Wow. This song is from Nasidaria. A group of women vocals from Semarang, Central Java. We Indonesian Muslim have a high respect to our fellow Muslim in Cham. Cham or Champa, or Cempa as we called it here, known as a great grand mother to Javanese King and Ulama. There is "Putri Cempa" musoleum in Cirebon. Near of Sunan Gunungjati maqbara.

Infact we are in Indonesia from Champa. We are familiar to Islam from also from Champa, before we are Hindu and Budha. Here's the history: Historical records in Indonesia showed the influence of Queen Dwarawati or Dwi Anarwati, a Muslim Princess from the Kingdom of Champa (Chams), toward her husband, Kertawijaya, the Seventh King of Majapahit Empire, so that the royal family of the Majapahit Empire eventually converted to Islam, which finally lead to the conversion to Islam of the entire region. Chams Princess tomb can be found in Trowulan, the site of the capital of the Majapahit Empire.[28] In Babad Tanah Jawi, it is said that the king of Brawijaya V has a wife named Dewi Anarawati (or Dewi Dwarawati), a Muslim daughter of the King of Champa (Chams). Chams had trade and close cultural ties with the maritime kingdom of Srivijaya, and Majapahit then in the Malay Archipelago.

Yes true, but throughout history the Chams were always stuck in battles between Khmer and Vietnamese. Though they lost their country, their tribe still exists on both sides.
It's true that the khmer rouge killed a lot of them but now a days they rather live in Cambodia where there is freedom and democracy than in the Communist Vietnam.

Yes there are Champa and MonKhmer. Cambodian is mix of polynesian, austronesian, and Afghanistan. The Great Khmer Empire King combined to one raise call Khmer. Then got change to Kamboicha, then to Cambodia.

There is difference between a religion and a local culture.
Islam is spread across the globe among their natives who continue to observe their own local traditions even after embracing Islam. The prophet too had allowed it.
He allowed his representative Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty to resort to Sufi music in Indian sub- continent to spread Islam there. Its natives were greatly using music to show their own faith.
Muslims of any country have no right to criticize way of life among Muslims of other countries. Unfortunately, Arab nations do not think so.

mbap usot not only Cham Polynesian Austronesian. Montagnards indigenous Central highland of Vietnam they are Polynesian Austronesian roots too. The Montagnards lived first in Central highland . The Cham people came latter ,Cham people carried India culture . They are hindu and muslin today , Cham temple still left In Vietnam.

The reason why Javanese look different from Austronesians is because they have another lineage and switched to speaking Austronesian, same with Cham n

Chams are related to khmers genetically
Cham people are only austronesian linguistically, genetically they share more commonalities with mainland SEA and southern china. From Y-dna or the paternal side the genetic break down is as follows:
MSEA & South China: 67.9% (all O and C3)
ISEA (likely Austronesian): 13.6% (K*, C* and F*)
Taiwan & Philippines (core Austronesian): nothing at all
South Asia (Hindu/Muslim historical networks): 18.7% (R, H)
As you can see Chams are overwhelmingly mainland south east asian with a substantial contribution of indian genes at 18.7%. There are no current studies on the Mtdna (female genes) but I would surmise or speculate that the Mainland contribution would be even higher.

@@gold-toponym I tell this to alot of cham people but they do not believe me, they think they are more related to Filipinos and Taiwanese aborigines whom are the original Austronesians. Genetics studies show that cham, Malays and Javanese are actually much closer to khmers. I even have cham people telling me that they look nothing like khmers and that khmers look more Chinese which is ridiculous.

If you noticed in south east Asia, the most genetically Austro Asiatic groups have historically had the most advanced civilisations and the most genetically Austronesian groups have had the least advanced civilisations. Compare the Khmer, mon, dong son(northern Vietnam), ban Chiang in Laos and Javanese civilisations to the Phillipines and Taiwanese aborigines and you will see this is a fact. Some of the earliest iron was casted on Austro Asiatic lands and there is archaeological proof in Thailand.
