Greninj card is great... probably high due to nostalgia. Just like most Charizard cards.
But at least Shrouded Fable has a promo Greninja too.

Man, I was sleeping on this set before it released. I was just thinking that the Ursaluna cards and Perrin would be the only cards I'd want, but then the set came out and I looked at the set list. Carmine, Greninja, Pinsir, Infernape, Froslass, Cramorant, Heliolisk AND Tatsugiri all caught my eye, and I got the Chimecho and Hisuian Growlithe I absolutely would have wanted too. Amazing set.
I think this set art wise is some of the best in years
It’s definitely one of my top 3 SV sets, but the pull rate is so low

The truth is what's valuable in the Japanese and English markets are completely different. Female trainer SIR's are way more expensive in Japanese and are usually the biggest chase cards in sets, which rarely ever happens in English since pokemon seem to be more valuable, especially if it's a popular pokemon like zard or greninja. I don't think because greninja isn't the most expensive in Japanese it shouldn't be the biggest chase card in English, it's just different markets neither is correct tbh
Picked up the ETB for 36 dollars, managed to pull the Ursaluna! It is such a freaking cool card, so happy
The greninja is the coolest Pokemon SIR, it's a popular pokemon, and English puts a higher value on that than waifus. Japan craze has pushed the waifus up, but not enough to dethrone popular pokemon.

And if the human character isn't from the first couple gens I DEFINITELY dgaf about em.
Carmine and Greninja have gone completely off the rails. The cheapest listing of Carmine on TCGplayer is currently sitting at $135 and the cheapest Greninja is sitting at $150. Absolutely absurd
I went to target a bought a 3 pack set just out of nostalgia and pulled the greninja ex and was baffled how much it is, it’s now up to $150-160 rn absolutely crazy

Oh god here we go with your IR takes. Dude, it isnt a "random" card that we just make expensive. Raichu, Magikarp, Groudon, Ghastly, Eevee. ALL EARLY GEN POKEMON. How havent you caught on to that yet? Its like saying "Idk why the Charizard SIR is the most expensive card in PF" Its gen 1, its charizard, nostalgia lol. Its always early Gen pokemon.
Wellspring cornerstone and heartflame seem to all be about the same price, so you could say they are all top 10
Not the Greninja now pushing 200…thanks to the terrible pull rates you can expect all these pulls to keep climbing…
I love playing the quad Teal Mask Ogerpon, it'll get some quick wins if your opponent isn't prepared and I've noticed that playing on ptcgl I haven't needed to take more than 4 mulligans when playing it
The eevee is so cute it's more playable than some of ones we have seen recently but it's no energy evolution
These prices seem to match Japanese card prices. In EU some of these are currently half of what it says here, granted mostly cheaper ones are in German or some other non-English language. Also, in Japan they value waifu cards much more, while art rares tend to end up cheaper after a while, so if you looking to get some of these (like Eevee or Tasugiri) I'd suggest waiting a bit and buy non-Japanese waifu cards and Japanese/Korean art rares. Regular art rares are guaranteed in Japanese and Korean boxes so they will end up considerably cheaper after few weeks. Alternate secret art rares of pokemons (Greninja, Ursaluna...) will likely end up about same in Japanese and English.

The Greninja is awesome. Waigu cards are usually less popular than Pokemon in the west
So what should the top card be ? If greninja is na and the 2 trainers are overpriced ? The ursaluna or ogerpon ?

That greninja is now over 200, and the eevee has jumped significantly; it's now listed at $45 for a DAMAGED card by tcgplayer. Lightly played and near mints are even higher.
Hit rates went lower in Twilight again, Temporal forces and Twilight will be the bigger money sets in the future, being that the base set and the few sets after were way higher hit rates and then these last 2 dropped drastically.
Greninja makes sense when you realize it is one of the most popular pokemon with stunning art work.

if a english booster box has the same Illustration rare rate as a JP box something is wrong and that's why Eevee, Groudon, Magikarp and the 151 ones have those crazy prices
Idk why he doesn't take into account that its harder to get specific IRs in the US than in Japan.
Japan illustrations are way easier to pull per $

Supply has nothing to do with price. It never has and it never will.
I mean it certainly can have an impact, look at crown zenith.. and how undervalued basically all the big hits from that set are. With population overload being the only reason why.
@@yepdontcarebud Desired cards will always go up just like the singles in crown zenith are doing now. The supply only slows the price down for so long.
