- The recent LEGO Harry Potter waves have been a big step up in terms of quality compared to the 20th Anniversary wave, however a lot of the minifigures still lack a lot of detail and accuracy. Here are some quick, cheap and easy ways to upgrade those figures using existing parts (as well as a little photoshop) to make them the perfect minifigures!

I find my Cho looks more like Cho if I swap out the face and hands for the skin colour used for Harry, Ron ect. The actress that plays cho doesn't have skin as dark as lego makes it seem, with the colour used for her instead being perfect for the Patil twins. Until there is a middle ground, I think the lighter colour works better and the sleek black hair still makes her stand out from the "default background" white custom Ravenclaw girls that I've made
Exactly. It’s so dumb that just because someone is Asian, Lego feels like they have to use that skin tone on them. The regular fleshtone is much more accurate.

Honestly, I'm still holding out hope that they'll release a Cho using either light nougat or the newer skin tone (idk what it's called, but it was in a Kenobi set recently).

i do have another idea for hermione/ i forgot the name of who she was pretending to be; for me, i would use cho’s skirt AS well as queenie from the first CMS’s legs, it looks a bit better to me

hey holly, great video! i have one suggestion for future videos like this, though. when you're explaining why you think the pieces you're changing work better than the originals, i think it would be nice if we got a side-by-side comparison of the lego minifigure and the person/thing its representing from on screen. i understand if you can't because of copyright or other things, i just think that if you can, that would be a nice addition for viewers that might not know exactly what the on-screen appearance is.

5:07 that hood piece, while old, still works for a lot of characters better than the new one does. It works for characters whose hood comes together with a clasp or something, like Palpatine. So, to use the new one for Palpatine is less accurate. But the new one works great for something like the Dementor.

Personally, I feel that Goblet of Fire Neville would be more accurate with the Dark Brown Lloyd hair that was just in the Table Football set recently

Bellatrix's wand is actually a dark brown rather than black. For some reason, lego gave her a black wand when it should be brown

I managed to pick up that Sirius figure with the Magical Secrets book for just £2 in a local 'Poundland & more' there was also a book with Ron but I already have enough Rons & Gryffindor uniforms.
Funfact: So many guys were sporting a long hair in GOF cause they simply liked Oldman's long hair!
It's odd that Sirius has leg printing in Sirius' Escape and not in the Shrieking Shack.
What strikes me most is that most figures could have done with a hair swap: Neville, Viktor, Mafalda, Cho. All have improved with the new hair. The design team appears not to care about that.

They’ve just introduced a new skin color for Din Djarin and Dom, I feel like it would work well for Cho Chang and the Shang Chi Minifigures, neither of which were generally viewed as accurate in that regard.
@@legometaworld2728 Cho in the film is as pale as any other white character (well...except Voldemort). Using anything other than the normal light nougat would be incorrect. Chinese, Japanese and Koreans generally aren't darker than a regular European.
@@legometaworld2728 I agree, that’s the perfect skin colour for Cho. I really hope they’ll change it in the future because she looks WAY too dark (she looks more south Asian). I honestly don’t know what LEGO was originally thinking, Chos skin is much more similar to nougat than the brown in any case.
@@___David__ well, I’d say they have darker skin than Western Europeans usually, though. It’s a slight difference, and it’s hard to tell from the movies, but usually their skin is darker.
@@flop8514 That's a common misconception I also had 'cause most of the people from those countries we're exposed to in the West are actors who go to tanning salons and use a bunch of make up. I was pretty shocked when I actually came in contact with common natives. Yes, some of them are slightly "darker" (it's not even darker...it's a more yellowish tone instead of pink, which I guess is where the stereotype came from) but by enlarge they're equally pale (you also have Western Europeans which are more tanned - specially in Southern Europe - and some who are as pale as a ghost - normally in the North. Then you have me, a Southern European that looks like a ghost lol)

3:19 Cho's biggest problem remains her skin tone. She should be white like the others as the actress herself is as pale as (if not paler than) Daniel Radcliffe. This skin tone is completely inappropriate for her. She looks like a Patil twin.
