I've got this same guitar and I don't think I could enjoy playing it any more. I've had the guitar for maybe a couple of months now and I so love it. For the price in the US it's like $250 bucks. You can't beat that. I have much more expensive guitars but this one is special. Great video!!!
How do I get that heavy sound coming from it? I just got it and I have an amp but it does not sound the way other guitarists make it sound. To me it just sounds like any other guitar... How do I fix this? I want that heavy metal sound.
Hi Amber, what kind of amp do you have? It might be that your overdrive/ distortion channel isn’t heavy enough. Or it might be a technique thing. Best, Remy
Good video ! I am looking for my first electric guitar and i want to play rock but also indie, blues and pop, do you think this guitar is quite versatile for play that ?
Hi there! It’s a great versatile guitar for sure! But the looks might be a bit too much for Indie etc. But playing wise , sound wise and quality wise you can’t go wrong! There’s also a newer model that came out this year with a double locking tremelo. That might be a bit much on your first electric guitar , but I thought I’d let you know anyway! Good luck! Best, Remy
How bad is it that there's no tremolo arm on this otherwise very capable metal guitar? I'm a beginner player, but I feel like every songs I listen to use tremolos
Well…. Good question! My personal opinion would be to go for a guitar with less “ fuzz” on it… like a Tremolo, multiple pickup switches/ knobs etc. Just to keep the focus on your playing and technical developments on the guitar. And another point would be that on most “ budget “ guitars the tremolo systems mostly stay in stay very poorly… I hope this answer helps you make a good choice! All the best, Remy
Any beginners here ......Please don't buy guitar with Tremolo or Floating bridges... i have experienced it buying my first guitar with an Ibanez edge Floating Floyd rose .. thought it was cool just cause the pros use it.....i swear, just get a fixed/hard tailed bridge like this guitar or else you'll just waste your time tuning the guitar with trems instead of practicing and Bdw you can get similar tremolo divebombs on fixed bridges too if you practice there are many techniques to do it...again don't buy Spring bridge guitars my fellow beginners 😂
I love how this guitar looks, and I’m looking to get into playing metal as a hobby. Is this guitar good for beginners? I haven’t touched a guitar before but I’m planning on buying this one
Hi there! Most definitely yes! It has all the features, the playability and for your goal : Playing Metal and hardrock The Right looks! You can’t go wrong with this one being a “ first guitar” ! Good luck and let me know what you bought! Best, Remy
If you haven't got one already go get one, I'm an experienced player and this is my fourth Ibanez guitar that I have recently bought, I can't say more about it than it's a fantastic instrument, you can get one for around £200 pounds, or 230 dollars, they are value for money, you get a lot of guitar for your hard earned, if you are a new player my advice to you is use lighter gauge strings and maybe tune down a full step, you can make all those grim metal sounds and maybe save your fingers a little, just have fun, good luck and happy playing, welcome to the guitar playing world.
In terms of sound quality and ergonomics they're the same, but it's clear that the quality of construction and materials will be a bit better in the RG421 costing 100€ more. Actually, if you put some EMG pickups and some good tuners in the RG421 you have a monster of a guitar. That said, the GR131EX is by far the best Gio out there, and there's nothing better at sub-250€ right-now.
The sound isn't the same, this is using ibanez infinity r humbuckers the rg421 is using the ibanez quantum humbuckers which are a step up The rg421 does sound better but it's going to, it's ibanez standard not gio and the pickups refect that but so does the price, this is still a great budget guitar though

180 pounds in the UK, pretty awesome really , I own the rg421ahm , but might buy this just because it looks amazing!!
Dude. You are one killer guitarist. 😎👍

This think literally plays like a prestige. And everyone sleeps on it cuz it says Gio lol.

I wonder what the difference between the Ibanez GRGR131EX and the RG421 are.

Are the humbackers passive or active?
Passive
no tremolo?
that's not a bug but a feature.
Yes it’s black but where is the bloody review?
I hate flat black murdered out guitars.
More for me
