- 2018 was a glorious year for LEGO Harry Potter, giving us both sets and figures that were some of the most accurate and detailed we'd seen. In 2019 this continued however something happened and 2020 gave us loads of inaccurate figures. In comparison the figures had less printing and detail, reused more faces and torsos and just weren't as accurate as fans had began to expect so I wanted to give them the detail these characters deserve.

yeah, I was so excited for the 2020 burrow. the 2010-11 one was awesome so I was ready to see what they'd do but when I when I built 2020 bellatrix and was really disappointed

For me, Chos skin tone has always really bothered me. Cho is fairly pale and yet she is the same skin tone as the Patil twins? I'm assuming they are trying to show that she isn't white but the first time I got her Minifigure I actually thought it was supposed to be Padma. It just doesn't look like her.
It seems to be the standard for Asian characters as Dr Wu from Jurassic world is the same, but then again Mantis wasn’t so I have no idea. I don’t get it especially with the Patil twins now being figures
Idk why Lego need to show Cho not a western. Everyone know who she is and what skin tone she has. I think pale skin tone will not turn a person into western.
@@HollyOnFilm Donnie Yen's character in Rogue One was also colored normally, so I'm just as confused as you are. Maybe apparently the skin tone for Cho and Wu happened to look "darker"? Still doesn't really justify making it that dark.

@Amber yeah but they remake the sets so new people can buy them cause the other have been retired for years
I feel like Draco's hair should be white...and I'm actually thinking of changing his hair to Soldier 76's hair. Feels like it matches his HBP look better than the current yellow blonde one from the Astronomy Tower set.
It really is crazy that Dumbledore from the Yule Ball had skirt printing on both sides and these characters don't. Also, we only see Dumbledore for a split second with that outfit
The dog trainer hair makes Malfoy look a ton better
Some of these work, some of these don't. With Bellatrix, I'd rather have an unprinted height accurate skirt piece than have her taller than the other figures.
Yea, the only person who deserves to be taller than everyone else is Hagrid, and they butchered his new figure
I agree in movie accuracy for Bellatrix's height, but in the books, she was actually quite tall (Taller than Harry, so around 6 feet tall) so I like to just call it a crossover XD

Luna from room of requirement was wrong!! She needed mid-legs, she was in year 4, so just give her black mid legs.
I DESPISE Molly’s new hair piece! It’s sooo ugly! The old one looks so much better.
Also chos skin is way too dark, she’s rather pasty in the movies
I got a set with luna in it for Christmas and I was really disappointed in her design I expected better and it made me sad because she's one of my favorite characters.

I like the hair mold for 2020 Lucius better though, the old one kind of looks mullet-y in a way

I would totally pay for that, but I also think it would be cool if Warner Bros could remake the original Harry Potter video games for modern operating systems (like Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone VG that came out in 2001, and those same franchise games beyond that one). I may be young, but I love the old stuff, and I know other companies have made remastered versions of their old games, so I just want Warner Bros to do the same thing (although the old game will probably work of current computers on windows ten, but I need one of the old games to test it out first)

We need to get an updated Lego Harry potter with more up to date Lego Minifigs. Much like the New Star Wars lego game.
My best guess with LEGO is You Know What interrupting production. A lot of toys were rushed or simplified this year to make up for slowed production. Making less types of pieces = less people working.
Yeah, there are a lot of things wrong about those figures.
I had the og dobby 2010 set and I was so sad when dobby's eyes rubbed off the rubber head... I was also sad I lost the hairpiece of lucius'
We love this - Pimp my minifigures should be a new video stand!!! Have you seen that they are bringing out Lego HP key rings - just Harry, Ron & Hermione at the moment
My nitpick is with Luna from the Room of Requirement set. She was a fourth year in that movie, and LEGO seems to have established that fourth years have medium legs, and Evanna Lynch is also short, so I swapped those for her.
Your right, the movies didn’t really follow the books as Cho Chang is actually in the year above Harry, so the Cho Chang should use a normal length dress rather than shorter ones

Tonk’s hair should be pink, in the mini figs and in the movies. I don’t know why they skimped over her having pink hair.
Cause they only ever make a mini figure based on her 5 minute appearance in half blood prince

The face printing quality has gotten so much shittier. You can see it with Lucius, the 2010 face is much more refined and crisp, whereas the new one is thick, smudgy and not very black.
That ice skate on the staff is genius.

Well we might get another Bellatrix in the summer 2021 wave (supposedly based on DH1 and 2) so to mix things up (and from fan response) we may get a different bellatrix with a new face and skirt printing in something like Malloy manor or some sort of battle for hogwarts ( maybe even a new molly to duel with with an angry face)

I have been waiting for a remake of the burrow since missing out on it in 2010, and the fact that a 2020 set has figures of lower quality than a 2010 set is really disappointing, Molly just looks wrong, why couldn't they have just used hermione's hair in orange, unlike others, I can't swap out the hair or dress or face which means I'm stuck with a inaccurate minifig that is worse than a fig from 10 years ago. And I know, first world problems and all that, but Lego prides itself for being a premium product that will give you exactly what you pay for, this just feels lazy

Maybe you can take pictures of these Lego Harry Potter Minifigures that you personally updated, and post them on the Lego moc or Lego ideas website and then the Lego company will do something about those Minifigures getting improvements.

Susan Bones and Seamus Finnegan should've had exclusive printings instead of extra pieces.
Yea, I think they probably should have too, but the reason they reuse heads from other characters is because it would cost a small fortune to give each minifig individual printing. It probably costs hundreds of thousands of dollars just to create the print for a new face on a head, and then to create new colors of plastic? The price wouldn’t be worth it.
So I agree with you, but I understand why they didn’t do that.
The dog trainer style hair now oes in fact exist in tan, so you can use it for Draco in the Monster Book of Monsters set, meaning in turn you can also use the old Lucius hair so it matches again

I have done that exact Prisoner of Azkaban Hermione fig! I decided I'd keep the official one though since it's the only official fig that has year 1/2 style Hermione in casual clothes. (...but of course it's in a year 3 set smh)

I have a Burrows playset that came with a Molly figure. She looks tons better than the new one. This playset is from movie 6. I think. It was when deatheaters attack it.

I think the most inaccurate HP minifigure is definitely professor Slughorn by far
I will just buy both sets switch out the heads, hairs and/or torso. Then sell the lesser set for a discount.
Ex. Buy both Burrow sets Fix Lestrange like she did and sell the older burrow but with the overused head piece
For some ideas with making your own decals for lego mini figs, youbcould also look at the crafsman channel, he does a few.

The new luscious malfoy head reminds me of the old clone trooper face
Aside from the eyebrow color, I don't think Susan Bones' face works very well for Ginny. I think Gabrielle Delacour's face with orange eyebrows would look best for her.
For Nymphadora Tonks, I suggest the head from Chief O'Hara from The Lego Batman Movie

I just used the Willie Scott head for the Lavender Brown minifigure.
They ruined the hair color for the new Draco Malfoy minifigures.
EDIT: they also kept giving the Draco Malfoy minifigures dark brown wands instead of the black wand that he normally has
They definitely get the improvement they need

I dont think the figures are bad they could be better, but we are getting sooo many new minifigures and many with great detail and love put in them that i dont care that some could be better
My least fav Lego Harry Potter minifig is probably Luna Lovegood from the room of requirement and the Hermione Granger out of the same set. Hermione's hair isn't messy or like Hermione at all. And Luna doesn't have her goggles her hair might need to be upgraded...
