longer periods?

We actually sold the van a few months ago. While we used it we really only ran the water heater maybe 20 minutes per day. The water heater was only $159 so it was on the cheaper side when it comes to electrical components. When we do another van I plan on running two Tesla modules. I hope this was helpful!

@@goldenadvantures2573 Of course its helpful! In fact, your series is the only reason I feel I will be able to build my van with confidence. Thanks so much for all the effort and sharing. I think I will try starting with one Tesla battery. Off the top of your head, does adding the second battery in parallel change anything to other parts of your designed system? Can all wire sizes stay the same, and another battery be added later on relatively easily if its kept accessible and space is reserved?

We’re really glad our content is helpful! We designed ours with the intent of adding another battery later. All the wire sizes can stay the same because the load on the batteries determines the gauge wire needed not the amount of storage within the batteries. The only component you’ll have to add is another cell balancer. If you need any help along the way feel free to reach out through our website or social media!
