    Noisey teamed up with producers from all over the world in a seven part original documentary series to investigate the genesis of their music through their own personal stories. This is Inside the Beat.

    I miss this era, I know it was only 4 years ago but the whole 2010s wave of hip hop with TDE, OF, Mac Miller, Action Bronson, A$AP Rocky, all mashing and collabing. There was something about that wave.

    I fucking miss this type of hip hop with a passion. I wish OF was still a thing. I missed it completely and I have been trying to catch up ever since tyler dropped flower boy. When I first heard that shit, it blew me away. And then I dug deeper, listening to older albums like goblin. And then I looked into earl's albums. Fuck man I wish I knew about this when it was popping.

    • @midnightmoney
      @midnightmoney 5 лет назад +6

      Septemberish 2013 spotify pushed Hive by earl through my notifications. I'd never been captivated like that before. Then i heard Rust by tyler on letterman with Earl, awesome, listened to OF heavy for a few years following. I feel the same way you do but with Asap Mob. I found out about them a month ago, spotify recommended FYBR. Great music, missed their come up entirely.

    I keep on coming back to this video for Vince's verse at 2:57 and 5:37. I know that the beat was used for "Sellout," by Denmark Vessey (which is sick btw), but Vince went so hard on that beat. 6 years later and still such a shame it was never released.

    Vince and Earl are prolly two of the most talented upcoming rappers in the game at this moment especially compared to their age. Aaaand they spent a lot of time together which maybe isnt a coincidence. They make each other step their bars up and that goes for Mac Miller too who over the years has grown insanely, both lyrically and musically.

    • @IC3BProductions
      @IC3BProductions 10 лет назад +1

      earl and mac are crazy right now but I can't really get into Vince. He just comes off as fake to me, how could he have done all this gang shit he raps about and only be 20 years old?

    • @Axel2992
      @Axel2992 10 лет назад +4

      IC3BProductions Vince is the opposite of fake, he seems so real in all his interviews and shit. also gangs take in young teenagers all the time. like 14 yrs

    • @proletariategg
      @proletariategg 10 лет назад +1

      IC3BProductions I've known people that were born into gang life. It's an everyday thing in St.Louis, even still. People flaunt that lifestyle. I've grown up around gang members that started bangin at like 10-12, doin dirt. I started doing dirty shit when I was 10-12, and I wasn't even apart of a gang, although I hung out with numerous. I've changed my whole perspective and outlook on life, because I'm a grown up now. But gangbanging at those ages, is more than common. People die in Chicago everyday at that age to gang violence. And I'm not gonna say it doesn't happen in my city too. Or the next mans. Shit like that is all too common.

    • @ohmangoddamn1986
      @ohmangoddamn1986 10 лет назад +1

      Theres still people around their age who work just as good, if not , better than them. (Joey bad, chance) The difference with CHance and joey vs earl and vince- ull prolly never hear earl or vince on the radio. theyll be like black star lol. or doom or some sht. while chance is already on the radio, and joey is good enough to make a lyrically unstable song, that is still like a radio hit.

    For those who aren’t aware, the infamous unreleased beat from this video actually surfaced earlier this year on Denmark Vessey’s Sun Go Nova EP. The track is called Sellout. The beat doesn’t have much changed from it aside from it being pitched up. As for how Denmark acquired the beat from Earl/Vince, that is up to you to find out. I’m just glad it’s finally seen the light of day.
