    These people were taking any negative talk about Caitlin as hating, even though all anyone was saying was the obvious thing that has been the case for 99% of rookies. So, until the next game, we deserve to gloat because yall were so obnoxious, we get to rub this one in your face.

      Same way you took ALL criticism of Deion and Colorado as hate--and racism. So there's that. Like her or not, if not for Caitlin, this league would be as irrelevant today as it has been for 28 years.

      @@petep5207 This a very outdated comment. The WNBA was on the rise before Clark showed up. Their revenue last year was twice as much as it was 5 years ago. They were a league that was losing money for a long time, but have been trending in a positive direction for a while now.

    • @Clouden3
      @Clouden3 16 дней назад +2

      @petep5207 I was not among those people, but that is a fair criticism. What is not fair is what you said afterwards. The league has been growing substantially since the 2020 season. When all sports were shut down, the WNBA was among the few leagues that was still being shown. With no where else to go, people started tuning in and discovered how good the league was. Fans stuck around in 2021, that interest spread to the college game by 2022, and both leagues have seen considerable growth since then. You can attribute some of it to Clark for sure, but not all of it.

    You really think that Caitlin had nothing to do with loss? Take a look at her stats and it may help to understand how she contributed to the loss. Don’t label her as ‘mamba’ because Kobe could create his own shot. At this level, the players are 100% better than college players. Iowa spoiled her by having every member on the team throw up screens for her all throughout the game, she needs to learn how to create space for herself.
    Also, she better hurry and cash that NIKE check QUICK. 🤣🤣🤣

    Let’s remember Michael Jordan’s rookie season…Recall the Chicago Bulls didn’t take off until they replaced Coach Doug Collin’s with Phil Jackson; and most importantly, drafting Horace Grant and Scotty Pippen. Therefore-in my humble opinion-Coach Sides won’t or shouldn’t last past the Olympics break! The WNBA can’t afford for Caitlin Clark not to have her Stephen Curry moments of shooting about 25 to 30 shots a game-and yes I’m talking about launching 3$-which is her money shot and what the fans wants to see out of Caitlin Clark this year! Nobody cares if the Fever has a winning record in Caitlin Clark’s rookie season. Anybody that has coached or played basketball on any meaningful level knows it take more than three practices for a team to learn each others strengths and weaknesses and where they like to receive the ball at or the floor. If I were the coach of the Indianapolis Fever I would run the Paul Westphal offense (just run and gun and try to out score the your-the Fever’s-opponents!) Then during the offseason the Fever can work on their defense- and offensive sets…But, for this year… can we please turn Caitlin Clark loose and let her run the same offense she ran at Iowa-that worked… Iowa made it to back-to-back NCAAW Championship games! Therefore, the style of basketball Caitlin Clark needs to play has been time tested and proven. And I know her teammates won’t have a problem playing the Paul Westphal style of offense because of Caitlin Clark’s passing ability they would be getting a lot of layups and wide open spot-up jump shots and 3$! Enough said…Call Coach Bluder so that she can show the WNBA fans what CC can do in Paul Westphal’s Run and Gun offense! The WNBA can’t afford to mess this up because as Eminem said-in “Lose Yourself…Look (WNBA you [have] one shot or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, Would you capture it or just let it slip? Yo” (credit for the Eminem reference goes to KC of “Behind the Line” podcaster.
    These need to take Caitlin Clark off the ball run multiple picks to free her up like the Pacers with Reggie Miller and the present day Golden State Warriors with Stephen Curry! This is a no brainer…run picks and screens along with the Paul Westphal offense is the only way to go!
    So come on WNBA owners of the Indiana Fever, get Caitlin Clark and the rest of your Indiana Fever the coach they need or else you will [lose your fan base and that of the WNBA’$] or to quote Eminem - “Lose Yourself!”

    If I wanted to set someone up to fail, I would make sure they play the two best defensive teams in the league for their first four games. Of course there was going to be a transition for Kaitlyn Clark. She is not physically dominant like some of those other players, her game is mental and skill. It’s gonna take her time with yelling with the new teammates and knowing where to be on the court and all those things and it would’ve helped if they started them off with a little easier competition, not two of the three best teams in the league for their first four games. I don’t know what anyone was expecting when they saw that. Most rookies are not having the other team devised the game plan specifically to stop them.
    I just can’t believe I haven’t heard more of these factors in the discussion from experts. There’s nothing wrong with calling out her struggles. Obviously there is going to be a transition for her to the pro level. I watch the WNBA before this year and I know how good the league is. I have never seen a rookie, constant double teams and basically picked up court. It’s like the players are going out of their way to make sure the league does not grow. Nothing wrong with challenging Kaitlyn Clark, but I’ve never seen a rookie come in and have two best defensive teams in the league guarding them like it’s the finals in their first two games. They are defending her the way Denver was defending Jamal Murray in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs in her first and second professional games. Who is going to succeed that way? So it’s going to take her time. There are some forces in the league that seem like they want her to succeed and others that seem like they would rather cut off their nose to spite their face out of jealousy. Nothing wrong with going out and competing against her. I just don’t see them picking up other players full courtin these games besides her. I don’t see constant teams for other veteran players who are better than her. So let’s just be honest when we talk about what’s actually happening out there.

In another game, in contrast, the apposition gave Turasi a lot of space to maneuver, for example, which indicates the vindictiveness and pettiness toward Clark. Sides and the refs were OK with it.
