I happened to have a skein of Lion Brand Wool Ease in Oatmeal for a solid version of this hat for myself. So far I like the pattern. Easy to follow. I did use a magic circle to start. I'm just starting row 6 to complete sides. It's hat making weather as we are into 2nd wk of September and was cooler today! Love fall here in New Brunswick Canada 🇨🇦
@@Shilo2020 that’s wonderful. I’ve actually made it in that yarn before too. It’s quite pretty the texture and I love the oatmeal. It is such a soft color. We’ve had a couple of cool days here too in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 thank you for stopping by and saying hi. Would love to see your finished ad. If you’re on Instagram you can take me over there at Pretty Darn Adorable. Enjoy the rest of your night.
@@prettydarnadorable I can’t figure out how to add a photo, but it’s gorgeous. Color 1 is rainbow and Color 2 is black. Then I did the contrast band with 2 black, 2 rainbow, 2 black. 😍
Yes you can! Sorry for the late respose! Yes start with more stitches as you did and they will multiply as you add rounds. Hope it worked out great for you! In the end you want about 8-10 additional stitches in total. How did yours work out ?
I followed this tutorial, I found it easy as a beginner and I made a super cute hat! Only problem is it’s too small for both me and the friend I was going to gift it to. I didn’t make any mistakes, and the hat measures as the pattern says it will, just that our heads are wider than 20 inches around 😅
@@daisypoppylily probably comes down to gauge then the easiest thing to do would be to do an additional increase round and that will get you to the size you need to be at sorry it didn’t work out perfectly for you, but I’m really happy that you were able to follow the video and like the hat 🎩
Thank you 😊 You definitely could and it will look very pretty. It’s a really nice texture even when it’s not striped the only thing I’m not sure about is how much of a slouch you will get to the hat, so you may want to play with the length of the had a little bit to make sure it sits in a nice way. I hope that this helps.
@@prettydarnadorableok so I joined each round of color changing? I didn’t joined because I thought u said not to join. Anyway that’s where I’m messaging up.😮lol sorry to bother you. I love this hat. Also the pattern calls for tdc and sc right?

Thank you for sharing. Love this.❤❤ Almost like a double seed stitch, but different.
So glad you like it😍. Have fun.
About to make this for a friend, thank you!
Such a special gift. I hope they love it!
It turned out amazing! Thanks for the tutorial!!!
So glad! This is one of my favourites! I just need more heads to wear all the hats i make LOL. Thanks for being here!

Vòng đầu của tôi là 52cm vậy phải móc như thế nào ? Thanks bạn ❤
For a larger hat. Do I add more in the magic circle or in the increases??
Add more to the magic circle - you will need to do a little math with that. Hope it works out1
Thank you ❤ love it
So happy to hear. Have fun😀
Lovely project! To increase the size to 24 inches, should I add more stitches to the magic circle or at the increase?
I hope she answers! I want to know as well.
I tried starting with a circle of 10 stitches and then doubling it till I had 80 stitches

Oh no. Did you use the same yarn and hook check gauge? 😞
@@prettydarnadorable I used worsted weight and the 6.5mm for the whole thing to see if that’d make it bigger

my head is 24, can I add a stitch :)
You will need to add about 4-6 stitches that will increase the size approx 1 - 1.5 inches :)
Do I still need to turn if I'm doing a solid color?
You do - or the texture will be completely different.
What about a smaller head which size hook bc i made a beanie with one of those hooks and it was too big for me
If the stitch count is the same you could try a smaller hook but if it isn’t then I would recommend the 6.5mm
@@prettydarnadorable oh so the stitch count has to be the same but may not be and it may be too big for my head
@@Value1lady what was the stitch count and measurement of the last hat? That will help me figure out for you
@@prettydarnadorable i do not remember and the person i made it from is no longer on RUclips
Do u think I could use a 5 weight and not use 2 colors? Thanks it’s so so pretty ❤❤

Why turn?
It will be a different texture if you dont :)
