Quite possibly the best Versailles video on RUclips. No needless commentary, just POV real-life. Videos like these are saving me from losing my mind during quarantine, Thank you so much!
Very fresh look at a place of grandeur without the silly copyright free RUclips background music and complaints about the crowds, the heat and the costs. It’s almost like being there. Bravo!
I’ve waited my whole life to go to Versailles since I fell in love with French history as a child….. You must have such patience, I don’t think I could stand that many people blundering about, clearly unsure of what they are looking at and why. It’s a beautiful place with an important history….. I didn’t realise there is a huge car park out the front of it though 😳…… thanks for sharing this
The main tour of the palace is a nightmare most of the time, it's true, but there are quieter times of the year. Away from that circuit, such as Mesdames' apartments, the Trianons or the private guided tours, things are much easier. The temporary exhibitions they stage are exceptional. Next year's will celebrate 300 years since Louis XV returned to Versailles - definitely one for the diary!
Visited Versailles almost 40 years ago on my first visit to Paris. So glad I went then. There was nothing like the number of visitors then as there are today. We walked straight in and paid for a tour with 30 people in it. Same is true of other tourist sites. One of the disadvantages of cheap air travel
These places are usually too crowded for anyone to feel anything... you are distracted by the thoughts of losing your passport, your children, making sure you don’t touch anyone and keep moving with the queue. Besides they never show you what you want to see.. the real possessions the bedroom the kitchen... it’s just a museum.
even pre covid, i wish that popular places like this would have crowd limits. this is nuts......great video though. the best versailles palace vid ive seen. all the others want to give history and dramatizations.
I went in August 2020 after the castle opened again, and despite the crowd limits there was still a lot of people coming from everywhere! Definitely less than in the video, but still enough that sometimes we were all stacked together lol

King Louis XIV was criticized for the expense of the palace-but consider that its construction and use provided thousands of jobs. Whereas we spend trillions on weapons, ships, tanks, etc.-that are eventually scrapped.
What a waste of time waiting in a queue to see something you'll never be able to enjoy with all of the pushing and shoving and body odour once you're inside. People running all over the god damn place, no order or calm. Also, there's a large crowd of pickpockets to make you feel more comfortable and secure. I'll be in that vineyard in Nuits St. George sampling the most delicious of sparkling wine......the rest of you fight in out in Versailles.

Wow, thanks!
The little French houses or cottages at the end.... That's paradise.
It really is a fascinating place.
thanks for watching.
What were those cottages exactly? Just curious...thanks!

Many thanks.

Thanks for a fantastic peaceful tour. The queen's hamlet was lovely and the hall of mirrors magnificent

I loved your tour it was way cool.
Thank you probably the best video I've found on the palace!
Awesome. Glad you liked it. Check out our channel if you want more videos walking through Paris or other cities throughout the world.
I did the tour last year. It is jaw dropping. There are not enough adjectives to describe Versailles.
It’s like something out of a dream
Lovely views and really well filmed.
Thanks. And thanks for watching.
It amazing that at the period when the palace was being constructed everything in this video would have been wood and rivers .
what do you mean by that?

Awesome....thank you. We were planning to visit China and Paris aka Versailles again this past summer . This is a great substitute til next year
Hope you get to go and you love it!
Beautiful. I hope to visit soon.
I hope you can!
thank you very much for little France!
we went to Versailles in March a few years ago - very cold but the place was practically empty.
This is where the cliches comes in, "If those walls could talk!"

That much crowdedness turns Versailles into a train in India. Versailles must be visited whenever tourists are infrequent.
Excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Super
Thanks
I hope to go there one day the palace of my ancestors and Louis the 14th
Thank you for watching. I hope you get to go there someday.

France is so beautiful ❤️
The amount of tourists gave me agoraphobia and claustrophobia.
I am stressed out only by watching. Most of them are not even interested in what they see... So sad.
thank you
Hard to imagine that back in the 1970s, the palace was falling apart and no one cared.
King Louis XIV was criticized for the expense of the palace-but consider that its construction and use provided thousands of jobs. Whereas we spend trillions on weapons, ships, tanks, etc.-that are eventually scrapped.
I can only think of Marie Antoinette and what she must have felt that fateful might
i was there in 2914, but only on the gardens it was closed inside
Wow, a time traveler!
@@Glorfinniel lol yea . i ment 2014
2914????????? AND ITS STILL STANDING????
All I can think of is the GERMS 🦠
There must be weird vibes knowing the kings of France walked those rooms 300 years ago
Only three of them walked in the Palace !
Si Luis XIV viviera le daría un infarto para regresar a la tumba por todo lo que le hicieron a su hermoso palacio.
Yo penso lo mismo en todo los palacios.
I'll just go to Walmart.
At 8:27the video doesn’t show, but on the sailing there’s a bunch of nude babies painted
There was a lot of space to walk ,cheat and plot against one another back then
Too many tourists. I'll go in Winter.
what is this you not showing us the galary you jast walk thru
gold tone "paint" on outside truly hideous. fabulous craftmanship for what....history too much. sad.
