No harm is intended to these animals all sports have there danger's if there was any intention of harming animals that would be a different story,
If horse racing didn't exist neither would these animals....accidents happen in life...animal or human...

@@colinveitch1203 I'm a supporter of horse racing, I go racing a couple of times every year, I'm going to the epsom derby in June all sports have some risk

Horse was fine and rolled into ditch. Was back up and walking fine.
We know, we were there.
The point is 58 horses were exploited for racing at that course alone yesterday, 3 fell yesterday and perhaps especially in El Rojo Grande’s case, extremely fortunate not to have died for a needless race.
And before anyone says “without racing they wouldn’t have been born”, creating life to exploit it isn’t a defence, there is no need for horse racing, never has been and never will be.

Saw this in Betfair in Ludlow. Lifetime racing supporter but so sickened I walked out. But as others say, rscing beung banned wd be more harmful. Its a sad price to pay but racing shd go on.

Horse racing is a fantastic sport (albeit it has some risks involved as all sports do) Horses are bred to run and love to run and jump. Ever seen horses in fields, what do they do, they run and jump for fun.

Incredibly naive statement about no need for racing. The horse has had a working relationship with man for centuries but now that they are no longer needed for transport this incredible bond continues through professional equine sport including racing. Thousands would be denied a lifetime of working with the animals they love i.e. the horse if you got your way and millions of related jobs would be lost too.
